1979-> 2022 For the F-15C, is 43 years.
-
They are testing the configuration in an active status for when the Get their F-15EX's, they will also be flying in A2A Only Configuration in replacing the C's Previous Role.
-
Limited to specific Sqns, in Testing or Specific Regional Roles. The Same can be said for the reverse request to put CFTs on the F-15Cs. Either way it's up to RB, but even going by notso's Discord post, it's not planned to be anytime soon. I'll Take Ownership of the "No F-15E Currently Operating is removing CFTs" Comment, as that's obviously wrong, Thanks.
-
Sorry, In regards to 492nd FS They were operating in a modified A2A Configuration out of England / RAF Lakenheath for Training Purposes (ACE), And Testing / Limited deployment, the Functionality has not been deployed to the entire USAF / ANG Fleet, nor is it expected to.. It makes sense the USAF Started testing the configuration the last few years, as it's the configuration the F-15EXs are going to be running in the A2A Roles due to lack of CFT availability. Posting across 3 threads and 2 discords got my replies a bit jumbled. Export comment can tentatively work here as well though, as it's literally the same mechanic of removing A2G Items for Pure A2A Role.
-
Those are Export Operators, Article was implying that Current USAF/ANG Units were removing the CFTs from Currently Operating Es in the USAF / ANG Inventory to operate in the A2A Role, When it's in Fact the F-15EX's are being assigned to those units without CFTs to replace the F-15Cs. So I stand by my understanding of what the article is saying. My Status and Group on the forums have zero influence or impact on my statements.
-
F-15EX isnt a SE it's a SE II, F-15E's that are exported operate them in a manner in the last 4 or 5 years due to A2A Mission needs, So it would depend on how in depth RB wants to model export functions vs USAF/ANG F-15Es. Remodeling the external shouldn't be that hard, as it's the side panels and some Attachment points Creating an Alternate Flight Model, with the same engines, just adjusted Aero/Drag shouldn't be that hard, as the F-15E has the same Aero as the F-15D which has plenty of charts.

No I said the Title is mis-leading, Especially with the Wishlist requests here, for an F-15E w/ CFTs Removed. (Which the USAF doesn't do as they Have half a dozen A2A Role Aircraft to fill that role, Export Operators do if they have no A2A Role Aircraft). This article wont justify the request, as it's not a F-15E, let alone an F-15E from the modelled Era. F-15EX's that are going to C/D Sqns will not be getting CFTs, as they dont need them for the A2A Role. The A2G Hardpoints and Extra Fuel are not needed in Air Defense roles, so it's common sense, if they dont have enough to go to all F-15E/F-15EX Units, Exclude the Units that don't need them to operate their mission. F-15Es and F-15EXs replacing F-15Es in A2G Roles will continue to operate with the CFTs as they did before. The CFT's have no Impact on the Aircrafts A2A Role, as the Missile Truck configuration relies on the AMBER Racks and not the CFTs.
-
The Title of the Article is Mis-Leading, Current F-15E's aren't having CFTs Removed, The article is regarding the lack of CFTs Ordered with the F-15EX's, and When All the F-15EX's are delivered, there will not be enough CFT's for all F-15Es and F-15EX's, So the F-15EX's that are replacing Aging F-15Cs would likely choose to operate without the CFTs in a Pure A2A Configuration, Leaving the CFTs and more Available A2G hardpoints for the F-15E's As the F-15EX's can use the AMBER Launcher to carry plenty of AIM120s without the A2A Stores hardpoints on the CFTs. (As the 4 A2A Hardpoints on the CFTs, there's 4 A2A Hardpoints on the main airframe), Also the CFTs Do not have the Performance Impact that would be large enough to even be considered as a reason to remove them. The Article is grasping at straws for reasons, when the main and only reason will be CFT Availability. On that note: The External Model for the F-15E likely makes the CFTs Part of the model and not removable as there is likely no wasted polygons underneath. Second Note: The Image in the Article is a stock public image taken years ago during maintenance, not of actual CFT's being removed for A2A Roles. And in the picture itself, it's actually being re-installed.

The New Version is a Complete Rewrite and is not out yet, but in closed limited testing, as stated a few posts up. The First Public image was released on Christmas, with more content to follow as soon as functions are ready to be unveiled. Yes this is one of the weird behaviors of the old app and the profile switching I was alluding too.

Sorry I Posted and Update on my FB Page and forgot to post it here, as it's been a pretty busy last few weeks behind the scenes. Good Day Everyone, I Hope everyone is having a Safe new year. The App has been going through internal testing for a few weeks now, so far it's going smoothly, no major issues, Any bugs found are logged and processed, along with User Feedback. So far the main focus is on the major features, and thread syncing. There's still odd behaviors that need to be ironed out when it comes to threading. That being said this week was Phase I of the Cleanup process: -Cleaning out rem'd code that was left for testing functions and just in case I needed to revert to a previous code base for some functions, -Cleaning out unused controls, -Cleaning Out unused or replaced UI Art. It was also decided late in development to replace a majority of the controls due to how they reacted to being in a multi-threaded function. Work will continue on cleaning up the thread management functions as well as adding / cleaning up existing functions. There's still a few features that are only integrated as a basic level and need to be expanded to their full potential. Once I am closer to a release I will put out more visual content.

