  1. In the time it took you to write this post you could have found instructions on how to do it if you put in even a modicum of effort to do so.
  2. Some occasional rain or clouds would be a welcome addition to Blue Flag, indeed.
  3. You would think this, but you'd be surprised at how obtuse people are when presented with stats information that indicate foul play. Another example from IL2 BoS, the TAW campaign (similar to Blue Flag) had stat tracking and showed two players that topped the leaderboards in kills and quadrupled any runner-up's air kills in half the play time. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it's probably... ...a Russian guy using a hex editor to manipulate difficulty variables on his client while online. ...but again, that was IL2.
  4. I agree with this sentiment 110%, but there is also some value in discussing these types of things publicly so people are made aware of it so they can catch it when it's happening in front of them. A lot of the regulars in the IL2 BoS community refuse to believe that there are cheats and exploits happening under their noses and keeping the discussion only in private messages and essentially verboten via public mediums only exacerbates the ignorance. Don't want that happening here.
  5. Find the coordinates of a target in a persistent server like Blue Flag (by any means necessary) and the Viggen is a real threat. I have a notepad file that's full of coordinates from past sorties that I reference to create calibration points, targets, and flight plans. Bind the keypad in your cockpit to the number pad on your keyboard and you can have everything entered in less than a minute if you have any ten-key typing skills. Most sorties I fly I don't even get locked by even the most dangerous SAMs due to flying so low and fast. It's calibrating nav radar and battling nav drift that usually spoils my objective being completed.
  6. Right around when DataLink and Mistral slots were added...but that's all we have visibility on of the changes. Not saying either of those are the definite cause of the lag. I'm sure there's other things that get changed in a mission on the backend that we don't exactly get or need to get details on. Ciribob already stated he's going to work backwards to find out what is the main culprit.
  7. I realized as soon as my post went up it would be disregarded or cut down because it's from me. Not sure what I was thinking trying to rationalize any discussion of tactics with you guys here.
  8. Oh wow, I think we found the real issue with the Su27. If you guys are telling me you're not manipulating the Radar on/off RWR mechanics of DCS then you need to reevaluate how you're approaching the problem. This is not trolling in any way shape or form. I never ever just turn my radar on and leave it for the entire flight. I use it in a deliberate manner so I can keep the element of surprise because I know so many people have become accustomed to foolishly only looking at their RWR and not out of their canopy. This is the same with every aircraft with an A2A radar, not just the Su27. Think about it...there's no reason to keep your radar on at all times while in transit to the area, you're just announcing from hundreds of miles away to anyone in the area and beyond with an RWR that you're coming. Flip it on for a few seconds to get a picture if you need to, then turn it off/standby. This applies to multiple other situations where you don't need radar on during escort, pursuit/intercept of an enemy, retreat, etc. I think you should be taking a second look at how these mechanics work and take advantage of radar on/off modes. EDIT: How is the Mirage neutered?? Because D2M is removed? Neutered? No, not true in the slightest.
  9. Please elaborate on how not flying with your radar on at all times equates to airquake style or prevents you from doing any of the things you listed.
  10. I discovered that it's insanely easy to never ever get surprised or put into an unfavorable situation while in an Su27 by zero conscious effort of my own merit with DataLink on. I think it's important to realize why people were flying the Su27 and how far the pendulum has swung. RWR differences keep getting mentioned...have any of you tried not having your radar on 100% of the time? If an F-15/Mirage's RWR is such an advantage why not effectively take that out of the equation as much as possible?
  11. Ah I get it now, you guys are saying that blue should not complain because you got what you wanted after complaining, and blue should now adjust their tactics even though you did not have to. So the logic only applies when it's not you asking for something. I see.
  12. Uhh what? I'm saying I don't need to adjust my tactics for survival because I have DataLink...the thing I was saying was a bad idea to add simply because people didn't want to adjust their tactics. You either misunderstood my post or just want to be snarky. I'm commenting on how much of a crutch DataLink is.
  13. Yeeeeep, plenty of times in an Su27 I would have been shot down if I didn't have DataLink. It's a lot more powerful than people have made it out to be in this thread.
  14. Mission is going to be reset very soon. Any chance we can coordinate team populations for the sake of balance? Any possibility RvE wants to switch to blue so TWB doesn't have to be the volunteer each time?
  15. No one is referencing only ARH missiles...they're referencing the longer than 10 mile range missiles which aren't all ARH. 27ER, 27ET...They are SARH and IR at BVR (Ideally) to include AIM120 and R77 in that BVR group. I can see aircraft at 10 miles.
  16. Yeah this...allowing BVR weapons should be very surgical and deliberate and above all, limited. One or two bases in the back as an option to land at for BVR stuff and an option for enemies to attack is just enough. Allowing BVR at potentially any base with a ferry flight is dangerous gameplay territory.
  17. Amount of lives per 6 hours next to airframe types. Red = Red team Blue = Blue team Yellow= Both teams STANDARD - 3: F-15, Su27, Su33, Mig29, Mirage 2000 GROUND-ATTACK - 4: A-10C, A-10A, Su-25, Su-25T, AJS37, Ka-50 RECON - 6: L-39C, L-39ZA, Hawk (<---I don't know about these) TF-51D TRANSPORT - 6: UH-1H, Mi-8MT, SA342Mistral, SA342L, SA342M INTERCEPT - 4: F-5E-3, MiG-21Bis
  18. Yes, "we" do need to "punish" all players...that is, if by "punish" you mean "play the game with any semblance of penalty for losing and seeing something other than fighter/missile deepthroat power hour then rage quit." You're coming at it from a goal of wanting a player to reach 0 lives as the punishment for losing. That's treating the symptom...treat the cause and insist that the player not want to lose any lives and you'll see a more rewarding tactical type of gameplay from both winning and losing sides of the engagement. Oops.
  19. Having specialized ordnance airfields that you cannot spawn at but have to fly to is a great idea. Would it be on the frontline or protected deep in your own territory? If it's on the frontline and heavily contested it has potential to cause a snowball effect for whoever gets it and allow them to steamroll the whole map. If it's in deep in each team's own territory it could present a strategic target for the opposing team, but would lengthen the time people could get back to the combat area because they'll want to get that ordnance if they get shot down...oh my god you just solved the fighter spam refueling time issue.
  20. I've brought exactly this up before and got skewered for it because everyone believes that they're doing everything 100% the right way every time in every engagement. This is what started the last 50 pages of debate, actually. I've even highlighted when other people have said that we should be talking about pilot skill and practices for extra effect, and for some reason it comes off as I'm just attacking people. I don't understand the world anymore.
