try to set a fire point near their max target zone. and provide your .miz file if it don't works. i will try it.

A bit harsh to read, but you can create triggers for this. LUA is not my cup of tea so good luck with that. small example (Quick and dirty btw): IF: group X alive less than 99% OR Unit "Command center" damaged OR whatever you want THEN : DEACTIVATE Group Y Flag set random value : 1 - 10 to 13 ---- If : Flag 1 equals 10 Then: Activate group 1 --- If : Flag 1 equals 11 Then : Acitvate group 2 ..... --- If: Group 1 alive less than 99% OR Group 2 alive less than 99% OR ... Then : AI TASK : OMG let's get outta here ! ahh coding, coding... easy coding, so many possibilities.. so many lines to write, so many FPS lost :) -
i've done that with SA-10 and as long as the tracking radar can track, Launcher will launch if it's in range. BUT ! it was with BS1/BS2 first patchs mission editor. maybe they changed that.

I tried with 180km/h crosswind and the vikhrs fly slowly at 250km/h directly to the ground. then i've got rotor intersections. :D Then i tried with 85km/h crosswind, and the vikhr misses the target by 50m. (4km far) tried with laser designating or laser painting (20secs). same results. didn't tried with the KH-25.

Ok fine, NCTR it is (don't want to re-read the manual again) But when i wanted to take this screenshot (without joystick or anything so technically hard to fly the falcon effectively) i wanted to show you the Radar Bar when trying to IFF a boogey. in place of MG25 you have an horizontal bar. if it's going left, it's probably not friendly. if it's going right, someone will shout "buddy spike" rather shortly. Is it another NCTR ? :D Btw it doesn't work for GM/GMT radar. that's why i happily pressing A(wacs) - 2 : Declare ! :) And if it's a good day, i can even ask him : Request picture. My preferred answer is Picture Clear The thing is in DCS, AI is aware of Red/Blue. in my mission, at start the F15C says : "tally utility bullseye....." ok he spotted the russian command vehicle 2000m below him, even if it's an air superiority figher, but hell... if i had this command : "Repeat last you bad robot ! " i would be happy :) -

agreed with chromium. 40$ is reasonable imo. imagine if they sold BS1 @ 70$ then asked 20$ for upgrading to BS2. there would be way more rage posts. But ED seems to come slowly to DLCs, and... well i'm not supporting this thing either resulting in a unfinished game. Anyway, June coming to an end very soon :D -

Hello ! I'm suggesting to follow at least the first line of what Robski said. I've mapped the slow zoom ( num keybapd / and * ) to my Stick with pinkie switch and up down POV button (an example for X52Pro) Left for Shkval Lock view and Right for Zoom re-center. I never done that before and, hell, it is sooooo useful ! Another option, although i didn't looked in further is to create a new profile in TrackIr and Rise considerably the curves for this axe. but remember, Zoom button will actually let you clearly see your abris, and the tank located 10km away. TrackIr in-cockpit Z-Axis won't help you outside. Imo assign a zoom button to your joystick. What any Sim is lacking is the reduced field of view even with a HD display, compared to any human eye. IRL i will see and track my leader squad located 200m in his Ka-50 in front of me. In DCS, i almost always loose him at the first manoever. -
---- Ok, rapid sum up : 6 month ago I've bought some pricey FB-DIMM for my mighty MacPro in order to happily overclock my FSB from 1333 to 1600Mhz or more. On Mac i can do that but the system OS is based on the core frequency, ie when rising the FSB, the clock goes faster. It means when encoding a video, the rendering time displayed is the same. but seconds go faster than light. BTW my MacPro refuses to start after a reboot while overcloked. So i was stuck with this ... feature* ! Most games (not many so... easy to test) are going out of sync. The only good thing happened with that is running faster in WoW... but i don't play this game for years now. :music_whistling: ---- Anyway, On Windows, i don't encode anything, so no need to do that, but.. then came DBS BS2. So i happily overclocked my FSB with SetFSB, easy to use, and Xeon compatible :P I re ran some test in DCS and didn't found any transcending differences. But.. anyway when i saw you guys overcloking to 4.8ghz and running 40fps i said to myself : it's already lost wait for the next Xeon. Then came the bug (in fact it was here from the first OC day) of partial audio speech, cut off messages and almost everything with a sound in DCS. Exact same problem as here : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=67929 Solutions were IRQ, PCi-E switch, Swap files, and some other useless things for me. I don't have a Bios, and no one knows EFI... yet. Then i remembered that i was sure thoses F1 in the last Grand Prix were really fast with VLC when dragging the window. And semi-lagging when releasing. It came clear to me : This is the TimeWarp effect of OCing the FSB. I took a watch, and closely watched the clock in ABRIS. When the Abris clock hitted 1Mn, my (real)watch still at 45s. (Then i remembered how good i was, finishing the BS2 campaign 30% faster than you :D) After a Tiny search over the net with something like Internal Clock frequency with a known search engine i found one post : http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/569893-must-read-setfsb-o-c-game-problems-fixed.html Bingo ! WinTimerTester were totally out of Sync, Wooooow, really new COOL FEATURE they've made in Windows 7 !:megalol: anyway, i've done the command lines, rebooted, and now... You right, my bad. I'm in dual screens since 7 years and i will never ever go down to 1 screen. I'm looking closely to my °temps with gpu-z and never saw a change in memory speed. But like you said, i'm in dual screen. With 48xx series which is not the most power-saving card they've made. i will now consider to underclock my memory clock if i'm idling. As for AMD/Intel... not any clue. But overclocked or not, GPU load is about 80-90% now.