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
SkateZilla replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Lot 20 Legacy D Hornets went to the USMC and had a different SCS than the Hornet we have now, so it wouldnt be that easy. -
You'd Hypothetically see improvements in the 2 Scenarios where you were CPU Bound due to CPU Overhead, -When MT Launches you'd see improvements where you were CPU Bound due to AI Scripting and Objects bogging down a Mission. -When Vulkan Launches you'd also see improvements where you were CPU Bound due to DirectX Draw Call Overhead. outside of those 2 scenarios, you cannot use DLSS without an RTX GPU.

not planned Different version of engine exhaust IR deflector

It wasn't a statement that it was coming, it was a Hope that at some point it would. I Imagine completing the current systems and module, is more important than addon items at the moment. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
SkateZilla replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Lot 21/22/23 LRIP or Lot 24 Block I would be Realistic and feasible, if ED wanted to. As it would Run the same SCS our Legacy runs, the avionics are the same, Major differences would be engines, airframe/flight model/DFCS, EFEI Display, UFCD, and CMS Panel. But not worth a $79.99 Price Tag, as it's simply the legacy, w/ 2 more limited pylons, and a different flight model, I'd Bundle it with the Legacy Module, just to boost sales of the legacy, if you want one or the other, you'd still get both. The Legacy Hornet isn't even done yet, So even if ED wanted to, it wouldn't make any sense to migrate incomplete systems from one aircraft to another, then have to manage 2 aircraft. If the stars align and it were to happen, it would be after the Legacy is 100% complete, (Cockpit systems and Cockpit Modelling (i.e. Pilot)) That way the 3D Artists can work on the new external, revise the lot 20 cockpit to Lot 24 specs. The Flight Model Team can get LRIP/Block I Aero data pretty easily, along with all the other manuals for reference data. Then it's just a matter of adapting the existing systems to the Lot24, adding extra pylons to the SMS etc. The issue is users will want the Block II or better, that part is not really easily as feasible. The Super Hornet was designed to be a transitional Aircraft, it retained Legacy Hornet systems from LRIP1 thru Block I to allow pilots to transition easier to the new airframe, (and allowing companies to design/refine technology to be integrated in later blocks), while convincing congress it was not a new aircraft, just a revision of the old one (despite the airframe being completely changed, size and aerodynamically). Once Lot 25 -> Lot 26/Block II Production started, The Old Systems in a New Bird Trend ended there. The Old Hornet OFP language was replaced, the processors/mission computer, along with several cockpit systems and displays (AMCDs, ACS, FCN, DVMC, IDECM), along with DFCS and Control Surface utilization, and eventually the radar (AESA was delayed but Block II was pre-set for it.) But Like I said, that's 100% Speculation, and doubtful to happen, The Super Bug in the other new sim is only roughly 20-25% modelled systems wise, and cannot be used as a comparative or argumentative example. The Super Bug in the other old sim, is mostly guess work, and illusion of modelled systems and again cannot be used as a comparative or argumentative example. If someone's passionate about something they aren't gonna let it go, That being said, my frustration with answering the same questions over and over again kinda showed through, it is a wish list section and he can wish and wish and wish as much as he chooses too. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
SkateZilla replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Please Show me where HB, RB, and Leatherneck mixed and matched Lots of vastly different blocks.... Into one module, and I dont mean "we'll leave this missile in the loadout for time period sake", I mean "we are gonna use half the systems from an early block then add systems from the later block at the same time for module balancing". F-14A, was the equivalent of a fleet bird, not mix-matched lots/block, there's literally 32 Blocks of the F-14A (1-12 were test aircraft), and most of them were modified by Sqns when delivered and never stayed Factory Set. F-14B, same concept, fleet bird, entirely different aircraft from the F-14A, But enough common elements to make developing 2 aircraft in one module cost effective. there's 3 blocks of the F-14B, the only difference between the 3 is which ones were new, which ones were upgraded from A, and which ones had the upgraded ECM Radios. Most Earlier Block F-14A/Bs were upgraded w/ the new ECM to match the Late Block B, the only difference being the engines and the gun vent. F-14D, entirely different from A/B, as everything has been converted from analog to digital. there's 3 blocks of the F-14D, again, denoting new, or rebuilt, as well as the last block . As for Lot 29 Front and Lot 24 Rear, have you not been paying attention. Lot 29 is HOL, Lot 24 is SCS, two ENTIRELY DIFFERENT PROGRAMMING LANGUAGES and Processors. Lot 29 also consists of several base components that are classified, AESA for one. without that, you dont have anything else. -
This maybe related to how the APP Does Profile Switching, with renaming 2 files. Options.lua -> Options_Backup.lua and Options_<Preset> -> Options.lua if a file is otherwise locked it will skip the loading and launch dcs, if there's a delay it will launch DCS Before the files are correctly renamed. (it should show in the logs that it skipped and used default) The Presets in the old app also had issues with restoring the default options.lua after crashes. The new App the Profile Switching was re-written, I have yet to see this behavior, but at the same time I was not looking for it, but I'll make a test note.

F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
SkateZilla replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Where does Razbam or Deka say they are using 2 different Suites/OFPs that are 2 different languages on the same aircraft? The Aircraft represent fleet birds, based off a specific lot and suite with upgrades that actually happened in the fleet. No Super Hornet has Ever had 2 a mix-match of two different Lot's Cockpits. -
AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX undervolt test.
SkateZilla replied to Thinder's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
It takes a lot of work to tune any system , AMD, Intel, nVidia regardless. Even Pre-builts from stores, often have the wrong bios settings. SMA w/ an 3D V-Cache CPU will also show huge improvements. Often the "Horrible Performance on a xxxxxxxxxxx GPU" threads are due to mis-configuration of the settings. -
F/A18E/F Super Hornets block 1 and BLock 2 E/F ( lot 26)
SkateZilla replied to Kev2go's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Lot = A Batch of Airframes in a Manufacturing group. You cant mix-max Lots in one airframe. ie, Lot 24 ran SCS and SCS-25X, Lot 25+ Ran HOL SCS-H10+, You cant mix and match them, they are 2 different programming languages. -
