Like I said, LODs work in conjunction with "Object" line... but give it a shot, run a test and set LOD to 0.5 and see the difference in "entry" ranges... Anyway it doesnt matter... but setting LODs too high is def something that should NOT be allowed beyond the default levels...

Not entirely so, that value increases the distance at which the first LOD (the dot) appears... the higher the value the further away that dot appears... providing of course u have the "Objects" parameter also set a high value... I agree with AS regarding the Standard graphics.cfg settings... Perhaps the server can check if the user has default LOW/MED/HIGH visibility settings, and if so, then its ok... So that only 3 possible settings can then apply... About modellod.txt, that ofcourse we gonna put as one of the "integrity check files" :) However i do hope ED fixes some of their LOD bugs, like the Su-27/33 disappearing at close ranges... or the Mig being almost "invisible" compared to all other AC... etc etc

Agreed to what 3sqn guys said above... most likely 51st Dedi will also run DEFAULT settings, and we will set stringent file checks to ensure this... One question though to ED, will the integrity check be able to see specific lines in files? Such as for example LOD detail in graphics.cfg... because as it stands now, that value can give very unrealistic view ranges, and obviously u cant put an integrity check on graphics.cfg as everyone has different settings/rigs... Or best would be to simply limit the LOD to a maximum of 1.5 no matter what you write in graphics.cfg... that way everyone can only have the maximum potential LOD of default "High" settings...

Im assuming this discussion is about LRM 2 features... As for target snap/step I dont use it just like many who posted above, and never will... The whole concept of having it in LOMAC is questionable, IMO... and as Kuky pointed out its not really ment to be implemented in game... it is also not permitted on 51st dedicated for above reasons... Regarding other auto functions such as Russian radar fix, then its also a big NO. Most of the guys who fly the flanker/mig would confirm that it was far more detrimental and annoying as hell than of any help as it plays with your radar when you dont want it to... Plus there is a big question mark if there is any realism to those implementations... Default LOMAC works best here, IMO... As for eagle radar fix however its a better story as it does indeed incorporate some things that were actually present in earlier lomac versions but were for some reason taken away, such as narrow scan zone slew, etc... also the elevation following seems to work as it should so its fine to use, but really just an extra "lazy f15 pilot" tool, IMO. Its boring enough guiding TWS shots already, and now u pretty much dont need to worry about anything when doing it... hehe... but I assume its realistic as it makes the most sense out of all the above " radar helps" -
Probably because the AI in multiplayer cant tell exactly when a client is set to refueling mode... or in other words the AI doesnt know u are even there, so he just flies straight... until u are in position... that data just isnt being set over MP code i guess... But it still works so... i dont find that such a problem... F15 works too, but its alittle more buggy because of the stupid autopilot acting up in MP

Exactly, only that you dont have to be perfectly connected... as long as you get within a couple of meters, the basket will appear... So, IMO the Su-33 MP mid-air refueling is fully functional, just have to know how to work it...

We shall see if any changes to the game browser will be implemented in FC2.0... I dont have my hopes too high, as it stands now i reckon its gonna be a carbon copy of DCS:BS, which i find quite bad, IMO... HL does a much better job... you can chat, see whos in game, keep a friends list, PM... etc etc... While DCS multilayer interface can barely allow you to read the game name after a number of "refresh" clicks and "IP only" lists... :(

Multiplayer refueling works fine as it is now... with only some "minor" bugs... it is however dependent on latency when refueling in the F15, due to its autopilot being engaged during the process which could go crazy sometimes... but in Su-33 it works perfectly, you just have to know how to do it! The baskets WILL appear if you get in the right position for them to do so! And from there its just like SP...

Thatx for the clarification EherealN! I scanned through the thread and must have missed that post... OK, so to my understanding the server will no longer force clients to run its export file like it does now in FC1.12... but instead it will run "integrity check" to make sure the file matches to its own? If not, then client is simply unable to join... yes? And of course mods like LEAVU are still dependent on that file... If so, it means almost any mod (apart from cosmetic mods of course) will have to be "pre-installed" on both the server and client to work? Id say for most part of general online flying that would mean servers will have to run only DEFAULT versions of the game in order to avoid people from not being able to join, or to take off "integrity checks" of some files, which could potentially open cheating possibilities... This of course would apply to those who are unaware of certain mods, etc etc... which is still, IMO a majority of online pilots... In one way it is a good thing because we will have a more fair and secure environment... but from a perspective of organizing custom events, etc... this could be a logistical nightmare... as if it wasn't hard enough already (remember LOCERF, Maple Flag... etc etc)

So first it was "Impossible" to turn LEAVU datalink off, then now suddenly it became possible and oh so easy with the FC 2.0 file checker control... I am confused... Some say it doesnt need export.lua because they tested it (and even wrote comments on it in the file) some say it does need it after all... :S It does look like we might be having a LUA nightmare come 2.0, with some server running this, some that... and no one will be able to tell what works and why they cant join a server... :S

