  1. It is FM modulation. I discovered the AM mistake today... You can't hear your own check-in line because there is a part that is not covered by the Russian voice. After some time the JTAC starts talking... - Don't forget to tune in on a frequency. (Wait untill the light fades) - Don't forget to set the SPU-9 selector to VHF-1 and check that VHF-1 master switch is in the 'on' position. - Oh, and not every JTAC is on 32.000 VHF FM. See the channel table in the manual. Then, by using the SPU-9 PTT, select the JTAC and start talking. If you're having problems with the radio menu itself. Check this post. Thanks! Your welcome :)
  2. I don't have any info now but I will be on the lookout! A DCS helicopter YEAH!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: My first find: http://www.aircraft-manuals.com/sudavscsasa3.html Problem is that you have to buy it. And it's French...
  3. Use a higher resolution? I can usually spot them before they spot me if I'm scanning an area in narrow FOV. I can easily distinguish them. They start shooting at 4km maximum so you can almost gun them with a bit of luck.
  4. Released the mod. See first post. Your feedback (or simply appreciation) is welcome!
  5. Added a demonstration video to the first post... Enjoy!
  6. Most servers and almost all open servers are not running SLmod. There are other possibilities to convert coordinates. http://www.earthpoint.us/Convert.aspx Got this on my phone and was able to create a TGT point based on L/L coordinates 30 seconds after receiving the MGRS coordinates. You will have to be aware of the zone you're in all the time though, since the we live in 37T and 38T in our world :P
  7. Added the manual to the first post. It includes some extra info about the PVI-800, the R-828 and about converting MGRS to L/L, which is still required (unless I can find a fix with the help of someone). Waiting for the same someone's help to resolve one of the issue's.
  8. You can enter L/L in the PVI-800 very fast if you do it often... if you use a TGT point you can even ingress on target. However, elevation data is unknown and set at 0 MSL, so ingress on TGT point in mountains is confusing. See current problems in first post. JTAC must use L/L. Can't figure out how to do that it seems that I can't edit this. Willy Pete is working great!
  9. Yes, all of them. P-51 as well. Even player controlled ground units but that wouldn't make sense. But first I'm going to test it for the KA-50 and see if I can use it in multiplayer without breaking compatibility...
  10. Ahhh so now I finally found the thread where I got my inspiration from. Thank you Sir! +1! See link in sig... i can do the same for AWACS I guess...
  11. I was reading a post from someone and he said: If the A10C has JTAC, then why is it not possible to add it for the KA-50? Now that I started learning about modding I thought: Let's have a go at this. Within an hour I was talking to Axeman 1-1 using the R-828 VHF-1 radio. "Smoke is on the deck!" About this mod: This modification will add the JTAC and AWACS to your radio menu. You will be able to communicate with them just as in the A10C. Features: - The R-828 channels were updated to commonly used VHF AM frequencies. - The JTACs and AWACSes options were added to the radio menu and are functioning. - JTAC transmits coordinates in L/L (DMS) format. - Kneeboard integration Demonstration video: Nothing fancy, just showing how (well) it works. Using TGT point creation with ingress on TGT point and Willy Pete. All information about this mod can be found in the manual (separate download, see attachments). This manual also includes instructions for using the R-828 and the PVI-800 for TGT point creation in the form of a step-by-step guide. Version information: V1.0 - initial release V1.1 - Added instructions in the manual for changing the Weapons folder. Check-in line now works. - New sound files to fix broken messages - JTAC now uses L/L V1.2 - Working with DCSW 1.2.1 and up V1.3 - Ground Crew NVG and Turbo Gear bug fixed - Added frequency table on the pilot's kneeboard (By Ebs) - Added better sound for the Russian word 'And' - Optimized folders for installation by JSGME - Updated the manual - JTAC now transmits DMS coordinates in XX'XX.XXX format instead of XX'XX.X V1.4 - Working with DCSW 1.2.4 and up V1.5 - Working with DCSW 1.2.6 and up Thanks to Ebs, Kegetys, Puddlemonkey and the testers for their contribution... 12. Confirmed now they work fine. Started a flight with fuel tanks. In the Rearm and Refuel window the amount of fuel was still 100% after 30 mins of flight. When I dropped them I could see that the engines started to consume from the internal tanks. Of course also confirmed by the fuel gauge. Don't forget boost pumps for your externals!
  13. I've used it only once since DCSW and IIRC the fuel tanks were used first as no fuel was used from my main tanks... Have to test this again though to be absolutely sure...
  14. True. You preserve some energy and increase the flexibility of the bomb. When you instantly lase it will follow a straight path to the target, losing energy and possibly falling short. I've seen a nice picture of this somewhere. Can't remember where though. The altitude entry changes here as well. I don't know why that is actually. Usually I change my release altitude according to the will of my CDU. EDIT: Found it: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1501131&postcount=6
  15. But you want to ensure that a minimum amount of corrections are required for accuracy. So dropping CCRP aided by LASTE ballistic calculations is still a good idea because you want to lase 8-10 seconds before impact and not any sooner.
  16. ATC, Briefing, JTAC or ask a KA-50 pilot on teamspeak for wind at ground level. And the wind is indicated for your current altitude on the page itself before you enter anything. I use this information for calculations most of the time and sometimes you have to estimate what the wind at ground level could be if the options previously mentioned are not available...
  17. Go to the Laste page and enter wind layers and details. I can drop 82's from 10000 ft in windy conditions and kill a soft target with high probability... For example in DRAGON's Weapon training mission I can almost directly hit a target in the 24kts crosswind using two layers with the same wind details. Instructions: Go to the System - LASTE page. - Enter two or more layers ranging from desired release altitude to ground level. Format XX, so 0 ft is 00; 10000ft is 10; etc. - Click to OSB next to where it sais 'Both'. This will allow you to only use wind or temperature correction or leave it on Both if you want to use wind and temperature corrections. (I get good results using wind corrections only) - Go to windedit and enter the winds for all layers in format Hdg/Speed XXX/XX so winds 230@20 kts = 23020. enter temperature if you want to use it in your calculations. - Drop CCRP or CCIP Tip for CCIP: Never release when there is a cross in your pipper. It means the actual release point is not on the HUD. Make a steeper dive and make sure the MRS (minimum range staple) is above the pipper. See manual for details.
  18. False! It is LAlt + ' by default. LAlt + ä for german keyboards.
  19. Beczl is on it... the 23... Mig-29 or Su-27 for me. I'd like the mig/su 35 better but too much info about them is classified and it has to be DCS!
  20. A mic is really awesome. I use voice activation because I don't have a good HOTAS button for it. Communication can be extremely effective when you are in a good team. For example in the KA-50 with three players. We don't need a missile warning system anymore and with the use of datalink all threats are destroyed in seconds :).
  21. I hope this one fits: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=93051
  22. If you fly world you can use the rearming and refueling window. Lalt + ' :)
  23. Dont forget about zzzspace's complete sound overhaul! http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92598
  24. Nice! This should be sticky...
