  1. How do I get rid of the red crosshair in the center of the screen? It only appears when flying the MIG-21. ---- EDITED + ANSWER ---- DISABLE PADLOCK -> This can be disabled in your game options Question 2: Why does this only affect the MIG-21? Answer 2: I don't know just disable padlock and quit asking questions!!!!
  2. Well crap. I guess I am still getting the same issue. The mission works when it is only me, the host, running the mission, but when I get clients joining, the AI stops reacting to enemy contacts.
  3. Thanks Thanks a lot Grimes I think that did the trick! I've been pulling my hair out over this for weeks. Going to give it some more testing, but the AI is finally fighting again. :pilotfly:
  4. Mission Here is a dropbox to the bare bones first version of the mission. The AI still have problems in this version. I tried adding GCI intercept and adding ground radar to the enemy side, changing the waypoint to different tasks such as "Fighter Sweep" and even a task area with fighter intercept as the task, but the AI only react to players in MP 50% the time. Once groups begin fighting, it seems like most of them start kicking into gear and there are no problems after that. But initially starting the mission, the AI will simply not react to anything, you can follow them and shoot them all day with no response from them. Is it something on my end or is the Mig-15 ai broken? https://www.dropbox.com/s/f2ox3bharm8cfy8/MigAlleyV1.0.miz?dl=0
  5. I made a simple mission with Mig-15s flying patrol. When they die they respawn with MIST, but I have an issue with the AI not reacting to players even after they are shot at. They simply fly their waypoints and ignore enemy aircraft. After the mission runs for a while, and a few AI aircraft die, they start reacting to contacts like normal and dogfight. Has anyone had this issue where AI simply ignore enemy contacts? How can I get them to react to enemy aircraft at the start of the mission? I have tried setting their en-route task to CAP, Search for enemy contacts in an area, and GCI intercept script with ground radar. None of these work until the AI are shot down and respawn. After they die and respawn, they behave normally.
  6. I originally had music turned off because it was obnoxiously loud with one of the early re-installs. I didn't realize each plane had its own piece written for it. I just turned music back on, very nice stuff!
  7. The beta only recognizes one of my controllers as "Joy0" Is anyone else getting this error? I can configure controlls in the vanilla game, it recognizes controllers by their name "CH Fighterstick" "Ch Rudder" ect.
  8. Hi, this worked surprisingly well for me and most of my mates (including Injerin). Great fix! Thanks! I did a few stress tests with 40, 80, and 160 planes dogfighting. 160 seemed to be a few too many for my little video card to handle, but 80 ran smoothly with gunfire. We did have one (slightly) unrelated problem though. (I might post this in another thread if it is too off topic) Gunfire no longer causes any FPS drop. I can watch 40 planes shooting tracers with no dip. However, Fire/smoke effects cause a massive FPS hit. (Basically I can look at 5 aircraft firing tracers with 60 FPS, but if I look down at five burning wrecks, my FPS drops to 1) Is there any way to edit an FPS friendly smoke effect? I may try editing the number of particles that spawn for smoke and see if that helps, because distant smoke effect seems to have little impact compared to closer burning wrecks, but I'm rather new at editing files like this, so I'm hoping someone smarter and more experienced might be able to chime in with some ideas :smartass:
  9. DCS Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight S!
  10. So, how many times a minute should I refresh the web page? Oh no! I forgot to hit refresh while I was typing this post!
  11. There is no folder/file called "repair dcs world" in my install or saved game folder The only 'repair' files I have are "request repair.wav"; 'repair workshop.txt' and 'repair workshop.png'
  12. I tried deleting it and running DCS, but it doesn't make a new file and I don't see any repair function in game or an exe. Updater just launches the game
  13. Can someone post their C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\graphics.lua I was experimenting with different settings and I wrote over my copy.
  14. Is there any way to easily swap the control setups from one aircraft to another? :joystick: I didn't mind mapping different controls for planes that were entirely different from each other, like A10, Huey, and P-51, ect. Even if a couple of controls were similar (yaw, pitch, roll), a good handfull weren't. FC3, on the other hand has a slew of different aircraft, some of them with almost (if not entirely) identical controls. Any suggestions? Are there some FC-3 aircraft just not worth bothering with, or are there ways to port the controls to all the similar aircraft. (mostly pointing my finger at all the pesky MIG and SU variants.
  15. When I click "buy now" I am sent to: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/shop.php?end_pos=1322&scr=shop&lang=en#26 which does not feature the FC3 upgrade for me
  16. Is FC3 no longer for sale? I can't find it in the e-store. I've been on the fence whether to get it. I have my lock-on disc somewhere around here, but I enjoy the aircraft that have fully clickable cockpits =\. It's always fun finding new inventive ways to make the MASTER CAUTION beep at me.
  17. As a general SOP, try to use up the fuel in your fuselage tank before switching to the other tanks. The plane handles better once that tank is empty. Also, drop a notch or two of flaps if you want to turn tightly.
