A little addition to how it works on the AH-64 the "throttles" have 3 modes OFF, GND and FLY. At FLY the FADEC (4x ECUs, 2 per engine, one in control, one as a backup and checking the primary) attempt to keep the NP (Power Turbine speed) and thus the NR (Rotor speed) at the nominal RPM (eg 100%). Also there are "Collective anticipators" that detect demands on the collective and ramp up torque so that the NP and thus NR doesn't "Droop" when hauling the handle to your armpit because some muppet has put up a new mobile phone mast and neglected to pop it on a chart. Listen to an old Lynx maneuvering and you'll hear the slight changes in NR (Droop) as the old FCU (analogue Fuel Control Unit and no collective anticipators) fights to maintain demand. These flying egg beaters sure have come a long way these days! Rotor over speeds quite often happen when you dump collective quickly or when in autorotation. This doesn't have a huge impact on the drive train as there is minimal torque but stresses the strap packs (AH-64 equivalent of tie bars that absord centrifugal loads). Drive train damage can occur when pulling too much torque. Particularly at sea level, in temperate climes and especially when you have a couple of engines meant for a Merlin! (Silly brits do love dropping overpowered engines into foreign airframes, Tucano, cough, cough)

The HIDAS system is still in use on many current UK platforms so no chance any useful data will be available. It'd be nice to have the RTM322 motors as for hot and high ops it gives much greater flexibility in loadouts. It'd be nice to have the option for RCEFS and IAFS for some extended loiter time.

Sorted yep seemed to be a server issue. It went all sorts of wonky asking for serials for modules that have been keyless for ages. All sorted and back to normal now.

Just loaded up the lastest stable update and opened DCS world and it said that my modules were not valid on my account and promptly removed all of my modules. I have been a customer since DCS black shark and now have no modules to play. What the hell is going on?

Dear all at Eagle Dynamics. With the lockdown here in the UK, DCS is the one way that me and my 71 year old Dad can still interact with each other. By all means a phone call or a skype is great, but nothing beats some low level hell raising through the streets of Sin City. Massive thank you for making this possible. :pilotfly: Rich in Somerset. PS:He's loving the Falcon!

It was a day one pre order for me. Very much looking forward to seeing how far the supercarrier can push the game engine in terms of realistic deck ops. Keep up the great work ED.

No modifiers used and no conflicts in controls.

Cancel my last. I have deleted the F/A-18C input folder and allowed DCS to create a new one. This has rectified the issue although I'm still unsure as to it's origin as no control changes were made between update. Thanks for your help and suggestions all.

Yep SOI is correct and all steps followed as per Wag's videos. Will post a track later. For further info this is a vanilla install with no unofficial 3rd party mods. Is it worth me creating a new controls lua and trying again?

I cannot uncage any weapon. No handoff on HARM, no uncage on Maverick E/F. I have tried remapping the button to a different button on my TM Warthog but to no avail. Buttons show as working in controls menu. This has only happened since the new OB update. Any ideas?

Wags and the rest of the ED Team. Well done!! It's as stated "Early Access" but the basics are there. It's a solid foundation to build on. I personally like the EA way of releasing these aircraft. I get to learn in nice bite size pieces. Starting with general handling then working my way through the systems as they mature. The Viper flies beautifully and the view from the pit on triple monitor with trackir is incredibly immersive. Add to that the stellar job you've done with the sounds and this is shaping up to be a real beaut! On that note will other, already released aircraft get the benefit of this overhauled sound engine? You've had my support since the Black Shark 1 days and I will continue supporting the pinnacle of desktop flight simulation. Keep up the great work!!

I've only noticed this with AI F-16s as wingmen.

[ALREADY REPORTED]MP: Ladders are Extended In The Air
MrNelz replied to Devrim's topic in Multiplayer Bugs
Confirmed here as well. Own aircraft looks fine but other players have ladders down and vice versa when viewed from said players. -
Which rounds do you have loaded? If you don't have tracers loaded you won't see the rounds

Any idea what is going on with this update? I initially launched the updated and it said 300mb to be downloaded. The upodater decide to crash halfway through the update at about the 129mb point and on re launching it's now 1268mb to download. I haven't made it to the DCS menu yet :-)

300kb/s here!! If I listen carefully I can hear the dial up tone in the background :megalol:

It's 1605 no update, no viper. I want a full refund, I will delete DCS, launch all my teddies from the pram, post 14 million times on reddit how awful DCS is, get banned from the forums and then in an hours time sheepishly click.....Update DCS World OpenBeta :D

Attempting to connect via IP returns an 'Address unavailable' prompt. I can access files from each machine and they are correctly networked. Both sit on static IPs so there is no conflicts. I will try the IPv6 method this evening.

Confirmed ports are forwarded correctly

As far as I'm aware. I've changed no settings. Unles the latest windows update knocked out the settings

I have a dedicated server set up on another PC connected by LAN to the same router as my main DCS PC. I am unable to see my own server although my friends can see it on the server list. This has only started in the last week. I have checked that both machines are running the same version (Stable 2.5.5.34864) and repaired both. Any ideas?

Yep although I'll defer to the pilot with 2000hrs over my piddly 12hrs in the Gazelle. I use the Warthog on a long extension to achieve a similar feel to the real aircraft. It'd be nice to have the proper collective and pedals. And yes I am giving latitude to the developer with reference to sim capabilities.
-
As someone who has worked on the Gazelle for many years as an engineer and has flown it IRL during test flights I can only say that the stick forces are incredibly light. You fly the Gazelle with fingertips. The only time there is any noticeable feedback is when operating in manual reversion with the hydraulics off (guarded selector switch on collective). There are some faults with the modules FM especially when flying beyond the normal operating envelope but otherwise it is pretty close. I've not flown a SAS equipped model but even without it's a very stable platform.

Mine arrived last week. I quite like the smaller logo felix! Thanks Heatblur!!

There's a great book in digital and paperback that gives a great insight into flying and fighting in the Bronco in SE Asia. https://www.amazon.com/Lonely-Kind-War-Forward-Controller/dp/0891416382