So in other words you flew against those who had no idea u were using this "tool" to gain an unfair advantage? I hope that was not the case... Im sorry but I can only wonder what other things you "had in you lockon for a long time"... hehe With your above statement I for one would have serious doubts if i am flying and knowing you were around... @Groove: I somehow doubt that... especially since we all now know it can work with any aircarft, even say with a Mig-29A

На сколько я понял дело как раз на оборот... Lockon все равно передает "ownship data" (это дата не глобальная а только то что происходит в кабине клиента... инструменты, радар, итд.) даже если сервер заставит клиенту свой export.lua... Chizh вроде уже этого дотронулся выше. А LEAVU даталинк потом берет ету дату и передает "друзям" по вот такому способу на самостоятельном уровне аналогично как на пример работает Team Speak: Если я не прав то кто то может ето дело обяснить конкретно? ЕД?

Сорри, я не заметил! буду теперь только с лаптопа :doh: Нет, это не так! про LRM вы правы... LEAVU нет, тут есть конкретная разница. На английском форуме уже все обяснили... Если бы вы были правы то это дело вообще бы не всплыло! ;) Речь идет о ГС 2.0 конечно...

I agree with Case, makes no sense... And if LEAVU is the subject, the main concern, IMO is not realism vs balance, but rather transparency and fair play...

Druid, ya dumau ti tak i ne ponial kak etot mod rabotaet... export.lua na servere ne vliaet... toest etot mod NE VOZMOZHNO controlirivat! Mi v 51st znaem pro vse methodi controlia servera o kotorih ti govorish, no etot mod prosto obhodit eto... On beret tolko OWNSHIP data, toest po lokalnim canalom, v chem i problema... Esli English mozhes perevisti, to pochitai tam i vse poimesh... Ve etom to fishka... ugu! ;)

Belamor vishe uzhe etu ideu podal... nado nekotorie dela prosto polnosty "zakrit"... Eto novaya funktsiya FC 2.0? Kak eto povleyaet na lokalniu export? Vse budet OFF? Eto tozhe variant na vsiakiy pozharnriy, esli tolko ne proizvodit silnih limitatsiy na osnovnuy chast virpilov... Na primer, ochen mnogo letaut s treck IR, no dazhe ochen malo letaut s cockpit utilities i dopolnitilnimi modami... tak chto eto hot budet 'safe option' Izvinyaus chto ne russkimi bukvami! Tolko na laptope yest blin nakleiki!

This would be the ONLY solution to a can of worms that has already been opened... god knows for how long, btw... So question to any ED guys who read this... can that be done? Otherwise whats the point of promoting "new anti-cheat methods" in FC 2.0 If such things are still possible... this is totally ludicrous, IMO Pilots should always have the right to a fair fight when they enter a given server, or they should at least be aware what can and cannot be used against them...

OK, thank you for such a kind gesture.... we will take nothing, and then take your word that u will only use the "downgraded" version of the datalink... Mabe we can write it in the server rules as pilots join HL servers?... "Dont worry fellow pilots, GG and other LEAVU users will only run the downgraded versions of the mod".... hehe cmon guys are you serious? This sort of thing can only serve right if it was something that can be ENFORCED by the server and was agreed upon before an event, or by ROEs giving only specific datalink advantages to simulate some sort of combat environment or whatever, just like ATC software works now for example... But since its not enforceable, whos stopping you from using your own "See All" version of the datalink? Whos stopping you from extracting other data and then linking it up with your wingmen? Hmm... I wonder what other scripts one can have running in the name of "realism"...

А вы не можете пожалуйста уточнить какие именно файлы делают этот експорт локально? Я смотрю что Yoda уже тестирует на ГС 2.0 и все там вроде работает... А на 1.12 то вообще... даже если на сервере глобальный експорт отключить, етот даталинк все равно не возможно контролировать... те кто имеют мод, могут вытворять что хотят!

@GG, I think you forgot to mention the datalink capability without any need for global exports, or in other words, it is non-enforceable by the server... Cockpit mods aside, this gives an F15 element a HUGE advantage in the current FC environment... I shall explain this for you to our friends here, because that was their primary concern... ========================================================== Voobchem narod izvinyaus chto ne russkimi bukvami, ne na svoem kompe... ya dvumya slovami obyasnu... Etot mod daet gruppe F15ih vozmozhnost podkluchitsa na samostoyatilniu server, kak na primer Team Speak... i drug drugu peredavat po datalinku vse kontakti kotorie zasekaut na svoem radare luboi iz teh kto v sostave etoi gruppi... Exporti na servake eto bez raznitsi... toest, etot mod ne vozmozhno controlirivat serveru, potomu kak on tolko beret datu na lokalnom urovne... a potom prosto peredaet eto drugim kto podkluchini k datalinku... nadeus eto dostatochno ponyatno! :)
