We have that ability- except that the prepare function in the editor frequently currents the mission file and results in wonky behaviour. If they fix it, you will see prepared / Cocked pits.

Gotta take a dude sporting a rhino baby seriously yo.

Don't think the pilot even exists as an independent entity given that we can't control him in rescue missions in terms of scripting.
-
Short of any other ideas- it may take some testing but what about giving them 1% fuel, testing the range and then setting it up that way? Fly them over a point where around that range they'll crash into something valuable. Or not... Even the true kamikaze missed... It was through sheer volume they were able to get occasional hits. I'm not sure if you can do AI off for aircraft... I don't think so.

It's been around waaaaaaaaaaaay longer than two months- but yes it absolutely positively needs to get some attention.

I know right? Class Z priority issue but I thought it was kind of funny.

Hmm. Well nobody has ever heard of it and someone suggested a corrupt mission file or maybe a corrupt install. Take your pick- If you start a new mission does it still happen?
-
In your position I would uninstall ALL of DCSW, including the saved games / DCS folder and start from scratch. You can't just slide your existing controls over into 128 and need to reassign everything anyway. Just grab the torrent file and do it that way. Easy. As mentioned, the module manager takes care of the rest- all your keys are registered to your username...

Okay so I went and tried to take charge of my own question and while muddling with the ME through TV9 I tried late activating a unit after the respawn script dialogue and then blew up the unit. Nothing happened. Well, no respawn anyway. ( if not Group.getByName('1') then mist.respawnGroup('1', true) end Strangely I'm not getting any errors in my log either- usually I have something pop up. I can only see the map- so the unit may actually have respawned but I can't see it- but I don't think so. Anyway- if anyone has some insights I'd appreciate it.

How to set aircraft as civillian/noncombatant?
ENO replied to Serp Supreme's topic in Mission Editor
If you don't mind I'm forwarding that to my grade 4 math teacher... going to rub it in his face after all that additional "something something disorder" testing they made me endure! :smartass: -
Now this is a TRUE sim enthusiast- folks... the guy just got chopped in half and STILL uses it as a way of guilting the devs into speeding up the update and release process on our behalf. THAT is a commitment to the community!

How to set aircraft as civillian/noncombatant?
ENO replied to Serp Supreme's topic in Mission Editor
Make yourself invisible since it will only be the AI that is affected? (I know, we're back to invisibility again- but it might work.) I am testing a mission now where I have some "drones" overflying green alarm state, invisible enemies and they work fine- that's why I suggest it again. -
It's not that it changed arbitrarily- in 127 it he LAN issue got fixed. They recommended 1024 for most applications unless there was heavy AI in which case 2048 was necessary. Considering it can be changed with a mouse click isn't so bad but an auto throttle would be nice eh?

Force a switch waypoint using triggered actions and set AI task or AI task push (can't remember but sounds like either would work.

Yeah I edited my ip to that effect. Sorry! :) We're in here at the same time- less time to ninja edit. And yes. In advanced waypoint options / actions- whichever it is. -

Go to perform command I think it is and select invisible. Also go to set option, reaction to threat and select no reaction. Looking over your post again if you want a client side aircraft only to be able to do this then invisible may not be required. -
^ I've been noticing this too actually- at least I keep trying to make minute corrections and find it quite difficult. I end up settling In Without PAC and then try to capture pac1 once I'm already on target. Then ride the train to the full trigger. The trick is in making that dive as short as I can so I'm not THAT easy to shoot down though with the new Davey Crockett Ground vehicles even an ability to time warp into a different dimension would result in a face full of ground fire and having my plane cut in half longitudinally. Btw- awesome info in that image... I'm going to have to hunt that down. Love reading up on that stuff (while retaining roughly 3% of it)

When I bought my first custom computer- a 166mmx with all the bells and whistles I can't even remember, what I DO remember VERY clearly was saying "a modem? What would I need that for? I'm not an internet guy. " Of course I was to quickly learn how wrong I was and had to chose between a blazing 56k or the 33.6 (?) (can't remember). Of course still somewhat dubious I went with the lower. Then I met rainbow six- And that was 5 years of my life spent in a basement. Anyway if mp picks up with 1.3.0 maybe we can justify the 12 but right now I think 6 up would be plenty given the current mp climate.
-
And then justifying it all by blaming a bug from 127. "Trucks pile up on bridges? Probably need a new SSD!"

Well- if people are doing what they're supposed to and connecting at 2048... you're a better math wiz than I am but you'd be able to host WAY more than DCS can reliably support at this point in time with 12 up. I run 15 up and have no complaints about performance regarding that- but then again remember the server is pretty empty now (just like everyone's save for maybe half a dozen out of 30+) so the demand hasn't been there. We needed bigger upload streams when we all had to run at LAN settings- but I am happy to report that is more than fixed. People connecting on LAN actually create issues. Only reason I went with 15 is at the time, sometimes guys would draw 1.5mbps... restricting me to a MAX of 10... now they've cut that down by a quarter or more- in A2A / PVP servers you could easily get by on 1024... where 2048 comes in is when you have lots of AI and ground vehicles involved. I stuck with 15 up because I didn't feel 10 up was going to be quite enough... 15 is the most I can get through my ISP- unfortunately it's saddled with a USELESS 250 down... Anyway, it is what it is. Even my heaviest missions upload is no more than 150kbps or so (1024) while 2048 is about twice that... maybe a bit more. If all you want is to run 10 people then 6 up is fine.

Does Disabling page file help with performance?

Eh guys- quick question... I'm setting up a target range so guys can practice on SAMs / AAA etc and units are activated via the F10 radio menu (I hope). I have it set up (I think) so that when guys go into the radio menu and select a certain radio item, values are established for certain flags and the aircraft they've chosen appears. I'm curious... if you "respawn" a unit that has been destroyed- will it respawn in a fashion that would be available again as late activated by radio menu? Ie: Does it respawn as the late activated unit or respawn as the live version of the unit that just got destroyed? Maybe a clone group would be better- with the task delay being a group dead of some sort? mist.scheduleFunction(mist.cloneGroup, {'groupName', true}) I suppose I can just use the group dead condition for the respawn script to happen... and if I use "switched condition" I could probably have that just keep reloading as desired?
-
Quickest way is to just have the AI flight fly over the target and then explode unit or trigger an explosion in a zone you've created around each aircraft or every couple of aircraft to simulate an attack / bombing run. I assume you mean quickest and most efficient way to perform the attack? Or do you mean the setup in the mission editor?

I don't know anything about anything- but I can really appreciate the way he formulates his responses... I like his analogies and insights as well.

Can I set a trigger to change the weather?
ENO replied to uboats's topic in User Created Missions General
http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=92817 Short version is- not quite... but in my recent experience with Dynamic weather I can say that it hasn't been impacting performance like it used to. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=82610
