  1. hiya john, you might want to check out this: http://www.amazon.de/The-Fighter-Collection-Lock-Platinum/dp/B003TPXXJI/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370091468&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=flamin+cliffs dont know if they ship to austria from germany, but why not try? there are also some resellers that cost only 4 €, so maybe give it a shot :) you will also find a lot LOMAC sellers at ebay. regards, RR
  2. hi folks, i was thinking about changing something at batumi for a while now, and i read, that there are plugins for 3ds max with that one could actualy do it. but as 3ds max is not realy an option for me, i thought someone here might be able to help in one of two ways: 1: just do the idea or 2: give advice with what free 3d programm it works as well. the idea in detail: below you will see a picture. areas A,B and C are not used so far. the idea would be to add 2 parking slots each in area A and C, replacing the static helicopters there. at spot B there would be space enough for 6 more slots. actualy i like batumi and the sourounding area very much and would like to work on this idea. i guess i'm not alone. maybe if that works ED would include such a "mod" into a further update. thankfull for any help or advise, RR
  3. as far as i understand, it is possible since day 1 to hear the health of your engine. on my first flight back then i noticed a small strange noice from the engine, gave me a bad feeling of desaster, well, 3 minutes later the engine died.... kind of strange, but listen to the mustang, it has something to tell you :) regards, RR
  4. hey guys, as much as i thank the team for this server and spending their time running it, i have to thank for the downtime actualy :D almost all flights i do are on the server, with the server down i started the huey camaign, and its quite nice. anyway, looking forward to come back on the server when its there, always nice to be there! thanks VA-Team! regards, RR
  5. it's nice to see so many pilots that enjoy just flying without combat even though with flying mashines made for war. ;)
  6. hi there, in the editor on the left side you will find the symbol with the two flags called "battlefield commanders". "pilot can control vehicles" is the minimum that needs to be checked. second you need to check your ground unit groups. if you select one, it should give the option "player can drive" where for an aircraft might stand "uncontrolled" (for reference). that should help you so far. btw: usualy you click on a groundunit via the F10 map and hit a button there, so units will not show up in the aircraft selection list in a game. regards, RR
  7. hiya, i was trying something similiar before i found this topic. in my mission, players fly around, once they come into a trigger zone around the downed pilot, he will pop smoke. (zone diameter simulating how far the downed pilot can "see" and identify allied rescue troops). so far so good, landing at the downed pilots place, picking him up and RTB to base works as well, more or less.... i used the "altitude less then" condition, but it does not feel right, as a real landing is not needed. the infantry man i'm using as pilot will just be deactivated and gets invisible that way. the mission is working, but it's not feeling right when you know what is happening. so i felt i may ask my question in this thread: is there anything like "has landed in zone" or something except the altitude/speed workaround? btw eno, i'd like to test your mission once it's done :) regards, RR
  8. i'd love to join the server this weekend, but i have to work a lot :( hopefully i can get 1-2 hours of spare time... btw, 1 hour ago there were 15 pilots on the server, 6 in hueys, 4 in mustangs, 5 in mixed aircrafts. regards, RR
  9. havent flown it in RL, but thats what i was thinking. i.e. add about 30-40cm to the controll stick, and movements will be much smoother, i was thinking about a modification of my flightstick since the mustang anyway. i guess that would make it much more easy to fly. RR
  10. Hi Belsimtek Team, i flew the first campaign mission today, and i feel there might be one change. While flying, the copilot talks here and there and the spoken text can be read. I think i understand english quite good, but as it is not my native language and flying the huey needs a lot of attention as it seems, it would be nice if the printed text could be shown for more then just the few seconds as it is, so you have more time to read it over again. While jokes from the copilot are not essential for the mission (although i like to hear/read them as well as it adds to the story/world) a player might miss some vital information. regards, Roadrunner
  11. nice one, but i had to watch it without sound, as understanding the original text it was to confusing hearing and reading different stuff, lol. anyone up for doing the voice for this one? :D regards, RR
  12. i stay with the hopefully planed hint in the teaser for today :D come heading 174 TODAY! regards, RR
  13. I dont know if it is possible, but as far as i understand the system, you can place a lot of aircrafts on a carrier, although it only has 4 catapult locations and only 1 is actualy used when "ramp start position" is selected. if one player is on the ramp, others get the delayed takeoff message. i tested this with about 10 aircraft for ramp on a single carrier so far. same might come true for FARP's, but i havent tested. so question is, if this already implemented system can be transfered as an option for airfields. if so, you could add all the aircrafts from the virtual aerobatics server (as example) onto one airfield. building all the aircraft into the mission would be some workload, but anything would be in one place with good flexibility. regards, RR
  14. at least dcs world needs an updated, for i.e. skins and stuff that other pilots shall see when flying with other pilots that own dcs:huey. so yes, an update most likely has to come with the release. RR
  15. so my guess from the tease "inbound for landing" "batumi: come heading 174" (17th of april) might actualy be not that bad :D would be nice to fly this baby this weekend :) RR
  16. Hi mate, Actualy ingame radio can be used with TARS (http://www.excessiveheadspace.com/tars/). It is kind of a mod to TS3 that allows to use ingame radio frequenzies. (Thats the short explanation). However, most likely you will not need this unless you join a virtual wing that uses TARS in missions. Regards, RR
