  3. i did try low collective, havent tried power to idle, will try it now, thanks. regards, RR
  4. 505kmh / 275knt with a huey without loosing the blades? did they change so much on the huey? i'd like to understand how you did it, as for me the blades say goodbye between 190 and 220 knt usualy. regards, RR
  5. Roadrunner

    UH-1 Huey

Apart from that, and the E-shop at the DCS page saying nothing about it beeing a beta anymore, there seems to be no more information around. regards, RR
  6. some pics for the me-262 in this topic: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=119319 but no externals so far regards, RR
  7. i had an idea today, maybe someone wants to try it. first to say, we only have FARPs, Airfields and SHIPS where we can spawn helicopters. now the idea: it might be possible, to get the helicopter landing/parking stuff out of the lua file from i.e., the perry class ship. question now: is it possible to attach those lines to another unit? i.e. an infantry or vehicle? if so, you could place the original unit next to the place where you want the helicopter for startup, and just edit the spawn coordinats within the unit. the infantry could be placed as invisible, so you would only see the cold helo. just an idea. regards, RR
  8. that looks awesome, any chance this one will be released for the public? its just the kind of small (training) map i would like to have.... regards, RR
  9. having another weather each time the same mission is loaded would be great, BUT i would then like to have a function, that reads the weather over the airfield(s), at the target and in between, generating something of a weather report, that will be included in a pre-defined field in the mission briefing. it would add to "real" airoperations, where a flight will almost never start without information about the weather. regards, RR
  10. if i may have an opinion on all that: 1: ED is building/improving THE sandbox in that we will play for the next 10 years or even more. the system is the only way in my opinion, as developing a new enginge every time etc. is just to timeconsuming. 2: pistonengine, helicopter, jets, aircrafts from the last 100 years of aviation. GREAT, give me more of it! one sandbox with ALL kind of aircrafts to fly in, only one game installed. if you dont like one aircraft or timeframe, dont use it, dont put it in a mission! win situation for all, everything there, you descide what to use! 3: ED is in a process of reconstructing al lot of this sandbox, new engine, new map, new possibilitys (i.e. multicrewed ac's) making a better mod interface to help 3rd parties and god knows what else, that takes time, especialy as it needs to be done GOOD so it works out in the long run. even when EDGE is there and some features are added, ED has to keep working on the sandbox, that always binds resources and slows down other parts, but hell, it brings us more stuff over time. 4: eventualy there will be a hornet, but it will take time, fair enough, with all those AC expected to be released this year we have a total of 24 flyable airframes, should give us enough birds to learn to master while waiting for modern fastmover! (yes, i REALY cant wait to see the hornet or a falcon, believe me, at least the hornet is in some state of development.) 5: the only thing that makes me think is the plan to make a seperate install for DCS:1944, as this would break the sandbox into 2 parts that might develop into to diffrent systems, but hey, i dont know what the ideas are behind it, or if it is a fix decision already. well, those are a part of my thoughts, noone has to like them, but maybe its better to be happy with what you have then mourning what you would like to have, there is always room for improvment, but as you cannot change stuff, life with what you have, a nice GROWING sandbox! regards, RR
  11. ok, took some time, but i got an answer. upuaut doesnt know, if it is possible to spawn helos on objects, saying that his offshore platform is working like the one already in the game. regards, RR
  12. thats the spirit :)
  13. make that 9 mate ;) AH-1G F-86F Spitfire Fw-190D9 P-47D Bf-109K Me-262 Mig-21Bis Hawk all of them are aimed for the first half of the year, hehe regards, RR
  14. there is a Fw-190D9 at the moment, and if nothing goes wrong we will have Bf-109K, Me-262, Spitfire and P-47 within the next 6-9 month, maybe earlier as a beta or closed alpha. the A-10C would be a good choice, in my opinion it is modeled in most detail then any other AC yet, but thats mostly a feel as it has much more systems like the mustang i.e. and for scaring folks with the manual, go and count all the pages that are for historical overview, checklists, thanks to..., and other stuff, the main part where it tells you how systems work is not that much after all. btw: if you dont know what to do, just download the modul, install it, and check the DOC folder in the according mod, you can read the entire manual before you descide and get an idea what is waiting for you in each module. regards, RR
  15. my personal advise would be to play the game and let your profile evolve. while i'm flying i notice, that i have to hit the keyboard often for a special command, so i map it to the hotas within DCS, thinking about on what button it is put best. over time you have all you need then. i.e. landing gear, as it is nice to have on the HOTAS, you will only need the button 2 times in a normal mission, and usualy you are not in a critical situation, so you can hit the keyboard easily. lock a missile to a target however should be on the HOTAS, as you usualy need it when there are many controllinputs needed in a short time, so thats a no-go for the keyboard. that would be my experiance and way to evolve a profile. regards, RR
  16. well, it's almost like collecting stamps, see those small quares in my signature? i have also been tempted to buy the SU-25/A-10A while already owning FC3..... can you feel the addiction? :D regards, RR
  17. as far as i understood, you cannot add pictures with greater resolution than this on the kickstarer page. they post the same pictures here, so thats the reason for this size in the first place. BUT yes, they could make a second set of pictures for the forum :D regards and a happy new year, RR
  18. if you log into the ED side, you can check your licence keys there in the activate/deactivate sectio. it will tell you if it is blacklisted there. regards, RR
  19. congrats to every winner, a merry christmas to all, enjoy your gifts, and thanks for this giveaway :) regards, RR
  20. DCS: Mig-21 Bis. Thanks for this very nice move :) regards, merrry christmas and a happy new year to all, Roadrunner
  21. thats what i implicated with the side note :)
  22. back to topic: the A-10A is the same, single buy or FC3. it was updated some time ago, and ED descided, that the FC3 owners would not need to buy it and pay again for an aircraft that they might have payed 4 times already (LOMAC, FC1, FC2, FC3). so whoever ownes FC3 will not have to buy SU-25 & A-10A module. as a side note: if you have FC3 installed, the buy buttons for those two are not visual for good reason ;-) regards, RR
  23. video for the israeli f-15. amazing stuff. "]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kk1KBQ96_DI
  24. good find, although i think it will not help. i sent him a PM and will post any news here. regards, RR
  25. hi mate, the following are only rough ideas, i dont know if they will work. find the db_units_misc.lua in it you will find the db.Units.Heliports={...} entry. under Defaults category you will see a CLSID. the same CLSID can be found in the db_categories.lua, being the ID for heliport as it seems. if you change " DisplayName = _("FARP")," to " DisplayName = _("FARP test")," for example, you will find that entry in the mission editor, so most likely at this place you can include a second heliport. from here i would try to find a file where objects are listed with their CLSID's and add your model there, so you can include it in the Heliport list. as stated above, i dont know if it will work, buts thats where i would start looking. regards & good luck, RR
