  1. plus eins.
  2. You know you could probably do the same with the K4, right?
  3. I'm curious about something else; a lot imagery of the time shows Spitfires being started up with the use of little battery carts. Will something similar be available here?
  4. This is only for the open beta version of DCS world.
  5. Starting (and running) a squadron is quite a lot of work. But I only know this because I see what's going on in the Il2 squad I'm in. And I'm just another Dutchy from down south checking in. Edit: As an afterthought; I've started work on a squadron template. So yeah, you could say that an attempt at forming yet another Dutch DCS squadron is underway.
  6. I suppose I'm one of those people who 'inherited' the love for aviation from a family member. My granddad spent time as a pilot during World war 2 and the start of the Cold war. Although some of his stories were quite chilling, I still was amazed by what he went through, and for some odd unphantomable reason I wanted to follow in his footsteps. Well, as it turned out, I couldn't follow in his footsteps, no head for maths, bad eyes, and since a number of years; autism. Luckily there are plenty of flightsims out there to keep me occupied.
  7. an AFM on the black sea beast? that's an even bigger joke then april fools day itsself!!
  8. easy answer: two weeks
  9. one hell of a camera ship as well.
  10. Far east isn't places like Kiev and Belarus, although I fear you may be right.
  11. okay, I'm officially envious now and secondly here's something you might want to look at
  12. its actually way easier then that. Got to your account and find your order IDs and copy them over to the bonus page.
  13. piece of Cake, the series (in its entirety, to my own surprise)based on the book by Derek Robinson.
  14. boring as hell seems more likely. You'd spend your time flying your aircraft for hours and hours over water where there's nothing to see, ultimately culminating in a sensor contact or a periscope sighting (soon dependant on the era) on which you'll drop a weapon the result of which you may not even observe.....
  15. well since you asked so nicely; The Valkyrie VF1 from Robotech/Macross The colonial Viper from the BSG show. Pure fantasy, I know.
  16. and there was probably nothing better back then than getting a beer cooled from 30k (or so) feet up.
  17. I can only hope those campaigns aren't as messed up as the original one that came with CLOD was. edit: besides: I have an idea (or two)of my own for this; “Dogtail red leader to Horsetrack, requesting vector back to your control area.” The other transmission from the second flight cut out the reply from the fighter controller. “ Red 2, Dogtail Blue lead. Do you see 'em?” I felt my head nodding but, for a brief couple of seconds, my mouth wasn't talking.
  18. Now I'm curious; would any further testing include the same approach/cooperation from TFC as done with the Mustang?
  19. evade a head on shot if he takes it. Turn the moment the ai cant get their guns on to you. then, keep him in sight and keep an eye on your speed. other then that, good luck. edit: if you're handy enough, you could load that mission into the fmb and lighten the fuel load.
  20. I found a shot of that bird in an Emergency episode....
  21. any biography of of the WW2 fighter pilots. Thunderbolt by Robert s. Johnston and Martin Caidin. I flew for the Fuhrer by Heinz Knoke Also worthy of a mention Jg26 war diary volumes 1 and 2 (2 is esspecially applicable for the P51 now (and later for the 190)
  22. That's half the fun right here.
  23. let's start a little earlier then: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/348th_Fighter_Group
