It's not a Fragmentation problem Skull. We've got this on SSD too. To be clear, which loading we are talking about? Because the major problem here seems to be the "Pre-Load" which takes 50s+ on an SSD. the true loading screen (black) seems fine, as it's really fast with low settings, and normal with highest settings (time to fill the VRAM) right now, it's about 50s PreLoad /30s Load

Well, there's definitely something with BS loading process. I can't say it's longer than 1.2.1, but it's quite long anyway. And i've got this nice freeze back with "fly" button. As no-one got a clue... wait and see. Bonne chance

Well, same as other bugs (need invesstigation), but it "seems" to work here. My cursor didn't dissapeared yet.

We need more testers ;) Mine seems working at first sight, but in fact, it's still messed. First try : they said ok, went to engagement position, and returned without firing. Second try : I uploaded differents targets to each WM. 2 : engaged all other targets BUT the one i provided. 3 (ordered him to go to Datalink point) : he went over target point (what a dumb !) 4 : he's still a good fellas. continuing investigations. Edit : i provide a quick (and dirty) mission track. Description : -1 SA10 group -1 Tank group -1 Grad group -1 Molnya I sent 3 datalink points, SA10 Radar to WM2, Launchers to WM3, Arty and molniya to WM4. None of them gone over datalink points, but over target points. Then, after a second try, WM3 shot what he likes, 4 didn't engaged the ship, etc... You can see icons messing on Abris too. (WM4 == datalink other type) This scenario can't be reproduced twice. it's random. (next time my WM2 could follow orders and so on) Datalink122.trk

Guys i know i'm a little [OFF TOPIC], but... it's for EtherealN :) Well, of course thoses G5 frozes in such situation. The fact is that was not my CPUs, and i'm sure you know some guys around you which doesn't have a clue on how computers works. (apart power on/off and maybe Ctrl-alt-del for Win95) By the time i came, the processors took damages. Don't tell me when you have that in you machine, everything would run nice and quiet forever ;) source (FR) As for Xeons. It is E5150@2.66Ghz. 1333Mhz FSB overclockable to 1600Mhz. I dig a little around, and Woodcrest is based on Core2 ;) 1 month before the official Core2 Desktop launch. (Source FR) (Intel.com doesn't say it clearly, but Wiki and other sites claim the same thing) As for games, you're right, consoles games are crappy :) some examples though : Metro2033, SC2, Eve Online. Hi Hijack ! i see you found this thread before i get a chance to respond in the other ;) Well, i think you know everything now. as DCS uses 2 cores, your 3770k will be at 3900Mhz anyway. With a nice reserve for later. Your GPU should be fine too, maybe loudy :) MoBo has 12+4+2 phases, which is very good, i hope you the best ! I saw in many tests DDR3 1600+ was useless for games but heh... I took Ivy bridge for futureproofing experience only... Okay okay... i confess... There was no 2700k left in the shop :D :D Well, i'm still happy anyway ! Edit : i just tried BS2 with 2screens (3840x1200).. fly shukumi, and OMG so beautiful ! I'm still afraid of WaterCooling because i lived many deaths of PowerMac G5 quad (2x2 PPC970fx) due to a liquid leak, letting CPU going at 95°c without noticing. Of course it took some years to happen. But i can understand your motivations. i have 4 months to decide wether buy a Top-heat sink (for taller rams) or a watercooled one. I still don't like thoses pipes ;) PS : My Xeons bought in Aug 2006 can run anything at high/ultra BUT Blackshark. i still beat most i3 @ 2.4Ghz. Since Intel Core 2, any "desktop" chip should run well in 2012. The 2000-2005 era was another history though. (M-M-X Powa ! ;) )

Ok EtherealN, more understandable. Yes i will encounter trouble if i put a top-air cooling with my OC ram, it's a shame for those engineers who don't think about this. But, on the other side, stock cooling is quite good if you do moderate OC, and a i think (total guess) that Liquid cooling take more power, and space in total. For dust in the case, you have a GPU which need major air supply so... Anyway, i would like to see AMD put a step much closer on intel...

I don't think you send helos for SEAD strikes. They're just hovering and picking targets of opportunity. I'm sure 20 KA 50 would beat 10 KA52 if they have good intel... Plus, being the pilot, you know exactly when you must press the trigger, a nanosecond before your evasive manoever. ;)

IMHO, buying a 1.5Gb GPU is a mistake. I feed you some screens i just made. Nothing was overclocked so far. I tried this with 4.2 Ghz, but as long as it's fluid at stock speed, no need to overheat my cpu. First : The setup Intel I7 3770k @3.5/3.9Ghz stock speed/fan Gigabyte Z77 D3H supporting PCI 3x SLI for later at 8x Transcend SSD320 8Gb Kingston Genesis Predator DDR3 2400Mhz Asus GTX 670 DcuII 2GB stock speed. 2nd : DCS setup Water High mhhhhhhhhh sooooo nice ! ;) 3rd : Mission generated large Battle over Georgia's Capital at sunset 4th : FPS in game, in the heaviest CPU consumption craft : KA-50 5th and what you're looking for : Windows monitoring : You can see its nearly max out 2 cores (111% total, 1 core= 50% because of hyperthread) Take a look at GPU-Z now, GPU load 75% in cockpit, 100% external view. VRAM used 1700MB, used to see 1860MB earlier today. FPS never dropped below 29FPS. usually 39, up to 100. So, conclusion, i'm glad i bought one 670 for the price of 2x660. And by the way, Asus DCUII are the quietest cards on the market, 3y warranty. very good investment (i've burned a X1900XT and GT8800 just after a year each)

Well, Bell 222 with gun/missiles and AfterBurner added mods. I would call it Airwolf ™ Apart that, the Ka50 would be a blast with Doppler Radar for Ground moving targets. The apache need 2 ppl to fly it...

Oy ! Always thought that this "thing" never worked. I've tried it, 1m20 .trk file. worked at least with png sequence (20GB !) and Avi Seq (10Gb) VLC limits my playback through. but choosing my own FPS is a great feature !!! Now i need 20PetaBytes storage ;)

You're about right Doveman. i'm usually between 3 and 4 Gb ram used BS takes 2700Mb in a medium config 1920*1200 The rest is processes from Windowz. Try clean windows unused processes before buying another 4Gb. Anyway, looking at the $/Gb price now... well...

@Sobek : In fact, i'm still working on mission design, test random things like Super-Shark flying at 700kmh, Take-Off/ Flying with 1 engine or climbing at 8500m ... Prepare Button saves somes times, but doesn't have access to tracks saves -This Engine fail is a bug somehow because it never happened before. -Not written on patch ;) The thing in BS when you usually loose an engine (because you hit EEG after asked max power for example), is a slow & steady shutdown.
