  1. Governor fail It happened again in my dogfight on demand mission. Governor fail without any failures confirmed in the score window. Also no visible damage... In the track I get shot down two times (2 vs 1). skip these fights. The third fight is where it happpened. No visibile damage (but I was hit one time) and no notification of the failure at all.   2. Multiplayer version added as requested... Please report if the radio menu works in multiplayer for the host. He should be able to see the radio commands from what I recall from non-DCS world.
  3. Regarding the question. You do not explicitly mention and I assume it was on. But, was high blower mode enabled? Nothing strange with the rocket ballistics. I can still direct hit using my preferred reference on the reticle. I attack from the side and try to fit the vehicle between the straight lines in the lower part of the fixed reticle.
  4. They do for the host. At least in v1.1.1.1 they did. I will probably make a version with clients (you can do yourself now if you want) later. Also thinking about a Mustang only version with battles of 16 vs 16 Mustangs or something.
  5. Tested for V1.2.0... I now realize that unlimited Ammo and fuel are still a forced setting. Edit the mission if you want to remove it. In the next version I will remove all forced settings so that everyone can use their own...
  6. I was flying the quickstart dogfight mission the other day. The enemy P51 didn't stand a chance of course (not quite true) and I was thinking: It would be nice if I can spawn a new one... Dogfight on Demand Dogfight on Demand is an interactive dogfight training mission and makes use of the F10 radio menu to allow the player to spawn enemy planes. You will have the following options: 1 - 1 x P51D 2 - 1 x A10C 3 - 1 x SU25T 4 - 1 x L39ZA 5 - 2 x P51D 6 - 2 x A10C 7 - 2 x SU25T 8 - 2 x L39ZA 9 - 2 x Allied P51D 10 - Bonus You can spawn these flights in order or all at once, it depends on you! A multiplayer version is also available. This mission is not suitable for dedicated servers since the host must control the F10 radio commands.   7. I will provide a track if possible. Please take a look at the vulnerability of the governor. It fails in every flight and became almost the main reason to RTB... It also happened in single player without any notification of the failure on the scoreboard. Hopefully I can catch both in a track that is smaller than 5mb.
  8. Hey, First of all: I'm enjoying P51 alot! :) Good work ED! But I've found some problems during flight that could be a bug. I understand the basics of engine management, Manifold pressure, Oil and coolant temperature and pressure and I have read the manual. Problem 1: The governor seems to be the first thing that breaks down on the 51... (although the manual suggests that this is very rare). Even after one hit my governor fails and the RPM goes berserk. This happened so many times now in 1.2.0 (never in 1121) that it can't be a coincidence anymore! Problem 2: Sometimes my engine just stops running without any damage. All temperatures and pressures are in the green zone. I can't think of anything that could be wrong... Hopefully a known issue, because this one is difficult to tackle. Currently I have no tracks that are smaller than 5mb. Most of them are multiplayer.
  9. Yes, I wanted to report this as well... Canopy does not close smoothly anymore, but laggy.

  11. A BMP is not a good target for this strategy, indeed. But at 4 km, what is the chance that you get a direct hit? An direct ATGM hit on you is more likely, assuming that you shoot in a hover... (Or in FF?) I engage anything that fires a 50 cal or less and it works out pretty well. I usually get them with 2 - 6 rockets if my aim is good.
  12. 3-4 km is a bit far. You can get the pipper on target, but a direct hit is almost impossible. Since DCS world came out you need a direct hit even on a soft skinned vehicle. I achieve my best results without laser range finding and at 1-2 km distance performing a high angle attack. At this range the rockets will go to where you aim the pipper without ballistic corrections. I fire 2, 4 or 6 rockets and then break off, preferably at or before 1km distance. From what I see in Afghanistan VCAS video's, this is a quite realistic approach. In the attack run I sometimes use flight director because I'm in forward flight. In most cases I hold the trimmer down, which gives the same effect but is a bit more demanding.

  14. I think the P-51 is great. But I feel that it is some kind of 'dead'. I want to see more servers with the P-51. Both fast and funny dogfight servers and serious missions. I still think that DCS world could become very popular as a WW2 sim if they create a WW2 world around it (models, maps, missions etc). Something must happen to make this beauty more 'mainstream'. :noexpression:

  16. This is not really helpfull or on topic, I know. But try FacetrackNoIR. It's free if you already own a webcam. If not you can look around for $10. Same for Freetrack, but it requires some modification to the webcam. If you want info search the forums and don't hestiate to ask.

  19. Oh no! A bug! Few days ago I sent a tasking to another A10C... Can't see it sir, it's in the air somewhere... Today I've tested this with people on teamspeak. Now what's wrong? - With a SPI at a target, I send it as a task to one of the flight members. Whe he slaves to my datalinked task, he is not looking at the target, but somewhere else. We cross and double checked this. SPI broadcast works fine and is the only way to datalink in v1.2.0 The problem is elevation data. This data is wrong and seems to be at 0ft MSL, instead of 0ft AGL. The SPI broadcast is at the exact same location as the red task icon. So elevation has to be the answer. I hope the testers can reproduce this by trying this for themselves.
