hmmm got 6mb (600kps) upload so that shouldnt be very hard then for home server. but seriously 100€ for a dedicated server ? t I find that very high but thnx will look into it. But there is still a need to buy an addiontal dcs a10 liscense ? Or can you also host an a10 game with a ka 50 liscense ?

Been playing online this weekend for the first time and i really enjoyed it. Tho like many ppl remarked there are more locked server for squads then open server for training / missions. So since i got some bandwidth avaible (if not doing a file backup) I am playing with the idea to host a server. i did two try out today and yesterday and ppl came logging in already. (even in the morning) So i got a spare laptop (or maybe can run it in a vitual machine with no graphics mode) but I got a few questions before jumping into this. 1. What is the average bandwidth 1 player needs to get a good connection ? 2. Is there a real need for a OPEN training server ? (need some replys from ppl that want this) 3. Are there companys where you can hire /buy dedicated servers in the EU ? / what are the cost estimated? 4. Is it really nesseary to buy a full game lisence just to run a server or are there other options ? like a limited lisence with grpahics turned off ? Oh and one personal question Is it possible to change your nickname in multiplay ? if so where ?:joystick:

Well euh .. steam is not that slow with patching as you think. Another sim maker released itś patch and the second it hits steam (within hours) and i was updating. This was 20 december btw so not really the season where a lot of workers are working anymore. Little steam defense here =)

abort abort abort means somebody else took out the target . Happend to me when my wingman sniped my target 2 seconds before my missle hits. Needless to say he is looking for another job right about now. (lucky I didnt shot him on sight)

Well workaround .. just copy the cd-key steam offers you , download the game from main site and paste in the cd-key Not really a workaround. And from what I understand DCS is not really good connected to steam. Seeing as there is no BS 2 on steam only BS 1 (which is on sale even too :-(

Most squads have decicated servers not open for the public. So proably not many open servers anyways. Try to find a squad to fly with <--- I am still searching for one too --edit NVM i got a nice list of about 30-40 servers .... opened any ports in your firewall ?

Is your radio audio also low or can you hear that clearly ? As stated before the cockpit is very silent (too much surprise really)

Look at Take On Helicopters. Thats the "Heli Sim" based on ARMA but with improved flight model (not accurate enough yet to call a real sim tho) But ARMA is best suited for helicopter mission and not for fixed wing. If you take the a-10 in ARMA 2 and take off you reach the end of the map in mere seconds. Even in TOH they decreased the roads to improve FPS. But what I am wondering about the Nevada Map is there a story attached to it other then being the training area ? (saw that BS 2 can get the addon too so russian invasion in USA ? .. nick named the russian gamblet ?)

A-10C isnt really a speed hog. cruise speed is 300 knots. Though in the sim i hardly go over 250 knots. However when iam taking off with a wingmen it always seems the wingmen has more thrust then me. He climbs faster etc (though i saw him go warp speed once at the take off strip to catch up -.-) Personally i dont think it is even bad to go 100% throttle. (but i always go 80-90% gives me enough climbrate anyways) The engines are quiet good and if you look at the RPM % is never goes over 90% so I think you are not even pushing the engines that hard.

Already put in some nice 24 hours (excluding the traning). i am in between two sims. This one the A-10C (i got because i loved my joystick warthog hotoas thingie) and take on helicopters (where i got the joystick for lol) So I kinda have to spend my time in those. nice thing tho is that one is a combat sim and the other is a civ sim (more or less). TOH is also more a game then a sim but it is very realistic. Also i bought my self a playseat to mount my joysticks a TIR , pedals, joysticks ... so I am in for the long run. BTW somebody know a EU server where you can hang around and just play for fun ? (still in training so not getting into heavy MP missions yet)

Hi, Since this is my first post lets start with hi. Currently i am flying with a trackir since two days. However two things annony me 1. Is the small hud but i saw i need to zoom in to get past that problem. 2. Turning my head in an impossible pose to view the ils panel. How do you view the ils panel when using trackir 5? Any tips ? Btw i a a hogpilot just for a small week and i love it so i am still figuring out things.
