well, for one the war ended and, secondly far more potent combinations (4 20 mm cannons type wings) were also put into production with the later marks Spitfires

I take it the effect of fabric on the elevators (mkV) versus the metal ones (mk IX) will be included in this?
-
From what I was able to find, the flooded areas were actually bypassed and for a time they even (seemed to have) served as protection for the American Southern flank. What happened after the war? my answer would be to google it.

Bucic, the only thing I can think of that you can try, is looking for the Air Ministry pilots notes on the Mustang. The chances of you finding them....small. (no offense intended)
-
knowing how the pilots of the day did it, gives a nice little extra dimension to it, don't you think?
-
Just one thing. The author was a naval aviator. Some of the wording used is particular to the US Navy. (division being a flight in this case) Other then that I wish you happy reading.

+1! I suppose you could also look through Ebay and Amazon and your second hand book store and thrift shops. If you're lucky you're going to find some works where combat reports or evaluations from places like the Air Fighting Development Unit were put on paper.

June 7th 8th and 9th you'd(probably) see a lot more landings. Increased but largely unsuccesful Luftwaffe activity, lots of tactical air support for the troops. Faction wise you get the Brits failing to take Caen. You get the Americans heading towards Cherbourg and attempting to link up with their British cousins. The germans afcourse will be reeling yet throwing almost everything Rommel is entitled to at the beachhead. This is just from the top of my head though. edit: I did find mention of a counterattack by some german elements on june the 8th itsself, but that ran into a steel rain and got nowhere fast.

The only short guide that I know as distances are indicated at the start of each fragment.

try this then: Shaw: Fighter combat. Publisher is Naval institute Press On a lighter note but pretty much explaining the same: Air combat manoevres The technique and history of air fighting for flight simulation By J. Steve Thompson with Peter C. Smith. Of note; this book was written by somebody who loved Il2 and maybe played it a little too much.
-
alrighty then. About the terrain; how far inland will you go? I know you will start out on (either Southern England or) the beaches, but how far inland will the map go?
-
Two things actually: 1: I'm hoping that with the Normandy terrain now en route we will get some opposition of the period (190 A/F 109G) As far the Kurfurst and the Dora is concerned I hope these can be limited to pvp scenarios. 2:That olden goldie of Il2 days. Friday updates. Would it be too much to request a comeback of that feature? I do realize you have the kickstarter backers to think of as well, but I figure you can keep interest going by showing whats coming to those that were on the fence about this. The way do it; the kickstarter backers simply get a lot more to look at.

Distribution of DCS WW2 europe 1944; how? what and where? Where are we going to be able to get this fun stuff that you're going to build?
-
correct. There were Mustang groups that handed in their planes and switched to the P47.
-
better read up on the Eagle Squadrons and the 4th fighter group then. Although the unit is basically one and the same. They went from flying Spitfires to the P47 to the P51.
-
messing around with the goals at this time in the KS itsself; isn't that a little risky?
-
So basically, any terrain you would create after Normandy would be like a scenario (or for that matter a chapter from a book) with a few aircraft (if not already created in a previous terrain) Do I understand this correctly?

Question 7: I think the ai is affected by damage somewhat. This is purely based on what I've seen in some of the dogfight missions that are available online. One personal experience as well. I ended up firing on an ai FW190 (this was online as well) however I had to end the fight as his ai wingman got on my tail.... I later saw the 190 I shot at hit the water. I figured I hit something that caused that to happen... Question of my own: Will you prevent 'sniper'ai?
-
I knew quite a lot of work went into the P51, but this; whoa!!!!
-
Then we could be in for something. The difference between a mk IX with .303s and a mk IX with the universal wing that carried .50s was monumental. And 120 20mm rpg (rounds per gun)is nice as well.

The flare gun should be visible on the left side of the cockpit if I'm not to seriously mistaken...
