    Shaking

The shaking over 100kt cruising seems excessive though... Can't see that you could fly comfortably that way.
  2. Now you've jinxed all of us ;)
  3. Do you? I think it's like Sundowner states but if I'm incorrect I'll do em without :) Thanks for the info though, will take a look at that one.
  4. First off, thank you for the excellent module. I'm having a blast with it and while I was trying to do some aerobatics to get a bit more comfortable with the huey I encountered something weird while flying backwards. Short description. Once you're flying backwards fast enough the helicopter starts to bank 90degrees nose up. I can be mistaken but in my experience that shouldn't happen? More something to the lines of it trying to force the nose around instead of trying to get the tail in the ground? Once more excellent work on this and just wanted to put this to your attention. Yorick ps. If I'm wrong my apologies. 2.miz weird tilting.trk
  5. Did my first autorotations and recorded them. Far from perfect but boy are they fun! Hope you enjoy. Yorick http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IT3pWMNfgDk&feature=youtu.be
  6. I don't have a problem with the collective and the corrections made for that thus far. I'm just saying that when you fly over 100kt's the bird becomes under so much vibration it almost looks like the main rotor is not lead-lagging correctly. (not sure if that's modeled, but that is what is looks like to me). Might just be the dash vibrating allot. But that much seems overdone to me. And trim works that you want to trim the force you apply on a stick away. In reality that means that whatever you trim it to that position becomes the new center. In DCS it means the same but you have to remember to bring the stick back to the center since that would only work with a FFB stick I'd imagine. And do you use the trimming hat or the blackshark kind of way?
  7. Also at startup, yes resonance it normal during startup, but this also seems a bit excessive. (ofcourse I don't fly the huey irl). Also the trim seems a bit too sensitive, sometimes when I press it for a short trim correction it moves so much that I need to give a big stick input to correct it. Could be my stick though.
  8. Yes that is retreating blade stall. But what I'm wondering is the heavy shaking of the airframe that starts at 101kts indicated. It seems way excessive.
  9. After flying this baby for a few hours it raises a few questions with me. Why is the helicopter vibrating that much at 100kt and over? And why is it so unstable? Am I missing a windfactor or something because I fly helicopters in real-life and never experienced anything so unstable in cruise...
  10. With heli flying you usually just place your right arm on your upper leg and move the stick with your fingers. You don't move your arm most of the time.
  11. I'm sorry but how can you claim that? Have you flown a DCS Fast-jet?
  12. @Eagleeye Yes it's in euro's. But are you going for cpl? Because at that hourly rate... it's insane.
  13. Uhm 320 for the H269c and something like that for the cabri also. Both incl instructors. Where do you take your lessons?
  14. Mmmmh well since the md500 has quite allot of power it should be possible I imagine. And you can notice IGE in TOH but it's waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overdone. And I fly h-269c/cabri g2/ec-120. And from my experience it feels like the helicopters in ToH are pivoting on a spike instead of hanging from the rotormast. Also when you hover and travel sideways the real thing doesn't tilt that much. The rotormast seems rigid, which is quite weird, because you can see it moving when you're on the ground and move it about.
  15. Since I don't fly the md500 irl I can't be 101% sure but I'm pretty sure you can... the TR uses 30% of the engine power on average. All depends on the altitude and air density. On sea level with ISA atmosphere you can do a 360 with maintaining altitude. You might have to change your collective a bit but not a whole lot. Btw are we talking about IGE or OGE?
  16. But they even got the basics wrong... Isn't that kinda disappointing to you? (And before you think I'm trolling I own all arma versions and ToH).
  17. DCS: Ka-50 is a good training material for flying helicopters in real-life I find.
  18. Well Bi might have done the research, but they didn't succeed on making it work properly. And no I'm not going in that research. They should do it by either go fly themselves and they'll see soon enough what I'm talking about, or hire a few people who do know and let them do it.
  19. Well you claim a whole lot then without actually knowing what you're talking about. No offence but it doesn't seem logical to me. Now I do agree with you they should have the support that is deserved. But not support just for the fact that you're afraid they won't release anything else... If they make a proper product people will buy it. Simple as that. And no I won't make any suggestions to BiStudio's. They're the developer and I'm the customer... Isn't it them who have to do the research and work and me pay and enjoy their game?
  20. Let me ask you one question... Have you actually flown a helicopter? Both with and without hydraulics?
  21. Actually DoL is not that bad. It's more translational lift that bothers me.
  22. Well you can simulate feeling but I think the core is wrong so it would be hard to fix that by changing a few values... It is allot better than before but still very wrong :) Hovering in a real chopper is quite easy because (without wind) the chopper wants to stay there or atleast with a little encouragement it wants to stay there... The engine is way off since when you lower collective fulldown in-game the decent rate is what? 500ft or something? Should be closer to 1500/2000 ft/min. (you can change this quite easily by changing some values). But it's just too much work I guess so let's continue with dcs :)
  23. Oh you are mistaken. I quite like the game but don't think it's realistic at any level... Real choppers handle very very differently.
  24. TOH has a few major flaws in the flight model. The choppers are not stable enough for one. It seems you're on a spike pivoting instead of hanging from the rotor mount (jesus nut). That's the biggest flaw this game has so far. The FM is nowhere near realistic as I experience it.
