    x-plane 9

If you're trying to decide between FSX and XP I would say go with FSX. If you are curious about XP then download the demo, that's what I should have done... I bought XP9 and I really cant stand it, but then again some people love it. X-Plane looks very dated, and you wont get the systems simulation that you may want when you buy a civilian flight sim. Have they removed the looping ATC-chatter by the way?
  2. It will, but probably at quite low settings.
  3. Do they warm up the cockpit for the pilot as well? :P
  4. Looks good, lets hope it plays well too ;) The youtube video has apparently been removed, and I cant get into the developer's website, but the screens are nice ;)

    UFO?

    Its a weather balloon ;)
  6. Have them do another review of the finished sim as well ;)
  7. I really liked their F-16D, in my opinion it flies better than most combat aircraft in FSX, still its not perfect.
  8. Its decent, the external model is a bit off, and its nowhere near the complexity that we have in DCS, but as an FSX add-on it's certainly not the worst one out there. But I have to agree with RogueRunner, combat aircraft simply do not work very well in FSX.
  9. I dont know why, but I really like the F-2, its a real beauty, maybe even more so than the original F-16.
  10. Im guessing that there simply isnt time to do it... This scenery looks great though, looking forward to following this project :)
  11. The most interesting aspect is how these rumors start. "OMG high poly Strike Eagle model in Warthog, that MUST be the next flyable then!!!1", even though ED's never stated that the Strike Eagle is a possible candidate for an iteration in the DCS-series.
  12. Getting to the point of contact is quite easy, keeping the aircraft in position while fuel is transferred is where my problems start :P
  13. Id actually prefer a C-model over the Superbug any day, with lots of LEX vapor of course ;)
  14. Ive seen threads about Flight Pro Sim popping up at different aviations forums rather frequently lately, have they recently started some form of aggressive marketing or something? Flight Pro Sim is actually an open source project called Flight Gear, that is free to download, but it has been re-packaged and renamed by someone else (and by that I mean, someone other than the people who made it) and is now being sold as Flight Pro Sim. You can read more about that here
  15. I actually think that the DCS-series is starting to look quite good, I would however love to see some more variety in the scenery. Every singe town and city in DCS looks the same, as do the ground textures, but still, its getting there, Warthog is a huge improvement over BS. And as said before, I know that the ED team has a lot on their hands, and that there simply isnt enough time to add everything that we would like to see, this could easily be added by the community, if they just released the tools.
  16. Hehe, yeah, it has'nt exactly been overlooked, but it does look incredible! :)
  17. I use Windows 7 64 bit.
  18. Id buy it.
  19. That's right, they're not very realistic, but its better than nothing I suppose. The lights are gorgeous in Warthog, no more sickly yellow lights like we had in Flaming Cliffs :)
  20. I was hoping that they would add some better looking and more realistic vapor trails in, but it looks like they've just pasted the old ones from the Lock-On days in... Lets hope it's a placeholder.
  21. Its still not the worst sim Ive heard of, I would much rather play this than a forklift simulator for instance :P
  22. I think youre going to have to settle for the Harrier in "Jet Thunder" ;)
  23. Merry Christmas to the ED team, and all members of these boards. :)
  24. Then they would have to throw in some crop duster missions as well :P
