I have the original Lock On release, and I have Lock On Platinum. So just install Lock On and FC3 takes care of the rest, correct? Thnx \/
-
Thnx guys! Success! One more question... For FC3, do I need to install Lock On Platinum first, or does buying FC3 cover everything? \/

I've had DCS A-10C installed for quite a while. I just installed DCS World and the full version of the P-51D. When I start DCS World, it shows that I need to buy DCS A-10C. How do I get DCS World to see my A-10C program? Thnx, \/

Peter is correct. To be more precise, that term is "Critical Angle of Attack".

I found that I was looking too closely. The trim tab is currently moving in the wrong direction. I just didn't notice that the whole rudder was moving with it because I was looking at a zoomed in view of only the tab. I stand corrected and note that it's a visual bug. So, when this is fixed, we should visually see the trim tab should move to the left for right rudder trim, and to the right for left rudder trim input. Thnx \/
-
From what I see, the "TAB" moves right and the rudder responds correctly, making the the nose yaw to the left. Not good when everything about the propulsion system pulls the nose left all ready. I'm currently on a 4-day trip that finishes tomorrow. When I get home, I'll post a screenshot of the tab actually deflected from center-line within the rudder. \/

I posted a thread about take-off rudder trim settings. Trim tab should be to the left, rather to the right... However, the tutorials ARE outstanding. \/
-
Yes, I went to external view, saw the tab deflected to the right. Furthermore, during climbout, the inclonometer is unnessicerily deflectected more than a balls width to the left. Proper trimming prior to take off should indicate a centered ball. Try trimming to the left and you'll see a marked improvement in stable flight charateristics. \/

Having trouble with laternal control on the ground during take-off rolls? The tutorial instructs rudder trim to the right. This deflects to trim tab to the right, pushing the rudder to the left, therefore yawing the nose left. This is pouring gas on the fire for virticle axis instability. The P-51's Merlin rotates clock-wise which mean everything about it yaws the nose to the left via P-factor, Torque, and Gyro-scopic recession. Try trimming the rudder tab to the left 3 to 5 degrees. Red Tails Movie - Crazy ass cobra/upswing manouvre?!?!?
BSS_Vidar replied to Aries's topic in Military and Aviation
Well, this P-51 can't do that, it would depart way before pitch-back due to speed bleed off. The movie had some nice eye candy, but historicaly... it was HORRIBLE. \/ -
Bugs noticed so far.. 1. Now getting square bright flashes in the graphics. About one or two ever 5 to 10 seconds - seems like someone is taking a photo flash every now and then. 2. AI takes a lot more hits. Checked my event log to confirm, as well as watched the track. The AI took some purdy hard hits, and not even a fuel leak. \/

I was about to update my post before anyone responded. One of the Blacksheep members just installed over the top of the first and says its running great! \/

Hate to sound like a NooB, but how do you convert Tracks to video suitable for YouTube? \/

Do we un-install 1.1.2.0, then install 1.1.2.1? or does it install over the first? \/

Prop pitch controls RPM, Throttle controls power settings. \/
-
I noticed the initial power setting right off. Before hitting the "Pause key" to start, I back off the throttle AND the Prop pitch axis just a tad. Once I start the fight, I immediatly push both full forward to get the full indicated RPM needed. Yo-Yo, I'm not sure how to measure what you're asking for via the game sir. Does the sim have such a measuring tool within it? Hopefully someone who goes beyond just flying sims like this knows how to do that in the game can help you out. I don't even get into building missions like some folks do. I just fly. I am a pilot in real life, so reading other aircraft's energy state visually I can do. It seems your suggestion to add weight to the bogie sounds like a semi-solution for now. I haven't tried it yet. Let's hope that popping into a zoom-climb from a low speed rolling scissior will be vastly reduced. \/
-
Thnx for the input Yo-Yo. I guess that's why my fights are streatching out passed a half hour, or longer. I only let my speed drop below 200 IAS when I actually get the AI manipulated into a rolling scissor. I've found I can get the AI into a turn fight after a series of horizonatal scissors and tuck-under breaks. With a knotch or 2 of flap, the plane handels really well. I have no problem out manuevering the AI. It's only the AI's ability to zoom climb from from low-speed parameters that I find questionable. I'm able to defeat the majority of the AI's attemps to pop off a few rounds. There are very few opportunities to get a clean shot on him however. But then again, if it were easy, I'ld get board real quick! LOL What supprised me even more is a squadron-mate discovered that the AI is not even set to Ace settings. LOL - Humble Pie. I'll give'em a full bag of gas, and drop mine a tad and let you know how it goes. S! \/
-
Is this not available with the beta? Just wondering. A squadron-mate and I can not log in on-line via the multiplayer icon. We DO get a "account all ready exists" but we can't find a way to fly together. Thnx, \/

I am using the CH Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, Throttle Quad, and Pro Pedals in a combined map. I showed the same issue on my first start-up of the game. The game will have a bunch of pre-assigned axis listed -even multi-assigned axis to one function on all controllers. Ignore that and manually delete them all. Once you've cleaned out all that, start assigning each axis manually to the function you want them to. \/

This has been a challenge, and frusterating. First off, getting the curves set for the flight controls helped somewhat. In a turn fight this plane starts to depart a wing i.e flick out, at around 170mph. The AI is questionable. The AI energy flying is tough to match. As an experiment, I've tried to match the AI movements without trying to actually engage, but my P-51 just won't do it. (Prop Hi RPM and throttle is max same configuration) I was pissed when I got the AI in a matched speed canopy to canopy rolling scissor down low. I was just starting to think I may get the upper hand, then all of a sudden the AI goes right into a friggin extended ZOOM Climb. REALLY? I had his exact speed and tried to follow. My plane departed at least 500ft below his. The longest single fight I've had against this AI so far was a 50min knuckel draggin' turn-n-burn. The track is actually purdy kewel to watch. My logbook shows 7 kills and 12 deaths. Not what my ego is use to. How is everyone else fairing against this AI fighter model? S! \/ Blacksheep 1

I just got it installed this morning and set up my CH products. I'm using 4 CH controllers for this sim. Fighterstick, Pro Throttle, Throttle Quad (for additional axis input i.e prop pitch mixture, radiator) and Pro Pedals. I must say I was FLOORED by the aircraft, its sounds, the flight model (I flew a Pony-D in 2005) and the Graphics! Wow! just WOW! As a retired Naval Aviator - currently an airline pilot, I hope you guys continue down this road. Carrier operations in my favorite F-4U Corsair in this medium would make me leave all other sims. I think you guys just blew IL2 Cliffs of Dover right out of the water - and did it with just one plane. BSS_Vidar Blacksheep 1

Well, after 4 attempts to install this sim, I finally had enough dealing with Norton. I uninstalled my entire Xfinity security suite, uTorrented the P-51D again, then in installed without a hitch. I'll re-install my security suite and hope it doesn't affect the playability. \/

Ahhhh! Everytime I try to install, the above file gets deleted. I thought I turned Norton off, but I guess not. Any ideas on how to get around this? \/

I'm not sure what Norton is doing. I finially got the World_end.exe file to download, but when I tried to run it to install, Norton flaged it and automatically deleted it and said, "you computer is now safe". I don't know much about Norton and what settings to alter to stop it from doing this. I've deleted all the P-51 files from my computer and will uTorrent them again when I get this Norton issue resolved. \/
