Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking

Maybe there is something going on with the centre of gravity and fuel burn. Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk -
Maneuvering On The Ground With Differential Braking
Scotch75 replied to AG-51_Razor's topic in Bugs and Problems
I have found that the weight of the aircraft affects the turning ability, too. Taxiing to the runway with full fuel (just ammo for machine guns) was more problematic than taxiing with about 30 gallons and no ammo remaining. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk -
Are there any game-related differences between the F4U-1D and F4U-1D_CW?
Scotch75 replied to tigershark1-1's topic in F4U-1D
I believe they were clipped to fit into the slightly smaller British carriers. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk -
Hhmm, there should be. Keep pressing the Down arrow button. You'll go below WPT0, through the 9 Mark points (M9->M1), then you should hit WPT59. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

I think WPT59 will always be the default Bullseye from the mission file. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Blower is the supercharger (black lever "S") on the throttle quadrant. When the supercharger is operating, it is compressing air to be forced into the engine. When air compresses, it heats up. So that light is indicating that the compressed air being forced into the engine is getting too hot. There are two ways to combat this. One is to shift the supercharger down one notch and therefore reduce the amount of compressed hot air being injected. The other is to open the intercooler flap to cool that compressed air prior to injection. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

[emoji1787][emoji1787] I know how you feel. I'll certainly give your advice a shot. It makes me appreciate even more these young fellas who had to do all of this in combat and survive. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Great post GT, this helped me understand constant speed props more. Also, we tend to forget that the massive propeller (13ft diameter IIRC) has a mass that has to be moved by the engine, so you lose some HP there. I would like to know what settings were used for combat when you are constantly changing throttle quite abruptly at times. I assume the engineers come up with max continuous as a balancing point of not overloading the engine, not overspending the prop, preventing knocking, and providing enough thrust for combat manoeuvring. Included in this is the pilot not having to spend brain power on thinking of all of this in a dogfight. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

"Open DTC" button on Mission briefing screen
Scotch75 replied to greyeagle787's topic in DTC - Data Transfer Cartridge
Do you mean the DTC GUI does not load, or you can't load a profile in the GUI? If you open the DTC GUI, press on the white FILE text on the top right just above the drop down box. It does not look like a button. When you press it, 3 selections appear, Import, Export, Load Defaults. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk -
The shaking is probably your engine detonating under high load. If you stick with the recommended settings and be vigilant with your temperature scan and use the respective cooling aids, the engine will purr nicely. I recently successfully passed carrier qualifications in the Corsair School campaign, with 5 take-offs straight into the circuit and 5 traps. The engine was working hard at low level and low airspeed. I was scanning the temps constantly and adjusting as required. The engine never missed a beat. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

After take-off, once you have cleaned up and the engine is performing, you can bring the mixture back to auto-lean, fuel selector to main (from reserve), fuel boost pump off. The fuel boost pump is used as a bit of insurance in demanding phases of flight, i.e., take-offs and landing (and yes, for start-up). Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Ok, great to hear. Many thanks [emoji106] Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

G'day @Don Rudi , It looks like Mission 10 (the first AG guns strafing) is not able to be passed. I looked at the mission goals, which seem to be the exact goals to the ferry flight with drop tanks mission. Some of the goals (scores) require the tanks to be dropped, which are irrelevant to this mission of just strafing 4 trucks. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Thanks Don, That mission fix worked, I was able to get 100 pass. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

OK, all good now. Cheers!

Hhhmm. I can't seem to download the attached mission. Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Ok, many thanks Don. I'll try it later today. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Hey Don, Many thanks for the update. I still can't get a pass mark for Misson 8, navigating to the carrier. I was able to receive the code, navigate to CV, then land successfully. The mission success popped up ok, but my score remained on 40. Would this have something to do with the flags "Landed" vs "Landed_CV"? Landed gets you 30 points, while Landed_CV gets you 60 points. I think weather vaning due to wind on the ground is too strong when taxiing. It is almost impossible to turn away from the wind (even with diffential braking and power), then the fuselage will snap around. Either that, or the tail wheel castering is not loose enough. Cheers! Have you switched on the battery and inverter? Also, check fuel switches are correct. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Well, I found the problem. Me, the "ID 10 T" problem, had the Historical Filter on. [emoji1787]. Everything is working as intended. Thanks for the help and explanations. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Thanks Eddie. I'll try deleting all of those "--" in the lua file. Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Hey Eddie, Thanks for looking into this. The lua line you refer to, is that in S-2E_static.lua (in the updated folder)? If so, is that just a comment for the model maker in the lua file? It is in green text for me (using Notepad++). Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

I put them in \Aircraft and they show just fine in structures. P.S. thanks for all the amazing liveries crazyeddie! Do I need the old S2_Tracker folder as well? Tried the upgraded one under .../Mods/aircraft, and it still didn't show up in ME. Do I need to delete the "upgraded" out of the folder name? Cheers! Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk

Hhhmmm, I downloaded the updated S2 Tracker and placed it in the correct path under .../Mods/tech, and it now does not show up in the ME to place as a static. The original does not show up either now. Love the liveries, well done. Cheers!
