1 year ago i bought my TIR5... and absolutely happy with it... before that i used freetrack for a certain time, but it doesn´t work very well... my cockpitview stumbled from left to right, up and down... it made me crazy... also i had to close the windows and to put anything behind me away that had some kind of shiny surface... with TIR everything no problem... and the framerate and its smoothness when turning your head is absolutly brillinant.. so get your ass up and buy it

But that problem isn´t too bing, because the vikhrs can only be shot from 7 km max... of from a little more distance if you stay on high altitude... but you won´t tell me that in rl you would go to 5000 m agl in order to strike a target, because you would be a sitting duck to every plane and long range gta defence

I want my BS2 back... it f....s me up that i have waited for months til the problem with the datalink has been solved... and right in the same update the steering with the g940 has been messed up... and ed doesn´t post a statement on this or even release a hotfix for that... i´m really disappointed so far... how long does it take to be solved? please hurry

Thx for your answer, but i think, as earlier mentioned, that this is a bug of the actual version... because talking to my wingmann isnt a problem... when i want them to attack a datalink target i always hear: "unable"... when try try to transmit a datalink-Target (of course after doing the "reset-thing" ;-)) the send/Mem-Button starts flashing... for me it was important to know, if the right datalink-frequency is used, when i am able to talk to my wingman by radion... so if the frequency selection of these both is connected to each other...

Since installing 1.2.1 i´m not able to use the datalink for target-/NAV TGT-/Ingresspoint-designation... i´m absolutely shure, that i´m doing it the same way i have been doing it for the last 2 years... does sombody else got aware of this problem? The manual says, that before using the Datalink you should be shure that my wingmen and i use the same vhf-Frequency... i have to admit, that i never payed attention to this... it just worked well, so i didn´t have to... for my understanding: Which frequency the manual is talking about? where can i change it?

Thx for your answer... i tried "Gauntlet" and you´re right the performance is really poor... based on my current settings i only receive about 12-14 frames when i approach the first enemy contact... (btw i wasnt able to play the mission, because my wingman werent able to follow my data-link-Target-designation)

ED really did it... with yesterdays patch my framerate rose by about 70 %... thanks guys... you did it

After applying todays patch... a whole new kind of sharkflying occured to me... from about 25-30 frames at the start of Sukhumi Freeflight Mission (instant action) it went up to 55 frames and didnt go beyond 45 the most of the flight. Before that i normally had to deal with about 20 frames throughout the misson... and you dont want to know how many frames i had when landing at the airport... (pssst... i´m telling you: 10-13 frames)... whatever you did, dear ED... THANK YOU... thank you very much... Is there anybody else who realised something like that?

Ok, i tested this...when i fly over sukhumi the gpu-load is nearby 100%... the next test, with the flight over a heavy battle in low settings provides a a stable framerate at about 35... does this really mean i´d have to buy a new gfxcard? What does the sentence "mine are 7fps high, 18 low, and activity idling in both cases" mean? But there ist one thing i dont understand: Many people here on this forum have older gfxcards, an worse cpus but they talk about having 50-60 frames in about the same preferences in their game options??? How can this be? Looking forward on what viper said, that there a some users with more framerate-problems than others - and that i am one of them - so a fix can fix it! ;-)

how do i get the old high.lua... i deleted 1.2.0... so can you send me yours in some way?

Are there some other guys who think, that my videocard is the bottleneck? Aren´t there some other possibilities?

i dont believe that that my radeon is the bottleneck, because our gfx cards are of nearly the same generation, age and so on... i also thought that our precious game would be much more cpu-thirsty... btw: the new water indeed is really cool... thx by now

A short time ago I set up a new system with the following specs: i5-3570K @ 4.500 GHz (stable) 8 GB Win 7 64bit Ati Radeon HD 5870 Game installed on SSD TrackIR 5 I run DCS with the following options: Textures high Scenes High Civ. Traffic low Water low Visib. Range High Shadows high res. 1680*1050 Aspect 16:10 screen 1 Cockpit res. 1024 Msaa 4* HDR norm. Clutter/Bushes 0 m Trees 6000m Preload... 150 000 disable aero Fullscreen Tsaa mirrors off i applied the recent version of DCS 1.2.1 with following update When i now start the instant action misson "Freeflight Sukhumi" i do not receice more than 28 frame/sec. when i look straight forward. By the time i played the 1.2.0 version i also didnt have more frames than about 30. By reading numerous threads i come to the conclusion that there should be more possible. Can anybody help? what i´m i doing wrong? what is the limiting thing? some possbility to gain more fps? Please help... thx in advance
