Never really understood what the point was of a hud repeater to be honest. I guess now it can no longer be called an "MFD" since there is no "multi function" to speak of

Severe Framerate dips while firing Vikhr Missiles

I suffer from FPS loss with vikhrs if i am in Hover Mode. I can't be sure but i strongly suspect it's because of the first puff of smoke that is caused by the initial short rocket boost to launch the missile (that then gets replaced by a secondary motor.. atleast that's what it appears as in game). This initial smoke puff lasts longer then the actual missile smoke and "gets in the cockpit" i think. Though obviously this wouldn't be the case in the su-25t so you guys may have a different problem. I think i'll start a seperate thread as soon as i get a track file Although trying to recreate it with some quick ME target practice it does seem to be the smoke in the TV display... maybe it's both but having the helo drift trough the initial smoke in hover mode is hard to recreate, also under certain light condition i find the initial puff of smoke very hard to see. It needs to be late night or early morning -
If it's specifically for the maverick , i would hazard a guess and say that it just looks trough the maverick's optical sensor Damn! First time i got sniped

5 bombs on 1 rack? Oh yeah i honestly didnt think about being able to use optical mavs by just using the hud to aim it.. it doesnt need an mfcd at all really

Plenty of aircraft use laser guided weapons without being able to lase them themselves. I think modifying the hud software a little to show a mav targeting reticule is easyer then installing a display that can show the IR image. (Though like i said earlyer i dont know much about the f5 and am not sure if it already has MFCD's or not)

Just copy the JSGME exe to the open beta map and if you launch it it will ask for the new mod map. You can then use that EXE specifically for the open beta mods. That's technically not how this guide does it but it works just as well. You can put a shortcut on your desktop if you need to. PS : Don't forget to generate a new file snapshot

I dont know much about the f-5 but i was also under the impression it could carry mavs. Logical conclusion would say that it can carry laser guided mavs wich arent modeled in DCS

Little update i've opened the mission in the ME and resaved it , flew the mission again and this time the convoy didnt get stuck (i think last time the scout vehicle's wreck was blocking the road, this time it moved off the road before it died) but the Hind problem remained -
I personally don't think it's comparable with arma yet , but it's obviously still being improved so yes eventually this will be great i'm sure of it.

LOL your names. I dont know about you OP , but none of those icons appear when i try that solution. I go to C/programfiles/DCSopenbeta/bin/DCS_updater

Had the same issue in ka-50 campaign deployment mission 1. Message ended after the aircraft that was broadcasting had landed though.

In the second mission in the Deployment campaign , 1 : The 2 Hinds that are covering the convoy bugged out and either went into a permanent hover and slid sideways slowly because of wind , or just completely broke their pathfinding and slid sideways because of it. (They're supposed to RTB and you have to replace their patrol shift) 2 : The convoy halted when the scout vehicle got ambushed, but never resumed their route after i killed everything (labels made sure everything was dead). Was unable to complete the mission because of it. I have a track but it's pretty long because i decided to fly the rest of the mission anyway and land, however i can't upload it , it says "Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing." PS : I think maybe opening the mission in ME and resaving it may fix this , but i decided to report it anyway so it can be fixed in the stock game eventually.

I haven't flown many aircraft in 1.5 yet but i can tell you the su 25T definately still(?) has a smokey exhaust trail

No you don't understand.. the game literally cannot change your control settings while the game is running , that's a limitation of the game not something ED put it on purpose.

Can you no longer pause in 1.5 then? Because i definately remember being able to pause multiplayer games (probably because i was hosting, but still). I understand that its hard coded into the game or whatever and that that's not something ED's gonna want to change , but why not let people do it while the game is paused anyway.. it would make small multiplayer (2-4 players) much more enjoyable. If only the host can pause then on large servers it wouldnt matter but on small servers you could just have the host pause it for a second. I personally know a guy that i fly with a lot who only plays dcs once every month or so , and almost every time he forgets something and needs to back out to go check it. It wouldnt bother me if i had to pause it for a second so he could make changes

Overall it's nice but i'm really worried my 8GB of ram isnt going to cut it, i know that it's technically enough but i already couldnt get on larger multiplayer servers before 1.5 so now it's just a matter of time untill i run into a mission that i just can't run again, especially with nttr :(

I don't see below decks ever being simulated since it would probably take a ton of work to make work properly and really isnt worth it. It's not like every single sortie starts below decks , aircraft are parked up top too
