  1. I noticed that you don't need to lead the target nearly as much as in the P-51D.... and it's a lot harder to kill stuff with :D And the fact that the Sabre HATES slow speeds! I assume the missiles are no good for manoeuvring targets and should be saved for bombers? They don't like to turn :)
  2. I've noticed an increase in FPS whilst playing 1.2.9 compared to 1.2.8.... anyone else getting this?
  3. Flying an F/A-18 with a Su-33 or F-15 cockpit is kind of lame and I'd rather wait for DCS F/A-18.....
  4. so many great choices here, I pick the MiG-21 :)
  5. Me? 1. Falklands 2. Afghanistan/Iraq one of those Arab places 3. Germany (fictional cold war conflict) 4. Vietnam 5. Korea On a side note, I also like to play as Russia, I always see them as the "good guys" in games.
  6. Been playing a bit of IL-2 BoS recently, and planes are far easier to spot than in DCS. I'm talking against the sky as well, not just the ground. I never have a problem finding and killing a bunch of planes in that game before getting shot down. In DCS, I almost always die if I lose sight of an enemy for 1 second, and finding people in the first place can be extremely difficult.
  7. Thanks for clearing a lot of stuff up for myself and others, and best of luck!
  8. I'm so glad I bought this. I love everything about this module, except the engine sounds. If they improve those one day it would be near perfect. The cockpit is just so gorgeous!
  9. Regarding gunnery: you need to lead quite a lot. A lot more than you might expect; give it a try in some turn fights against AI and see what I mean. Also, it's a preference, but some people including myself do not bother using the gyro sight and just flick it back to fixed mode. You can see where the bullets go; that's why they're called tracers. The gyro is a bit to much fiddling for me in a heated fight anyway, but some people like it. As I said, it's a preference and in a thread like this, you will get a lot of valuable, but different opinions.
  10. Can't you just hold the numpad * key for like 1 second? It makes the FOV closer and seems a lot easier than doing all of the above.
  11. That's awesome, who is the producer? :) It has no afterburner.
  12. Excellent work as usual ED/BST
  13. That's odd. I actually like the GSH sound on them, it sounds pretty beefy when you fire them. I do hope they improve the engine sound though.
  14. "Repair DCS World.exe" Just search with the start menu, I ran this and it fixed my game. Just make sure to disable JSGME mods first.
  15. I also have this problem and will try a repair. I'll report back if it works or not.
  16. This is the bonus system. You have 53 bucks which you can spend on DCS products. To increase the money you have to buy aircraft at the full price like you did with the Sabre. If you want to know more, this post explains it. Oh and grats on getting back with your fiance :)
  17. Still it looks amazing anyway :)
  18. Mine is the same, it is the default sound. The sabre uses M3 Brownings instead of M2 like the P-51 has, but I don't know what the difference is.
  19. Are there any videos showing how to use the rockets and bombs? Multiplayer is broken for me (connection interrupted bug) so I can't use that, and it's kind of confusing in the manual.
  20. Hi, I just bought this and clicked on the "training" button in the main menu as normal with a new DCS plane, to learn the aircraft. However I couldn't find a tab for the F-86F. Is this a problem in my install or just because it's a beta? And if there's another way to learn how to start up and fly the Sabre, where can I find this? Cheers
  21. It's great how they released it on Saturday New Zealand time!!!!
  22. Reminds me of the B-29 Silverplate in IL-2
  23. I hope it's 26th July New Zealand time :)
