STEAM version at all? Did you install manually or via module manager? Do me a quick favour and just try renaming your saved games / DCS folder to saved games / DCS1 then restart. With that... also go into logs (in saved games / dcs / logs) and seek out your "crash" and log files... there can be some interesting tidbits in there.

I have to capture it before I "close program" (I think it says something like- show problem details or something like that.) I copy and paste it before I close it down. I could probably grab it in admin options in the event log in windows- not at my comp right now so can't check right this second.

I had 1 client parked and had just brought in a second (on a different comp) to watch the F10 view from an actual side (so I could see the aircraft AI from the random air traffic script)... looks like it crashed right after that. This fit with yesterday's crash since it crashed right after localmax rejoined the server (and my aircraft was sitting there just letting the mission run.) Seems too much of a coincidence. Other attachment is log from separate comp dcs.zip

Eh man no problem and no rush on my behalf... if looks great and I'd hate to see you put all that work into it before and not get it out there!

Well without testing it I do see this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2082838&postcount=234

Hmmmm. I'll give it a try and see.

Yeah this looks incredible. Looking forward to release!

Man that autoexec file has so much potential... Wish there was more info on it- Thanks for posting that update Paul... I'd been looking at the other one this whole time scratching my Head a bit. Just to confirm if you guys go into the mission editor now and choose an a-10C, and go into the armament / inventory page to choose a skin the list that comes up is the one if your liveries folder linked in the description.lua? And then everyone in the squadron has that same folder / autoexec file so they can all see each other's stuff? Actually another question or 2... If I wanted to adjust the base template (assuming the def-1 etc files), would that end up modifying the various squadron images as well? For example the ladder door... if I put an image in the def-1a file would it appear in all other squadrons or do I need to put it on each squadron def-1a?

Public inquiry. What is your PC video card?

Now I just have to figure out why it keeps crashing. :( Sigh.

Absolutely... nice work Stang. A true ambassador for the sim and everything that it could be!

time to start posting client / server logs. Talk to merlin about it and maybe we can get to the bottom of this.

One of the things I read early on was that the free edition does a pretty good job at covering all the bases that most people need. As a server in some cases I like to go back in it to see if triggers didn't fire because of a bug or because we missed someone- even though I build the missions a lot of them are highly randomized so I don't know where everything is. There are a few cases where people get shot down by something and cry foul and I like to be able to go back and review footage. We had a guy in the server the other day who seemed to have radar in his su25... he was able to fly straight to other people in the server and shoot them down as if magically. Pretty easy to see him adjusting his flight path to various units WAY in advance after watching the game play footage on tacview (can fast forward AND rewind- unlike tracks) and then VERY easily snatch his UCID from a log and ban him from the server forever. So, so sick of people taking advantage of the fact I leave exports on. Anyway I feel a bit guilty saying the free version is fine for almost everything- but it is. Then again I've never used the pro version so I'm not sure what additional benefits there may be.

Alright... mission is "complete" and going into it's maiden flight tonight. Work out some kinks and see how it flows. Thanks to SNAFU, RagnarDa and Geloxo (I always spell his name wrong) for their various scripts!

Okay... check a couple things for me will ya? Is the force feedback setting checked in the options? Are you running full screen or windowed mode? Not sure it's related but just checking the boxes. Also- what sound driver do you have on the machine you're using now? For that matter- what are the specs on the distal rig?

My HAF series cases (well, the 932 and HAFX) came with filters which I never fully appreciated until I had them. Op- if you're still listening- don't be afraid to spend a little more on a GOOD case with filters and fans you need. Granted there will be some openings that you could add to but for what you're doing the stock case fans would be fine and easy. You don't need a full tower but mid will be as small as I would go personally. In some cases people want to choose their own fans for their purpose... But that polishing the cannonball a bit. Good airflow unfortunately means the thing turns into a vacuum no matter which fans you're using so some filters would be a nice bonus.

All that dust is going to affect your score ;) (Listens for the vacuum to start...)

Spoken like a true FPS gamer- which is fine... you can be all you want to be, I don't care. On the other side of the coin, there are people - me included- who enjoy the team aspect of what the sim (or other game) provide. Sure, we all want to be good at it- but good at what? Dropping a guided bomb on a target from 30000 feet? Taking out an infantryman with a maverick? No- I'm talking bigger picture stuff... Being better at working together while still safely in our own little bubble. The part of it that a lot of people want to BE BETTER at is coordination and communication with the team to accomplish the objective by employing your developed skillset. Look at the points you mentioned you want to be better at: Me, my, I. Others have a bigger vision on what they're getting out of the sim- whether it's the interaction with people from all over the world or just the opportunity to be a part of a team while sitting half naked in front of your computer with a beer in your hand. Like you, I want to be better too- but I want to be better so that I feel I contribute more to the overall effort... not so that I can splash everyone with my awesomesauce. You FPS types stomp around insisting on yourselves all over the place talking about how score orientated you are like your next meal depends on it... while others don't even know what a score is and could care less. It's that self-importance and individualism inherent with the FPS culture that people dislike. I personally can't stand it, and I don't welcome that style of play in the server... but that's not to say that I can't respect the fact that a person can have those priorities and be really good at what they're doing. I don't try to sway them to my side and see it my way... at the same time I don't like having someone else's "BOOYAH" shoved in my face all the time. The genre overall can cater to both perspectives- but independent servers (there are no other kinds in DCS, unfortunately) don't achieve that very well. -
