  1. Sorry if my first post appeared hostile towards you, this sort of stuff gets asked a lot here :) EDIT: The Nevada map will be released with the new graphics engine which should be quite soon I hope :) The map is completed but awaiting full integration into the new engine, as posted by ED
  2. Agreed, some of these late war warbirds that are announced look really exciting, I mean who doesn't want to fly a fully clickable BF-109K above the skies of Normandy?
  3. Okay I'll begin with this.... Eagle is developing an F/A-18C at this time, but they haven't released pics/videos of it because I would assume it is still very much WIP. For modern jets, there is also a MiG-21Bis being developed by Leatherneck, Eurofighter and Hawk by VEAO, Mirage 2000 by RAZBAM, F/A-18E Super Hornet by Coretex and probably others I forgot to name. I assume Eagle is also busy with the release of EDGE coming up hopefully, and the integration of the F-86 and MiG into that game. Are you kidding me? Warthunder is NOT a flight simulator and does not aim to please the hardcore simulation fans; it's an arcade game. Modern aircraft as most people know are a lot more complex than WW2 planes, take the A-10C for example. It took Eagle Dynamics 5 ish years to build this simulator and that was because they had clearance from the American National Guard to use their information for the game. Or at least that's what I've read. What was the result of this wait? The most realistic, top quality flight simulation that raised the bar and set a new standard. The World War 2 planes attract a lot of simulation fans, as DCS WW2 is the only sim currently that has fully clickable professional flight and systems modelling planes. People that love IL-2 (such as myself) but wish it took the realism to the next level and added the functionality of the cockpits, DCS WW2 is definitely looking promising to those people. If it's up to the same standard as the Mustang, then we'll all be happy :) WW2 is a much bigger fan base than modern combat, and once it really takes off for DCS we will likely see a huge increase in funding and availability for more planes and possibly faster development. I can assure you, a delayed release, is far better than a buggy/broken release that can cause an uprising on forums :D
  4. If not ED, then who's gonna make the planes?
  5.^
  6. Good luck to all! I'll go first:
  7. just bounce them from height and go for a guns kill :)
  8. Well a P-38 I would definitely love, I prefer the "High performance" late model WW2 planes like the P-51D and FW-190D9.
  9. My advice is get FC3 while it's on sale. The flanker has a really nice 6DoF cockpit and will be getting it's very own professional flight model soon :) If you own FC3, you can upgrade for free because you already own the plane.
  10. just stick to hunting A-10s and choppers :)
  11. ( ͡º ͜ʖ ͡º)
  12. Funny to see that guy put in his place by Putin!
  13. Thanks! I will try this, as the AI does seem fairly limited after a while :)
  14. I would vote for Putin as president of the World.... he does NOT take shit from anyone!
  15. So after reading all the material in this thread and watching a few instructional videos, I decided to give air to air combat another try. I set up a scenario in the editor; 2x Su-27 Flanker aircraft on "Excellent" skill level against me in the "F-15C" at a range of 50 miles. I was able to kill one with an AMRAAM at about 10 miles after avoiding his shots by using that theory of making the missiles "lose energy." The second one I got with my gun in a dogfight :) Is this a good way to practice? Because I often have a hard time finding servers with people on them (with decent ping) and when I do, everyone's just doing aerobatics :D I'm a total noob here, my many years as a sim pilot have been spent flying choppers or ground attack planes :P
  16. Any idea how much the planes will cost for non backers? I would assume the same price as the FW and the P-51?
  17. The nose guns in fighters were a great idea. Less drag and more accurate at close range!
  18. Use the differential brakes they help a lot
  19. reminds me of flying the Chipmunk :)
  20. What would we be flying it against? If it's a Mustang: 190 has better visibility, but 109 I would rather fly because the K-4 is a late model plane and has much better turn rate than the mustang
  21. Great picks ED, the one with the ship in the background is the best :)
  22. Glider? looks like one Probably my favourite thing to do, especially in New Zealand where the gliding spots are excellent :)
  23. yeah good point thanks anyway
