Check out "Vertical' magazine. It is a rotary wing industry periodical. One of the important advice from them, is when landing, sometimes on departure, and ALWAYS in hover, is to think as applying pressure to cyclic and collective, and ATR pedals, not full-on raging deflection. For our purpose , sitting behind desk, it is important to arrange the controllers so arms and hands remain comfortable natural position. It does not do ,of having wrists in pain, while holding hover (W/O autoHover).

I tend to agree. Now that 1.5.6 and 2.0.5 DRN has been resolved! Mig21 is now very twitchy, extremely sensitive to roll, and minor PIO. I flattened roll, rudder, and pitch curves to have 3 in deadzone, 10 in curve. Initially I like nimble handling, then found myself with hands full of airplane. Now , not so much. I noticed that as the stick deflects out deadzone, aircraft twitch while rolling, almost like a maximum snap roll. In pitch the same twitchy oversensitive pitch creates small PIO, but makes AG targeting, strafing, and rockets significantly more difficult. Recovery (landing) is now very difficult. As soon as I touchdown, even the smallest rudder deflection, makes aircraft snake on runway, snapping off the main gear, and or tilting the aircraft. Drag chute. refuses to pop-out about in 80% of time. I have not forgotten to zero out gear breaks, so the air pressure is maintained.

One question what is the fidelity of M2KC flight model?

BAP-100, a bit small and old. Why would M2K not carry Matra Durandals. -

Anti-runway weapon in M2000? Aught, there is no Durandal in DCS. However the anti-runway mission has been largely reasigned to standoff weapons, like JSOW, BK90, and cruise missiles. Modern short range air defenses, preclude any realistic expectation of asset survival when deploying any weapon that requires target overflight. That said, in a simulation, I would not mind having Durandals for M2000, F-16, and F-15E. If we ever get a decent Tornado GR4 module, then JP233 would be cool. I recall back in the day, with my first flight sims, Falcon 3.0, Falcon 4.0, and Jane's F-15E, how fun it was to fly 100 feet on full afterburner, when deploying durandals. -

				pcnsl.exe deactivation DOES NOT WORK!
DaveRindner replied to DaveRindner's topic in General Problems
As soon as I fixed 1.5.6 Mig21bis DRM, I lost it in 2.0.5 Upd 1. The proccess of fixing Mig-21 in 1.5.6 broke it in 2.0.5. Woe onto me! Why me, why me? -
Plenty of strike options in DCS. Needs a high fidelity Air superiority platform. OK a gen 4+ multi-mission fighter bomber. Single seat or AI WSO. F-16C/D/E Blocks 50, 52,60 with Sniper pod and IRST as per UAE block 60. Grippen Mitsubishi F.2 Chengdu J-10 PLA Air Force If strike is what market demands. SIGH! Try something interesting SEPECAT Jaguar. Lockheed Martin A-4R Fighting Hawk of Argentine AF and Naval Aviation. Xian JH-7 Flounder Chinese PLAN Naval Aviation Unusual aircraft from 1960's and 1970's YAK-28. Bicycle landing gear with outriggers. Sud Aviation Vautour. de Havilland Sea Vixen. RN Fleet Air Arm variant. With HMS Ark Royal. Audacious class CV An extended DCS wide mission planning system. Fuel calculations, route selection, threat avoidance, weapons selections and employment. Emphasis on OCA missions. In RL, every tactical aircraft have their own Mission Planning systems, as part of acquisition.

				pcnsl.exe deactivation DOES NOT WORK!
DaveRindner replied to DaveRindner's topic in General Problems
Worked finally. Procedure that worked for me. Deactivate in DCS World (stable release) Reactivate in DCS World Open Beta Upd 1. Unfourtunatly it cost me some 5 DRM tries , before it worked. -
I say again, it does not work. I have tried it both on DCS stable and Open Beta C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21BIS\bin\pcnsl.exe "Unable to deactivate the product license due to significant changes of the computer hardware configuration. Only valid licenses can be deactivated. To obtain an error report and send it to product technical support, click the corresponding button." and Open Beta C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\MIG-21bis\bin\pcnsl.exe "Unable to deactivate the product license due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Only valid licenses can be deactivated. To obtain an error report and send it to product technical support, click the corresponding button." The process, as described is flawed. I have emailed support as per instructions, but have not heard from them back.

Neh! Does not work in 1.5.6 OpenBeta. Refuses to deactivate or reactivate with "Failed integrity" error message. I tried DRM multiple times. Uninstalled and reinstalled MIG21 module. Starting with trash canning MIG21 module in Module Manager. When it comes time to activate it fails. For now, it appears, I have lost MIG21 module. Suck of it is, everytime I try it sucks up a activation #. -

I did inactivation/reactivation in 1.5.6 update 1 open beta. Mig module works in my 2.0.5 Update 1 DCS with NTTR. But it refuses to reactivate in latest 1.5.6 -
One question what is the fidelity of Viggen flight model? Is it 'realistic'? Does it feel 'realistic'? OK this is subjective. Are start up, operation, and weapons employment procedures detailed and accurate? Do they feel 'real'. Specifically: Systems, avionics, and engine management. Weapons employment , effectiveness, and envelopes. Realistic stress limits on landing and TO. Flight departure proneness, and departure/spin recovery. Communication systems. AM/FM VHF/UHF, ILS, TACAN/GPS tactical navigation. Do you consider it money well spend.? I am more of procedures and tactics, and skills kind of guy, vs. action and victory. Though those are nice.

				deactivation reactivation process failed.
DaveRindner replied to DaveRindner's topic in General Problems
The instructions are insufficent, incorrect, or nonFunctional. After deactivation, the reactivation screen issues the following error after entry of code. "Unable to run the application due to integrity fault of the Activation Key. Re-enter a valid Activation Key or re-activate the application. If the error recurs, click "Error report" and send the report to product technical support." Check your process please. Thank you DR -
Oh..crapolla deactivation reactivation proccess failed. Tottally failed , and probably I did something. What happened is that , I was away, and when I came back, and turned the machine back on, I ran DCS 1.5.6 updater BEFORE I knew there was a procedure for MIG-21. After 1.5.6 update 1 update finished , and MIG-21 issued activation error, I reentered code, and activation failed. Now deactivation failed, and I am out of sequence, and not sure what to do.

