I have upgraded my MB to a MSI z170a and my CPU to an i7 6700k and am having trouble activating. I have run a couple repairs and activations (all stated as successful) but still get an err message saying it is invalid because of hardware changes. I can exit that message after several tries and it takes me to the game. The screen shows the main menu with a strange symbol on the right. If I choose an instant action and hit fly I'm taken to the f10 map(still with the strange symbol). I will get the err report and a screen shot of the main menu this evening and post here if needed. Any ideas of what I need to do to get this straight? MJ

Thanks Demon. One more question. Do you prefer to adjust fan speed manually with the onboard adjustment, or let the MB control?

Thanks for the input BitMaster. I went with the 500r as suggested. It's actually only 1 in. taller but 2 in.+/- shorter front to back than my old one. I am a bit concerned with the large side intake having no filter as do the front, bottom and top. I'm in New Mexico and it is pretty dusty at times and I heat with wood. Lots of dust. When all my parts and pieces show up I,m sure I'll have more questions. Thanks MJ

This is not a hardware question. When upgrading MB/CPU is there anything I need to do to my DCS install? Windows and DCS will still be on their own SSD (C drive) Thanks MJ

I have finally received a new Motherboard that supports 64 Gb memory. (msi Z170A Gaming Pro, Thanks son). I am looking at the i7-6700K(4.0GHz) and i5 6600K(3.5GHz). I have a Geforce GTX970 graphics card that I will be using. The i7 is 100$ more. Is it worth it for DCS? Thanks for any insite. MJ

Is my son considered Santa? If so, he gifted me a new motherboard that supports over 8Gb Mem. (64Gb) A MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon. Now I will be able to run the recommended requirements instead of the minimum. I am shopping for a new processor now, but will start a new thread for that. MJ

I finally got to fly a few missions after the latest stable update released on 11/11/16. Ver.1.5.5.58891 I flew 2 instant action missions (A10A and Su25A), and one campaign mission(Su33) and several false starts while adjusting inputs. I got no Tacview recording in the folder in My Documents. I did a search for .txt.acmi files in my SSD drive and a HDD drive I use for other stuff and came up with nothing. Is there a setting in DCS that I am missing that allows these to be saved? This was working fine before I updated, so I think it's something that I am misremembering:doh Thanks MJ

I have the opposite problem with my cursor. In single player, after Esc out to make adjustments, when I resume, the cursor is still where it was when I hit OK after making the adjustment. I can still move it with my mouse, so I just put it in a corner where it doesn't distract me. I've only had time to try the A-10A and the Su25A. Tomorrow I'll try the Su27 and the 33. MJ

I have had problems locking if the target frame size is not correct. See pages 30, 31 of the Su-25T Manual. This may depend on munitions being used, but I don't think so. See part 8 of the series you linked to. "The TV target frame size, corresponding to the expected target size in meters, is displayed in the upper left corner. In the figure above the expected target size has been entered as 10 m. Armored vehicles are about 10 meters in size, aircraft may be from 10 to 60 meters, and ships and buildings usually require the 60 meter setting. The target is automatically locked only if the target in the cursor is within 5 meters of the expected target size, with the exception of targets larger than 60 meters that can still be locked with the maximum setting of 60 m. The expected target size and cursor size are adjusted with [RCtrl-]] and [RCtrl-[]." 

Let me begin by saying this is NOT an input problem. This concerns a choice in the controls menu that was available in ver. 1.53.. and is not available in ver. 1.54... In ver. 1.53.. I was able to choose to set my trackir z to camera zoom. In ver 1.54...I am no longer able to highlight this option. The option is still shown, but I can't choose it in the trackir column. Just wondering why ED would take this option away. In my last post on this subject, I think my wording made it sound like an input problem, so it was moved to the input forum and has had no replies in 2 days.:helpsmilie: Thank You MJ

In version 1.53... I had my Trackir Z set to camera zoom instead of longitude movement (not sure how it's phrased in axis control) which is the default and it seems to be the only option since updating to 1.54... I used it as zoom so I could lean in and see ground targets better. Was this option removed for a reason? Is there a way to get it back? Thanks MJ

I have gotten this err message when trying to start "Close Down Kopitnari" mission for the Su25T. I am still running ver. 1.53... After clicking OK a couple times the mission loads fine. Ran a repair with no change. "cannot open file for reading delimeter- begin.wave" What is this err? MJ

I am trying to change the start time for the "Hogs to Slaughter" mission for the Su-27, but Notepad++ opens the .miz file with cryptic symbols(?). Any way to do this, or are all the stock missions that come with FC3 locked? I searched and came up with a thread about campaign missions being locked (DLC) and am assuming single missions are also.
