Thanks for the update! After MiG-21, this is my favorite module.

Made my decisions, thanks!

On the press conference, the pilot Stanko Hrzenjak said that there was some problem with landing gear, than engine exploded when plane was flying 400 km/h and 500 meters high. Smoke filled the cockpit and Dangerous regime indicator came on. After few moments, there was a hydraulics failure, pilot waited that plane was clear of the houses below and, at the hight of 200 meters, he ejected. He later said that he was some 15 seconds from successful landing. The plane was near expiration of the flying resources, but fully functional during the take-off. The local villagers speaks of the pilot with great respect because he waited in burning plane until clear of their houses below.

It has been overhauled and modernized in 2003. in Romania and hasn't been overhauld again in Ukraine this year as other MiGs.
-
The news are that the airplane caught fire in the air and pilot managed to steer it to the least populated area of the village in which accident occurred. Parts of the airplane fell in people's backyards but luckily no one on the ground was injured and the pilot has only minor injuries.

As a title says, Croatian MiG-21 marked 121 crashed about hour ago 1 kilometer from runway at Pleso airfield near Zagreb. Pilot has ejected but there is no news about his condition. At the moment, there is no more news. :(

@BST: When can we expect the Mi-8 manual to be available?
Mrgud replied to Flagrum's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I get the point of what you are trying to say BitMaster but we are not ungrateful and I think that we all understand that sometimes life can be unpredictable. But when you see that somebody is back and you are told that certain task is high on his priority list, then months go by and nothing happens and meanwhile there is lots of activity around new module (the Sabre), it is not nice. All I wanted was news regarding the manual. If EvilBivol says: "bla, bla, the manual can't be finishen until I don't know what, but than it will be" I will be satisfied because I know that he did not forget about it. That's all. -
Congratulations and good luck jb1974!

@BST: When can we expect the Mi-8 manual to be available?
Mrgud replied to Flagrum's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
It has been more than four months from info that english manual is completed 75% and two months from info that it has priority on EvilBivol's to-do list. If it was another plane, I wouldn't care so much about the manual. But flying a helicopter like Mi-8 after A-10C and the Mustang is quite a different story. There are systems and procedures which I would like to learn about from the official written document. It would be nice that we get some new information about this manual at least. Because of all activity around the Sabre, I do think that this task is on hold again. -

Great news, thanks! -
We all know that nobody can sustain 6 or 7 Gs for longer period of time without the G suit. I wrote that as a joke ;)
-
I am not a Russian military pilot so I don't know for sure, but from documentaries; Russian pilots often fly aerobatics without their G suits connected because "the real man can withstand the Gs on their own!" And American pilots are usually taller than the Russian ones so they should withstand the Gs more difficultly. Just take a look at the Blue angels and compare pilots with the Russian knights. Don't take this literally but as some kind of joke. In Croatia we often say that in every joke is a little bit of truth. ;)

Nice video and great music selection!

@Timm - I think that Bart explained it very well but missed the point of your question. If I understood correctly, you want that the rear position of Brake button deploys Air brake, and the central position (neutral one) retracts Air brake. To do that, open TARGET and assign each function with HOLD option on instead of PULSE. But you may have problems when holding several buttons on HOLD option at the same time because it fills your buffer just like it would do if you would hold several buttons on keyboard at the same time. So method that Bart has explained is better because none of the buttons are on HOLD in neutral position. But you can always try and see if it works well.

Really good videos Bunyap! Very informative indeed. I enjoyed watching them although I didn't buy Sabre yet. I would only suggest to fly in opposite direction from the Sun when you are pointing at the upper part of cockpit. Are you planning to do video series for the Mi-8? It would be good to have such detailed material to learn from.

@NeilWillis - Everything is alright, I wasn't offended. ;)
-
I was referring to the variant that is flyable in DCS, but have to admit that I wasn't sure about later variants.

Sabre does not have afterburner.

Why another A-10C stick?!
-
Except price, I don't know about cons of TM Warthog. Maybe the lack of rudder pedals?! I think that we all made it clear how we feel about Warthog. It's expensive, but THE BEST that money can buy right now. :smilewink:
-
My advice is not to buy Saitek's stick. I had the X52 PRO and I still have the Pro Flight Headset and both products are not made to last and they are not so cheap as well. I now have TM Warthog and it is beyond the Sun compared to the quality of Saitek's products. If you can't afford TM Warthog HOTAS, you can buy just a stick for less than $300 and pair it with throttle from another HOTAS bought at classifields (I think that's word). It is just an option. Good luck with decision!

The picture looks better than on TV!
-
There are pilots, it's just funny angle and the MiG has big headrest. ;) Excelent picture btw!

The screenshots looks really awesome! Although my PC can barely run DCS right now so I hope that EDGE will be fps friendly. I will be looking at 640x480 resolution if I'll have to just to finally fly her when the time comes, but I am glad for all of you guys with killer PCs; you will be looking at some amazing screenies! ;) Great job LS!
