  1. Okay disregard this one- please delete. I found a few issues (distance for fire at point, trigger I'd forgotten about keeping many units inactive... etc) that I've since fixed and seem to have it running along okay.
  2. I did get my head around this one... I was able to "task push" most of the units to fire- also I think the points were a bit too far away. I also had one trigger that blended in with a bunch of others that left many of them inactive. So I can eat this one... I think it's mostly my fault.
  3. Wrecking Crew has done it before- but he had to buy the packet tracker to do it. I'll see if he can chime in here with his methods.
  4. Might have been an SLMOD protected server with the time / point based "auto-ban" function enabled. If you team killed or team hit sufficient people (the amount necessary is tailored to the servers needs) then you get kicked / banned for a certain amount of time. It all depends on how it's set up. After a determined amount of time passes (depending on the setup), you may be allowed back in. If you went in and broke the rules again another ban would have been issued automatically. I'm certainly not accusing you of anything- but it is one possibility. I don't know your style of play and accidents do happen. Are you having this problem with all servers or just one in particular?
  5. Is it just the one mission or a whole bunch of them? I'm curious about whether or not this is a couple problems compounding your problem solving efforts. I know the symptoms you've described resemble those I encounter when I've posted a mission with broken script or some other mission related problem. Also have you been able to track packet loss between you and the master server?
  6. The F-18E is coming along and I wanted to show it off a little. Sweetest was a bit hesitant since it is in a rather rough form right now with most of the skin simply being roughed in. Kind of like an artist's version of the bright orange "TEXTURE NOT AVAILABLE" Being a first, she's learning a lot about the medium and how to better prepare the panel. This panel- unlike the wall which we had ensured was silky smooth when we taped / mudded / primed it- turned out to be quite rough by comparison and this has somewhat limited her ability to get the control over the paint that she expected. Lesson learned, of course, so now she has the proper materials to bring future panels to the appropriate level of smoothness. I'm also happy to report that she has been retained to commission a painting of an Air Force F-4. The details are still highly preliminary but suffice to say she's EXTREMELY excited with this new genre.
  7. Rongor- We might have covered this but I can't remember- were these missions made in 127 or an earlier version?
  8. Yes- same as we're getting an F18 at some point.
  9. Did you upgrade to 126 or fresh install?
  10. I know at least one person in the past had his refueling receptacle slaved to some common key combination unbeknownst to him (can't remember the exact scenario) and turned out he was trying to do this with his refueling door open- resulted in the same problem. Possible?
  11. They do work but only in delaying launch- not the way they'd actually work in real life. Often described as one of the most under-developed aspects of the sim. I'm not sure what Howie is talking about there being some difference in their function between now and before... maybe he knows something we don't- like Expert did.

    Eh Grimes- thanks... that's what I was hoping for. And Mav / Exorcet: I do that already and as Grimes describes it is fine until they turn sharply... I guess a work around to that may be to set waypoints that allow them to cut corners at lesser angles. Better yet would be to get a fix and it looks like that can be a possibility. Anyway again thanks to you guys for weighing in. Hopefully a few of these pointers will help others in their efforts!
  14. I almost bought that just because- that was a ridiculous deal and not one that I would expect to see too often. But I guess the point is (not to argue with your point at all Cali) that these deals DO exist on occasion and OP needs to figure out how much the play time is worth. You could wait a bit and probably hit it- or save up (which it sounds like he was planning on doing anyway) and stagger the purchases. I might add I think this is the FIRST time in my history in any thread on these forums that everyone agreed on something!

    Another one... this one shows the full spectrum of problems.I moved the convoys offroad for the first waypoint- so that if one behind it spawns (and the front group stays unspawned) it doesn't cause that collision avoidance behavior. Thought that might have resolved it... until one had to take a turn... then cross a bridge. By the time the route was finished 1 out of 7 or so vehicles remained. What a mess. brutal.trk

    Generating one now. Two separate problems... units collision avoid other units that aren't spawned in (this existed before) and the other is the convoys turning themselves inside out. This mission is set to spawn in a variety of different possible convoys- and it seems one of them is always slugging it out while the others are fine. I've had this issue in many missions- basically any mission I have that uses a convoy- particularly on the road. Problem in this particular track starts about 4 minutes in.   17. I would rather play with slightly less detail on the Warthog than try to fuss around with a lesser control setup. Stuff some money in your cheeks for a bit longer and do both! Look online and find some lightly used 670s for half the normal price- those are probably still one of the best priced cards out there.
  18. Think you need to assign specific tasks for the push- not just ordinary advanced waypoint things. I'll see if I can verify here in the next 10- EDIT: Since I don't use it that often (haven't for a long time) I was remembering it differently... I went in and tried to get a task to push and it didn't either... maybe it is busted? LATER EDIT: WHOOPS- Got to check this out. Think we're both doing it wrong.   19. Wonder if the laser got masked? Did you enter a turn to keep LOS for the pod or did you just fly straight? What altitude were you at?
  20. I can't even just start a convoy on the road at half its maximum speed without it turning itself inside out (last vehicle becomes second in line... inchworm to follow). Anyone got any tricks up their sleeve to prevent this from happening or to resolve it once it's happened? It has been CRUSHING every fricken mission I make and it's driving me insane.

  22. Eh guys... Anyone know a good place to find some structure templates of some sort or another? I'm trying to build a prison compound of sorts and of course many of the encyclopedia items don't match the actual items included. (hint hint ED) So I'm in there trying to lay this thing out and it's just killing me. Has anyone put anything together? Any good leads?

  24. I'm going at it in a bit of a less random way to exercise the concept- trying to figure out what I need scripts to be able to do. Right now I have multiple locations chosen where an aircraft will be hot down- it'll fly through the zone and "explode unit" (50) which triggers ragnardas medevacs script. Because I've controlled the location I can send ground forces to a predetermined point. They can then be stopped for a bit- then head to their next waypoint which is the prison compound. I'm going to see if I can task push the groups back to their starting positions or just deactivate. I'm wondering if it would be easier to use the ejection script I posted and then build in the medevac script functionality (popping smoke, radio item add etc) or if I can of iffy it in a way that will allow the pilot to be disabled / captured once in zone. If the blue pilot is brought to the red mash unit for example. I'm worried that it may be more complicated to incorporate the red side function- especially with AI. But... It does suggest a tantalizing opportunity for your script Ragnarda. If red medevac can be scripted to pick up blue and versa vice that would make for a pretty intense mission concept. Hmmmmm.
  25. Is this about how many modules you've purchased or how many you use ie: are registered to you. If its retroactive every server running a separate machine had to have 2 copies of a10c or BS2 is why I'm wondering if that's taken into account.