Sure, it's a trigger. easier and more controllable. But i saw some whinings in DCS thread already, don't know why. it's a cool feature. 1 image explains 1000 words : PS : 107.7FM is usually the Radio Traffic in my country. Maybe i will listen to it in DCS Combined Arms :D EDIT : sorry the pict below has an error. Radio Beacon Unit only works on radio-capable unit, like the Ka-50. it will emit until destroyed or deactivated. Radio Beacon Zone work in a trigger zone placed anywhere. for a comm radio tower, you must create a trigger zone with this last option. sorry for that :) -

And suddently i remember one thing : - Sentry 1, Avenger 2-1, Declare ! - Avenger 2, Sentry 1, Contact appears Hostile. ID is Mig 29 Bearing 326, 68 Miles, Angel 25. And in DCS both camps have radios and awacs... Contact can be friendly, hostile, or unknown. what do you think ? -
this is a normal behavior of ATi GPU speed stepping is 250Mhz/500Mhz/850Mhz (or any stock frequency) No speed step on the memory. if the system were powersaving at this time 2 things should happen : Frequency should be @250Mhz Game should be unplayable, not 15fps. I often see my 500mhz speed stepping when i don't use 3D but do use my computer. like taking a screenshot ;) anyway, the sky in DCS is not always your FPS friend. Try a Dynamic weather with some nice cyclones, and tell me your fps while flying in the clouds. Anyway, setting everything to low could result in lowering framerate somewhere, and water to low is sooo ugly ! in the helping thread it's said shadow to high could be better, i'm using this now and i don't see any bad things happening. Xeon 2.66 or 3.2Ghz / ati 4890. running between 40 and 15. usually 24. playable. Overclocking my GPU didn't do any good. apart a nice crash if i try to fly right through a smoke. one thing for sure, take some hours to test a same path. and change things.

Hello ! just a stupid question, How can i do to uninstall only one dcs module ? like i don't want my A-10 iteration at the moment. should i have to uninstall dcs world, then reinstall with the good modules only? seems a bit harsh. anyone? cheers !

