  1. Before I waste time/wire/solder... on this panel, Is it used/going to be used in the game?
  2. Nice job!
  3. So jealous! ;)
  4. Thanks for the comments guys. I'm really proud of the work that has been done so far. In the final stretch. I just have to pick up a 7/16" punch to cut the film and drill the holes in the acrylic for the switches. Also, I have to make some holes in the side of the boxes to run the USB and LED wiring. I have lined the outside of the panels with a bit of gaffers tape. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaffer_tape) This helps seal the film to the acrylic and block out the light. Not sure I want to mount these with the hinges. Thinking of alternatives. For now, here are some pics of the panels and the mounted GP-Wiz40 Max boards. I used a couple of the those plastic zip-tie mounts and some motherboard mounts and hot glued them to the box. Please excuse the light projected on the wall behind. That's because I haven't run the wires out the side of the box. They are just hanging over the box.
  5. Thanks HMA! Question for you; How did you cut your holes in the acrylic?
  6. My goal with this is to make a pit I can stow away when not in use. Easy to setup and cheap, cheap, cheap, but still decent quality. Got to keep my gf and wallet happy! :)
  7. Still, this picture does not capture how deep of a green this really is. It looks like the same color as the TM Cougar MFCD green on the dimmest setting.
  8. I just have to say WOW! Just looking at the progression from the start of this thread. HA HA. What an addiction!
  9. ^ I was thinking of making a short video. ;)
  10. ^Thanks Sci. I can change the color to any color I want. That's why I got RGB LEDs. :) Here are the colors I have to choose from on my remote;
  11. Here is a shot of the panels laying on the light boxes. I'm going to pick up a 7/16" punch to cut a hole in the film and then I'm going to drill the holes in the acrylic to mount the switches. I need to paint the sides and trim the bottom. I'm also planing on mounting the panels with hinges so I can get access to the inside and make adjustments if needed. The pictures don't do this justice. THIS THING IS TURNING OUT AWESOME!
  12. Sorry about that Deadman. I just went with some generic colors. I'm not going for exact replica here but just wanted to get an idea of the colors if anyone had them on hand. No biggy. :)
  13. I just got my panels printed!!!! :) :) I'm very happy. they were printed on a solvent inkjet printer with multiple passes and printed on 8 mil backlit film and then laminated with 2 mil gloss. I know some of you are going to say something about it being gloss but I like it. Makes it looks shiny and new. :) :) The guys made the keys for the CDU a bit darker to compinsate for when they are backlit. Not a problem for me.
  14. ^That's exactly what I'm running. I was just curious to see if anyone was playing around with that keyboard. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=94143
  15. Is your stick connected directly to a USB port on your system or are you connected through a hub or extension? I used to get odd things happening every once in a while like the stick going into a shift state for no reason. Saitek hardware is buggy in general IMO. I had a situation like the one you described when connected through a hub and also an extension. Seems to bee better when connected directly to the systems USB port.
  16. Have you guys seen this crazy thing? Wondering if anyone is using this and if you can export mmm let's say the CDU to the screen. http://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-S-T-R-I-K-E-7-Gaming-Keyboard/dp/B0090ECASW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354346634&sr=8-1&keywords=strike+7 Ok none of the youtube videos are good but here's one;
  17. This is also known as the Razer Nostromo; http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-nostromo
  18. ^Nice! Well a couple of more runs and I'm really getting the hang of the rockets for taking out the way point 2 Patrol. It's does come down to speed and lining up the targets so that they are in a row. Oh and just downloaded and installed Tacview....... OMG! What a better sense of the battle. Getting to actually see the effective range of AA(red bubbles). WOW SO MUCH FUN! Ok now to just raise some funds for a TM HOTAS! ;)
  19. WELL I FINALLY DID IT! I finish my first instant action mission(sort of). I didn't RTB and land. But WHATEVER! I was able to take out all enemies(sort of). I had my wingman help out cleaning up the scraps. I'm going to give it some more tries until I can take out every enemy and land.
  20. I'm flying the A-10C- Instant action- Georgia mission and I'm trying to take out way point 3 Patrol with some M-151s and guns. Every time I run in with the rockets they don't seem to hit anything. They seem to be hitting very low left. I was able to clear the area in one pass one time out of 50 tries. I'm flying it over and over again waiting to just get lucky. How can I be more accurate with these rockets? Is it possible?
  21. So thanks to this thread and TrackIR I now have a new X52 Pro profile; http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82773 I'm still working on assigning the toggle switches on the stick base. The landing gear and flaps functions will change. I'm thinking that I want to assign more complex tasks to those toggles. Landing gear and flaps are pretty easy commands. I'm trying not to change any of the In-Game assignments as much as possible and doing all the configing in the SST software. I'm trying to make the profile as close to the actual warthog setup but of course there are some workarounds and modifications. For the most part it's as close as an X52 Pro can get. Also, I was wondering if anyone has a copy of the driver version that allows you to change the color of the POV1 LED? I had one at one time but I think I deleted it. I'm currently running DRIVER version 6.2.2.4 and SST SOFTWARE version 7.0.2.7. This driver version doesn't even show POV1 in the LEDs tab. :( ENJOY! Here is a pic of the profile, the profile itself and the .PSD file I used to make the jpeg. A-10C X52 Pro Profile.zip
  22. Do you guys have the version of the drivers that allows you to change the color of the POV 1 LED? I'm currently running Driver version 6.2.2.4 and Software version 7.0.2.7.
  23. This is not Jack's profile but it's one I made. Check you the 4th post down. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=86212 I tried to match the Warthog HOTAS as closely as possible. You do need to move between the profiles but it works well for me. Blue= DMS and general flight commands Purple= CMS and defensive commands Red= TMS and offensive flight commands Also I'm using Helios and I have an area that I click on that brings up the image of my layout. :)
