Could this be made into a sticky for the Home Cockpit section?

Are you activating your profile before launching DCS? In the system tray(in the lower right where the clock is) you should have an icon of the throttle of the X52. If you right click it and go to the top you should see the names of your profiles. Select one and the throttle icon will now have a green box behind it and your MFD on your throttle should indicate the name of the profile being used. Hope that helps.

I'm looking at staring a glare shield build to sit on top of my second monitor. I would like to have it be functional as well. If any of you have built, or know of some threads with pics of builds, of the glare shield with functioning T-handles, would you be so kind to post the link. Thanks Mike

Helios- Extra Interface Removal
0utLAW replied to 0utLAW's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
SOLUTION; Create another profile and copy what you need from the first profile to the second. -
Hey guys quick question for you. Does anyone know how to remove an extra Interface that shows up in Helios? I will be posting on Gadroc's forum as well. More detail; I have a GGG GP-Wiz40MAX board I was using with a set of panels I made. I since have made other panels and I now have that original GP-Wiz board in one of those panels. The problem is that Helios Profile editor still sees the original GP-Wiz40 board along with the newly configured board. So Helios sees GP-Wiz40(Original), GP-Wiz401(same board just used in a new panel), GP-Wiz402(second GP-Wiz40 board).

I wish! You're lookin' at it. :( This has to be a cheap, portable, multi-function deskpit/computerdesk/workbench...

What is the best Joystick for this awesome simulation
0utLAW replied to hamodi99's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the X52 Pro and I have to say it does a pretty good job in this sim(not game IMHO). I would give it a 3.5 out of 5. It has lots of buttons, it's comfortable and using my profile I have mapped mostly all the buttons that are found on the Warthog. I still need to dial in the toggle switches on the stick base but for the most part I tried to map the buttons to as close as the actual hog locations. This profile involves switching between the profiles for the stick with the silver dial on the top right of the stick. This profile also does not require any in-game mapping. I figured if the game gets re-installed I don't have to change anything there. The software and drivers can be a little finicky but if you follow these instructions you should have no problems. Saitek X52 Pro Driver Removal.txt Defiantly the Thrustmaster Cougar pack and the TrackIR 5 with the Track Clip Pro IS A MUST!!!!! NO COMPROMISES HERE!!!!! It is a game changer for not this sim but other games as well. It eliminates the need for multiple/larger monitors. -
I know! If anyone would like to donate to the 0utLAW HOTAS fund I would appreciate it! :)

X52 Pro HOTAS woes (Coolie Switch wierdness)
0utLAW replied to The LT's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Do you have your stick connected to an extension or hub? If so, they don't work well connected like that. Just connect it directly to the computer. If it is connected directly to the computer, try making sure that all your cables are connected all the way. Or, you may want to try another USB port on your system. I had issues like that when my stick was connected to a hub and extension. Hope that helps. -
agrasyuk, thanks for the reply. I'm going to search around for some how to's or tutorials on how to implement this solution. Are you aware of any or is it pretty self explanatory?

Added toggle switches. Still need to add a few more.

Also, are there better/cheaper alternatives to the screen types? I'm looking on Digikey.com and I'm find all types of screens. Any help pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

I'm almost done with putting all the toggle switches and push buttons in my pit. My question is, what kind of boards are you using to interface dials and screens into the game? I'm currently using 2 GGG GP-Wiz40 Max boards and Helios as an interface. I will potentially need 2 more GP-Wiz40 boards to control the fuel panel, AHCP, CMCP, electrical panel and some other switches up toward the front of the pit. I know the GP-Wiz40 Max has several rotary ports but I'm not sure how to use them. If someone has successfully used them in conjunction with Helios I would like to know how you have them configured. Also, I'm not sure there will be enough rotary ports between the 4 boards I plan on having to control all the dials I'm going to add. I'll eventually want to add dials and screens for the radios and ILS, TACAN and such. Is there a solution as cheap and easy as a GGG board. I know Phidgets boards can be used but they are a little pricey. Any other suggestions? Here is a sample of the types of screens I know some of you are using and that I would like to add eventually; Also, I have noticed that it is possible to use the Roto-x positions on the GP-Wiz 40 Max as toggle switch ports. I have connected a toggle switch to these ports in the past but have not been able to set them up correctly. Has anyone set these ports up as toggle switches successfully? Here is a line from GGG web site stating the use of these ports as normal toggle switch ports; Roto-X Specific Features Dual, Independent Rotary control support. The Roto-X™ compatible inputs operate as standard button / joystick inputs until activated by the user. This allows for toggle switches and other "normally active" controls to be used on any of the Roto-X™ capable inputs without issue. Here is the rest of the section stating the functions of the rotary switches; User tunable pulse output. Match the Roto-X pulse timings to the application for best performance. This is a purely optional feature, as the default hardware timings have been meticulously tested with the most common applications to insure compatibility "out of the box". Unique Dual-mode Selectabiliy. Standard CW / CCW and exclusive "8-Way" mode. Finally, games with "Front Line-type" controls can be played with a standard rotary joystick! Compatible with any rotary switch with pin quantities in multiples of 3 + Ground. (3, 6, 9, 12, etc.) Fully Buffered. Each rotary has it's own dedicated 20 action circular buffer. Easy to use Software. May be used interactively (as shown below) or silently via the command line. (Click Screenshot to Download) Any help would be greatly appreciated and Happy New Year!!

I checked the FM and confirmed but I just wanted to make sure that they don't plan on using it in later updates. One of those secret things i guess.
