  1. There are already missions and campaigns available, but they are buggy, so I think its probably best to stick to learning to fly and operate the Hog as of right now. There are training missions available as well, though only a couple of them have voice overs.
  2. Id say its still got quite a way to go before its ready to be shipped, but it is, as other people have said, already very impressive. There is quite a few bugs that need to be ironed out, and it does crash now and then. Furthermore alot of the scenery hasnt been added yet, Nevada feels very barren for instance, but that's what betas are for. I have no doubt that this will be one of the best sims ever created for the home computer, if not the best. Oh, I nearly forgot, the HDR light effects, especially with the sun look awesome, but they do demand quite a bit from you computer.

  6. There are still no good high poly versions of the MiG-29 for Lock-On or Flaming Cliffs.

  13. No, you wont, but if ED ever release the tools needed to make new flyable aircraft for DCS, then you might :)
  14. The anti-collision strobe blinks, as does the formation lights on the wings, the position lights near the air intake, and the position light on the tail.
  15. Have a look at this drawing John, it shows the placement of all the external lights on the F-16. Though some versions have extra lights, like the norwegian F-16s.

  17. Seeing as the RNoAF has decided to scrap all their remaining F-5s by the end of the year, I decided to save one of them. She does need alot of tender love and care before she can take to the skies again though, she has been stored in a cold and damp shelter for the last three-four years, and all the paint work needs to be redone (that's why we've stripped her of all paint), alot of parts have to be replaced, and everything in the cockpit has been removed. Here's a couple of pictures of her in her current state. Hope you like her ;)

  19. Finally got it to work, apparently "export selected" doesnt work, but just "export" did. Thanks for the help Crow :)
  20. Thanks for the reply Crow, Ive tried adding a texture to the model, and placing the .bmp in the temptexture folder, but still nothing. The system unit scale is set to one unit = one meter, so that shouldnt pose a problem either... The box is about 20m x 6m, so it should show up. I dont remember having any problems like this when I made models for FC.

So Im just messing about with the ED plug ins, Ive got 3ds Max 7, and I installed the plug ins just as the read me said, by dragging the .dlls to the root folder of Max and then dragging the files in the plugins folder to the plugins folder in Max. Everything seems to be working, then I make a small test model something like a box, and export it to a .lom file, no problems so far, I name the file F18A.LOM and replace the file that is located in the Bazar\World\Shapes folder. I then start the game up, load a custom mission with an F-18, to have a look at my "model", and nothing shows up... I have tried assigning materials to the model in max as well, but still nothing. If anyone has any idea as to what I have done wrong Id be really happy if you can steer me in the right direction :)

  23. There's nothing wrong with it, it looks great, but being able to add user created sceneries as well just makes it even better in my opinion :)
  24. Lets hope that the fact that we'll now be able to add third party scenery without having to overwrite anything means that we can start building this kind of sceneries for DCS as well :)
  25. That is without a doubt a bug (no pun intended), have a look at video, you can clearly see them moving both up and down :)
