  1. Please not that Wolf is flying level passes and turns and the moment so any cruise power settings will do. Flying formation with cruise power settings is quite a relaxing experience. I certainly would not recommend these settings for any more strenuous than a gentle turn. It is also worth saying that, personally (and I think most other formation pilots would agree with me), it is always beneficial to run the same settings as the leader. As you gain experience, you throttle bracket (the amount you move the throttle forwards and backwards) will become less and less, eventually resulting in very small movements as you start to understand the aircraft more. Torque is not an issue here as there is not a big difference when you have a small throttle bracket.
  2. Welcome Echo, great introduction! :)
  3. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but when you say more memory channels, do you mean how many sticks of RAM the CPU can use? I'm just getting into this PC building stuff
  4. Thanks for the help guys :) All parts are now on their way to me. I did buy the EVGA GTX 670 in the end. HiJack, thanks for the site :) I decided to go for the 2600k as I know a friend has one and it runs great. :)
  5. Cheers guys :) My PSU is mid range. It's not cheap and nasty but it's not a top of the line one either. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00647M59C/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 It will have to do for now. REALLY can't afford to spend anymore on one
  6. Thanks for the help :) Here's what parts I've got so far: Intel Core i7-2600K ASUS 1155 MAXIMUS IV EXTREME REV 3.0 16GB Corsair 1600 Mhz RAM Nvidia EVGA GTX 670 (2GB) 850 Watt PSU 500GB HD
  7. Will this case: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004O8X8VC/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i00 Fit this Motherboard? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004OA2262/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00
  8. So, Here are the final specs... Time to go and do some overtime I think... Intel Core i7-2600K ASUS 1155 MAXIMUS IV EXTREME REV 3.0 16GB Corsair 1600 Mhz RAM Nvidia EVGA GTX 670 (2GB) 850 Watt PSU 500GB HD
  9. Keep the power up and keep the control input :)
  10. Brilliant film ;)
  11. Something to consider, Thanks Pyroflash :) I'm wondering whether it's worth getting everything and having the system built then or if I should build with the parts I have no and replace the gfx card later?
  12. Brilliant, thank you for all the help, I appreciate it :)
  13. Ah great :) I will have a look around and see what I can find for a decent price :) How about other parts that I would need that I don't have on my list? Fans etc... I'm not sure about the smaller parts and I would like to have everything in place before I send the parts off to my friend for assembly and testing :)
  14. Thanks again Kuky, I do have the unlocked version and from what I've read, I can overclock to 3.8 Ghz, which seems like a pretty decent amount to me :) Graphics cards wise, what is a good card that would enable me to max out DCS? I've gotta say, I think I'd rather go Nvidia than ATI. ATI drivers are just too much hassle.
  15. Cheers Kuky, The 5750s were given to me and I will use them for now until I can afford to spend more on a new Graphics card in the next couple of months :) I'm hoping that this will be a strong enough system to last me for a while :)
  16. Hi All, I'm building (Or should I say a friend is building for me) a new PC. I have to get all the parts together first though and I could do with a little help. I have acquired some major parts, but it's the smaller parts that I'm not sure of. Currently I have: Intel i7-2600 (3.4 ghz) CPU ASUS 1155 MAXIMUS IV EXTREME REV 3.0 Motherboard Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Blu Memory Four Module Kit 2 x ATI HIS HD5750 with Crossfire bridge (Not sure if the mobo supports Crossfire, no big deal if it doesn't) Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII 6Gb/s 16MB Cache 3.5 inch Internal Hard Drive OEM SATA cables. I know I need a PSU ( Although I'm not sure what size) and I need a case. My question is, What else do I need? Thanks :)
  17. I suppose it depends how much Crash decides to do. Either way, it's still going to be awesome the fly ;) :pilotfly:
  18. As long as we get a Hunter, It doesn't make a difference to me :) but...
  19. Thank you guys, appreciate the help :)
  20. Hi Guys, I will be buying Track IR 5 soon, with the Track Clip Pro, and I was wondering if you guys had any experience of good places to buy from? Reasonable price (Not necessarily the cheapest), good service and postage all come in to this. Thank you :)
  21. Nice work Crash, Looking forward to the DCS module! :)
  22. A gift from The Horsemen to the VH team arrived at my house this morning. It will be divided up amongst the team and shipped out. Thank you guys, we appreciate it! A Brief update on the P-38:
  23. No Track IR for me either, but I will be buying it soon. A sim like this deserves it :)
  24. The first P-51 I ever saw fly! Beautiful aircraft flown equally well by the Hardwick Warbirds pilots
  25. What's the point in flying a high fidelity sim with just the gun site showing? It's like owning a ferrari and never driving above 30 mph...
