  1. I was reading through this thread as i have been trying to find how to keep and seed the torrent files. It seems during an update, the the one from today the updater will pull about 71 torrent files, but the contents are only the diffs needed for the update. How is it best done for those of us that want to try and share our bandwidth and seed the files? i could in theory perform a new install and grab the torrent files from that, but it seems that they are all replaced with deltas? im just not sure how to maintain the seeding and ensure i get all of the correct files? Is there any additional direction besides the way noted to retain the _Downloads folder and its contents (.torrents and the files)?
  2. the ADM-141 TALD has a turbojet engine
  3. if you open the training mission in the mission editor(ME), and open the 'triggers' you will find the part with block of text along with the audio file for each step. As i recall the text is on a regular time out, but you could easily go and copy all of the text blocks into a text file for the mission you are working on. If you are not sure how, or need help just let us know, i could grab all the text for the mission you are working on, but its worth checking it out in the ME also a good way to learn a bit about the ME
  4. Thanks, might be helpful to add that link to the first post too so its easier for others to find :)
  5. Thanks Cobra Please consider doing a locked thread for the F-14 update similar to the Hornet Mini-Updates thread that Wags has and uses to communicate updates. It makes it real easy for many of us to then subscribe to the thread and see your updates without digging through a thread of additional comments. Im very excited to follow this module through EA and beyond
  6. oh thats right, i remember that now, i thought you were talking about an issue, but i remember now that you said you were doing that 'donation' thing.
  7. If you are missing bonus dollars, you should take it up with ED support (if you havent already). The current system is still valid and in effect so they should be able to correct any issue. it's not likely you will get it fixed just from this thread.
  8. "But paradoxically, the most loyal customers who bought everything during preorders had a hard time to use the accumulated bonus in the old system, and now will suffer the most from transition to the new system." Yes... THIS! We know it can be a 1:1 but make sure it's fair and respects those most loyal. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  9. I think most have been going with an option to spend them all "now or in the next x months" or to 2:1 conversion If I was able to spend 100% of my points in a single purchase over the next 6 months or so I would be good... Or to get $1 for ever $2 I have now since this would be in line with the new less restrictive offering. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  10. to see your current points just view your store profile here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/personal/ should show on the left side with the expiration right below it
  11. i really want to chime in here too.. i love seeing the new program, but i feel very... unhappy ... that i will loose my $60 or so in bonus points (as i already own pretty much every module) My support in purchasing all of these modules, most of which i rarely use but like to support the development team when i can... i could be a lot more colorful on how i feel, but i will keep that to myself and keep this thread polite... i reallly want to support the request for SOME sort of conversion
  12. Beta testing will be open to all when ready, but if you mean closed alpha testing probably not likely. If you had experience as a real viper pilot maybe, but a virtual viper pilots experience is only as good as the software those years are based on and ED is not looking to recreate any other sims. All of their comparative testing of the flight model I'm sure will be against real life performance data and real pilot experience.. But as soon as they are ready they will open it to us, like they have done with the FA-18.. you would agree that is very much a beta product that they have us test when ready. 13. No.. not for sure... Wags made a post saying that the YouTube comment you reference was made by some media relation or whatever person who is not able to say it.. so yeah.. maybe it was a slip and 2019 is their target.. but that is actually not official and we should not hold them to that statement... But.. we can HOPE! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  14. a lot of it that getting too far into debating the two has become .. for a lack of better terms.. socially unacceptable.. in that people will do it a bit but it kinda has to be stopped. As WinterH said, it really does turn into a discussion like religion or politics, in that there will be a lot of words for a long time but nothing productive comes of it. That said, if you word you question carefully.. or very specifically in a way that can be answered succinctly, and your question is about something that is based on factual info and not an opinion, then you will likely get a helpful answer.. but if you ask something that is.. what do you 'think' or which is 'better' at x or y... its very likely to go sideways. anyways, i know it may not help but at least it sort covers how things general are.. if you do have a specific question maybe one of us can answer.
  15. That's a bummer I was wondering abt CFTs. Too bad they aren't likely, but that's ok, still so much to look forward to. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  16. For me it will be a western attack help, the AH-64D with the longbow radar. My second would be the AH-1Z I think was the other. The light attack helo.. tho the Russian Mi-24p will be fun.. Anyways this is about the viper, it's been my personal favorite for so long, seeing it done well in DCS World is going to be great. As a couple others have said. With many other modules I like that they are getting them feature complete or close to done before releasing.. but I think doing the F-16 like they are currently doing the FA-18 will be great. The example above about how they deployed in the real world like that with updated over the years like we get over the months.. I like.. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  17. while i agree 100%... lets keep these thoughts in our heads, we dont want ED to realize they can charge some of us loonies a 5 times as much as we will pay it without a second thoughts :megalol:
  18. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/2019-02-15_Beta/ Well i think that covers a lot of it, im really looking forward to this one
  19. Yea it's really looking good so im following closely.. again great job to all.. you too BD! Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  20. i wanted to say great job with the videos, and thank you for releasing them while we await the release of the module. Initially I had really been questioning if i would be getting this module at all.. Now im trying to decide if I will get the module on release or wait till some time in the future. Seeing all of the training videos as definitely increased my interest in this module and turned it from a probably 'pass' to a probably 'purchase'. Great work to whole team its a great looking module!
  21. It's not rude to ask, but I would recommend reading and posting in the forum specific to Heatblur and the F-14 where you will find lots of info, including the official estimated release being "before the end of winter". Check their forum for more info, and heatblur also has worked with a long of content creators to show off the product. It should be pretty soon. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  22. I think the hold was a good call it that was what was decided.. and i agree Razbam needs this type of review, but so does ED and all other partners.. What i like here is that ED and Razbam did a review and together decided there were enough little things that needed to be cleaned up before an initial release.. As much as i love new modules coming out, this just ensures they are feature complete (but not bug free) before going to early access/beta. And i think the overwhelming support just to this thread has been great, very little complaining, so many people thankful and patiently waiting... i had to make sure i was still in the right place :-D
  23. Good call, best to try and get it done the best you can. Thanks to the team for making the tough call. I'm sure it's the right thing to do. Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
  24. yea i think ED realized that not having a pod is a bit of a drag for a lot of us. I am thankful they are doing the litening pod now, hopefully in a month or two we will have something to work with. Wags was clear there it is a complex switchover, easier then doing the ATFLIR, but still not something that will happen 'right away'.
  25. To my knowledge, you follow the normal instructions and put the mods in either the saved games folder in your user profile as normal, or if it goes in the game folder you just have to put it the steam based location which is I your program files(x86)/steam/common/steamapps Or something like that, I'm writing it from memory, but all steam games go to the same place by default so you should be able to ask Google if that's wrong Sent from my Pixel XL using Tapatalk