Lord knows F-16C Block50/52 hi fidelity sim with professional flight model and advanced systems modeling is needed, and would be welcomed. However Sniper pod and APG-63(V) radar, guided and AA weapons, sensors, and JHMQS, and communication systems are somewhat classified, and DCS has policy of using only unclassified data. Since F-16C is still in use on every continent except Australia and Antarctica, and is still in production, there is much at stake. So there would have to be a lot of compromises and unsupported systems. A-10C suffers from that. However F-16C is single most important air system in NATO , allied Middle East, and Asian air forces, and many DCA, OCA air-ground tactics revolve around F-16C platform.
 -
To replicate it, just go to Instant Action (for Mig21) and select COLD START. The mission starts with Mig next to another Mig on one side, and two F-16's on the other. The canopy is open. Activate FPS display and attempt to pan around the cockpit, and F2 outside view.

Some have said that also. That wkstation cards Quadro and FireGL, don't do as well as GTX and Radeon , in games. Something with the drivers. Unfortunately, GTX (don't know about FireGL or RadeonPro) has issues with my other applications. Some IT guys told me that Quadro and GTX, of equivalent level, are identical product, with Nvidia drivers accessing or disabling features, so that GTX does not cannibalize Quadro sales. I am contemplating , on my next home wkstation, equipping it with Titan X Pascal, or 1080ti. However I don't know about their compatibility and performance with today's OpenGL , and OpenCL.

OK then. NTTR and DCS 2.0 have been around so long, I suppouse I stopped thinking of it as Alpha. I guess the production build will ship at v2.5
 -
OK Then. Mig21 performance (FPS wise) has been degrading and degrading in NTTR 2.0.X, and with update 1 its down to single digits FPS. My machine has not changed, drivers have not changed only DCS and modules. As of now MIG21bis kind of sucks in NTTR. Machine specs; I7-3770 3.4/3.7 ghz 32 gb ram nvidia quadro 4000 . Reference drivers 369.09 1 TB SATA3 Make and model : HP Z420 workstation.

Obvious things; F-16C/D Block50 and higher. Module. UAE Block 60, Blk72-V (A man can dream). Somewhat realistic ATC, tower, and ground handling/plane director features. Modules of my desire ; F-16C as above Japanese F2, with HarpoonER, and SLAM Tornado AV-8B (USMC) with LHA Typhoon Detailed SU-27 or Mig-29 module, with PFM , and ASM, 29K Naval variant UH-60L and or MH-60R Blackhawk modules. AH-64D(A will do also), but needs to detailed AH-1W with Night Targeting-navigation Sytem, detailed. Tiger MI-28N (will accept MI-24 in place, but prefer MI-28) LSO and director lights for US Navy frigate and cruiser helicopter operations. Multiengine cargo/gunship. C-130 family, or C-27. I would not expect SPECTRE AC-130! But something that would require multiengine rating in RL. A-4 or F-4 Last generation A-7E as operated by Hellenic AF, and Desert Storm era USN A-7E. Sepecat Jaguar Russian Navy variant SU-25, with Kuznetzov compatability. Any low tech , non-tail dragger, and not covered by X-Plane or MS Flight Simulator and 3rd party. Weapons payload, and sensor expansion module packs for purchase; AIM-9X, AIM-120C-5/7/8, AIM-120D, Chinese stores for Chinese aircraft, Israeli Python4,5, and Derby, GBU-15, Popeye(for B-52H) bomb, MK-65 mines, R-77 family of missiles and plumbing upgrade for SU-27, SHAR night/low light attack sensor upg for KA-50, R-73 for KA-50, JHMQS with AIM-9X Block1, Sniper/Pantera pods. Big ticket AI , ground units, and installations. KC-10 replacing KC-135 U-2R (AI only and need not be 'realistic') Chinese strike and fighter aircraft. Aircraft that are unique to China, and are not copies of Russian types. LHA vessel French carrier Expeditionary airfield runway. Forward deployed refuel-rearm point for helicopters. Road dispersion runways. Infantry at squad, platoon, company level. (This should be easy). With CA Armor and artillery units as section, platoon, and battery . With CA M-60A3 MBT (Turkish) with CA Across the board accurate fuel flow for altitude, met, and drag condition of player and AI. Theaters; Korea SCS/Taiwan North Pacific (Aleutian Islands and Bering Straight), Baltic Sea/Scandanavia, Expand NTTR to include Ft.Irwin, 29 Palms(MAGWC), China Lake Iceland-Greenland (aka North Atlantic) for modern scenario Pt. Mugu US Naval Aviation weapons range. or Pensacola, FL US Naval Aviation training center or Norfolk, VA US Navy East Coast naval aviation training area.