To me, Dynamic weather almost kills my rig, especially if there's a heavy cloud cover. didn't tried CBU, but tried rocket arty bomblets and it's also dropping to 1-5fps until the smoke dissapears. Same for MLRS firing at very close range) Same for some colored smokes at close range... I think it's a known bug atm and i truly whish they gonna do something with it. I have Texture set to high, all others all set to medium. GPU is dropping activity when this is occuring. (4890)

Simples statistics is not a hard thing to do. Anyway... i've made 2 missions with 2 jeeps lines. one with always 75% chance popping (Green - Orange - White), the other line with 50% and 25% (Blue - Red - Blue) 3 zones with 10 triggers each. 30 zones total. MY results are : random 75 : about 7-9/10 random 50 : about 4-10/10 random 25 : about 1-4/10 Ok the random 50 is a lucky number in DCS, but it seems to work. I've changed my initial mission so i can't provide the original mission which served for my first tests. PS : on the random 75-25 mission, there are 2 carrier groups with 4 aircrafts trying to land on it. happy watching, traffic jam in sight. DCS_W_Random75-50.miz DCS_W_Random75-25+carrier.miz

first it was an edit then... Naaaaaah, my bad (almost) but encyclopedia is too limited to make some fast tests. i always need to spend the afternoon too see what's working and how :( SO ! All MLRS works. it's just a range problem to me. USA MLRS have minimum range (is about the max range or M109 arty) = 20km. They start shooting, and they land short :D so it's range is 20 -> 30km USSR Grad range is 5 -> 20 km. Land short USSR Smersh range is 20 -> 70km. BUT, they are landing short, so max range i could get was 38km (with a 70km fire point) Now about miscalculation : As i said, an afternoon testing (thank you Ramdisk for loading time) i came to that : Rockets ranges are cutted by 25%. If you place a fire point to 30km, they will land at 24km. For Smersh, it's applying for "short" range. For long range it's increasing, Simple method is the NM / KM translation. Fire point at 70KM -> land at 38KM (38nm = 70km) 1.8 ratio My conclusion is everything is subject to change, because in DCS-A10, the USA MLRS can shoot way before 20km. I've put some blue/red jeep near short landing and they're all dead ;) i deleted my template mission but i can provide another one if interested. Another thing : Bomblets explosions with MLRS and Smersh kills my computer, 1-5 fps. But it's beautiful.

Edit : It was the other day, probably a lucky day :) It is working as intended ----- I've done some tests the other day and i came to conclusion that ED tries to introduce new mathematical rules. (Id Est : ) Random 100 == 100 Random 50 == 100 Random 25 = 50 Random 0 = 0 So if you're making multi-decision, be aware of that. This bug is maybe known, but... sorry 'bout that. Simple and fast test mission : A fast tank on a runway. multi trigger zone, each zone has a chance to pop funky smoke when the tank enter it. Make 10 or 20 zones and just count the colors when the tank stops :) For 10 triggers : Random 50 popped 10 smokes. always. Random 25 popped 4 then 7 then 5 smokes. Random 10 popped 1-3 smokes Guess what random 0 have done. not so hard to find.

It's sad but regarding the DCS World iteration programs, SU25 is their demo. Implementing a limited access (like the arcade mode only for BS2) is : a / too far from what DCS really is (army simulation, not a simple game) b / Too hard to code. (a 5mn flight control synchronization would be squeezed by hackers so fast... and drm drm drm... sorry what? didn't seen that) but it definitely need something to gather peoples online. The BEST BET In My Humble Opinion, is DCS Combined Arms. - Not too hard / fast learning curve - Not too arcarde (please please please) - Don't require you to buy a 150$ joystick / TrackIr - FUN (?) DCS CA should be something strong for the non-flight sim fans. But it will depend mainly on how flight commanders (us) will hire them. i would not be jealous if DCS CA become the major success of ED. But there's so much S-H-*-T-S in the game industry today that i will never ever buy a game without trying it out before. (unless DCS CA obvioulsy) maybe when this time comes, ED will finally tell us than BS sold over 38965 copies, and CA over 800k ;) -
Can you post some loading times? From what I know for dcs world only loading a simple mission : From 7200rpm hdd : 30s preload / 2mn20 engine load. ==> 2mn 50 total From my RamDisk : 15s preload / 1m10 engine load ==> 1m30s to the cockpit CPU : Xeon 5150@3.2ghz / 13gb fb dimm DDR 2 800
