  1. Does the FM still change after rearm? Or did they accidentally fix it? For me the most annoying bug at the moment due to the fast paced a2g missions I fly with a friend...

  3. I took down two Huey's flown by players with the help of AWACS. When they were above 500' AGL the AWACS was able pick them up. As I got closer they gave themselves away by firing their miniguns. Make sure that you are lower than they are. This makes spotting them easier.
  4. Note speed, AOA, RPM. In fact, I was too heavy for this landing (1800L fuel). Hence touchdown speed was a little high (340 km/h). Anyway, I don't think anyone has ever made a softer touchdown...

  6. So basicly I'm the only one not really looking forward to the F-14. If it's an upgraded A version or B/D version with A2G capabilities I might turn around. But what I really want is a (fighter)-bomber (Mig-27, Su-22, F-105, F-100, A4) light multirole (L-159, A-29A super tucano) or the Su-25(A/KM/SM) I still hope I'm right with the F-105...
  7. Hey, Nice to see that your podcast went live! Definitely going to follow it! The Stray Bear mission sounds really impressive. I'm sure my fellow pilots of the 132nd would love to run that mission on our new dedicated server! "Some squadrons use LotATC for interactive ATC and the Huey for CSAR" :smartass: :)
  8. I really think it is the F-105. - Air force only, no marines - may or may not have two engines depending on how you look at it (two inlets, one engine. If you don't know you might think it has two engines when standing in front of it) - apparently flew in a grim reaper livery
  9. It has two inlets but a single engine. When you look at it from the front you'd think: "It may or may not have two engines" I hope I'm right :D
  10. How about the F-105 Thunderchief? Was only operated by the Air Force and ANG. I would love a fighter-bomber!
  11. The amount of Mk-82's it can carry make up for the looks. But actually, I think the F-100 looks pretty good.

  13. There is definitely something going on... I rearmed after a 1.5hr sortie, my friend was shot down and took a new plane. I rearmed the default loadout and of course my friend also took the same loadout. We then joined up in formation after a difficult take-off (high AOA, low speed). As we were flying the same speed we turned of the AFB switch and engaged full military power. He just pulled away from me under identical conditions (loadout, fuel, direction of flight and ofc atmospheric conditions). maximum speed was 5kts slower (ground speed), but the acceleration difference was far more significant than that! The landing was really weird. After flying a perfect large box the final approach was perfectly on the glideslope, but when my speed reduced to 380km/h I had to compensate really hard to not fall short of the runway. I eventually had to pull 20 degrees AOA, full throttle, only to come down pretty hard on the grass just short of the runway (no damage though). The track is too large unfortunately. It happened 2.5hrs into a complex mission with many players participating.
  14. High altitude performance is still being tweaked. There is a big thread about it here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=130722 Last patch actually improved some of the problems reported already...
  15. We are only considering helicopter flight dynamics here... Graphically FSX definitely beats DCS and will probably even do so when DCSW 2 comes around, provided that you enhance FSX with the right addons...
  16. UH-1H/V Army Model Huey manual with all latest changes (Changes 1-19, last change on 31-12-2002, Americans: 12-31-2002) mentions setting with power as a possible condition in the flight characteristics section.
  17. Or use QFE if departure airport is also where you intend to land. I always set QFE. QFE is a 'virtual' (so is QNH, QFF is real measured pressure. QNH is calibrated to the international standard atmosphere) pressure at which the altimeter reads 0 when you are on the ground.
  18. I've noticed this again in a 1 on 1 with a buddy. I re-armed, he took a new plane. We had the exact same loadout and fuel amount at the point of merging. He was able to significantly out turn me at the same forward speed. Also noticed that sometimes during rearming, you don't notice weight/COG changes (airplane does not move when a new heavy load is attached, whereas a new plane is clearly affected). Could have something to do with it... Maybe it adds the drag from your previous loadout to your new loadout...?
  19. Hey Towsim, My wing recently switched to ARIES. First large-scale event coming up wednesday. Hope it's going to work out well. One question though: Is ABRadio v1.941 compatible with TS3 3.0.16? edit: 99% sure it is compatible, looking at the report a couple of pages back. But someone in my wing said it was not so just need an 'official' yes as I'm not sure if >= 3.0.14 in the manual was written before or after 3.0.16 release.
  20. Well it seems to be pretty clear that the changelog posted by Chizh is correct and that some of the listed items in the OP did not make it to the release.
  21. My information is based on a single take-off though... Will test my climb-out and cruise performance scenario's later today.
  22. LN, is it correct that the FM changes as mentioned in the OP did not make it to the release version. (Most of them marked in bold, except the FPS tweaks, they work) Because I didn't see them in the change log posted in the official announcement and taking off is just as bumpy as before. Haven't tried out high altitude performance... By the way, the FPS tweaks are really awesome. You guys did an outstanding job!
