Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 9

Seconded. Rather have a Mistral than an L...The Huey can do the L's job better. -

I'm all for dealing with the dangers and pitfalls of venturing into dangerous hostile territory, but the people that feel the same are few and far between. I can't say I blame them...it's pretty discouraging to fly for an hour and get shot down by a single AI soldier that is hiding in non-collision trees that someone left 6 hours ago, have him cleared out, then get shot down again an hour later on your next flight by the one that was just a mile down the road. It's not that bad on Red team as you can use the Ka-50 and get freebie all-seeing-eye enemy location info with the ABRIS, but it's agony on Blue. The only feasible way to find a MANPAD on blue is to get shot at (or down) by one. -

The SAM persistence is getting a little out of hand. As effective as it may be, it's really not fun to deal with while in a transport and it's turning a lot of people off of flying the transport role. -
Targets destroyed with BK 90 don't count for score

I meant to the DCS engine, I would think functionally the process would be similar to the currently working CBU...release canister object, object spawns bomblet objects at calculated point, canister object continues trajectory, canister object is deleted once impact with ground. -

The Viggen is a bit broken in some of the FARP slots. It's plagued with a bug that makes their navigation and waypoint systems inoperable when spawned in a cold start state. This can be fixed by spawning them with their engines on (reportedly). -

Is it possible to provide some insight into what the obstacle for implementing the BK90 is? I'm curious how something like the CBU series on the A10 can work in the current state of the game but something similar like the BK90 can't. -

Unrelated...there is a Ka50 spawn that is labeled incorrectly at Oni farp...or the Ka50 doesn't belong there and is supposed to be a transport heli. -

FARP platforms where you rearm and refuel are just a kilometer or so away from where the helicopters spawn, you just have to find them. Once you destroy all of the enemy units you will see a notification that the objective is closed and ready for capture. You will then need to use a transport helicopter (Huey or Mi-8 ) to bring Standard Troops (you load them by using the F10 radio menu CTLD commands) to the area (land near the objective and use F10 radio menu CTLD commands to unload them). This is usually only accomplished by teamwork and multiple people since the enemy units will begin respawning 30-45 minutes after you start the attack on the first unit. Also, once the enemy objective is closed and all the units are destroyed enemy infantry will spawn at the area and need to be found/destroyed before you can capture. -

I'm beginning to think you guys just plain don't like this game very much or it's just not for you. You keep trying to argue and convince me that my opinion is wrong at everything I say as if I'm the one you need to convince to get what you want. -

Why wouldn't anyone trying an aircraft for the very first time have struggles? That's not attributed to the flaccid inferior cannon fodder it's being made out to be here. -

Thanks a ton for taking the time to edit the Huey loadouts and adding FARPs. It's greatly appreciated. I hope you know that it's not everyone that thinks red is nerfed...my group and I just flew red for two months straight and enjoyed it with no glaring issues (before the Mirage infestation started). Trying Blue again now to change it up and giving a few of ours a chance to buy/try the Gazelle. -

Sooooo...you are getting kills without DataLink? Haha compelling testimony to your cause. I hope you find a server running a mission you enjoy some day. -

You and I both know what ever I say you're going to pick apart, critique heavily, deny and/or just plain not believe...come on now. Also, "actual missile effectiveness" coming from you seems to be an extremely subjective term, so I don't think we can get anywhere close to agreeing on that. You do you, though. Keep workin' at it in the Su27, it might work out some day. EDIT: I can tell you shouldn't be demanding anything about balance on Blue Flag just by the tone of this post. The purpose of the Su27, or any fighter on Blue Flag, is to protect the ground attack assets and hold off air threats for long enough for the attackers to get their mission completed. It's not even about getting kills in first place...why are you all so focused on this?? You've clearly lost sight on why this server/mission exists and, again, trying to steer it into airquake/fighter, fighter, fighter gameplay territory. -

I'd say it was a serious degradation of expectations of what successful tactics are. Are you going to base the discussion on this on "probablys" now? Why is it so hard to believe that someone effed up in combat, got mad, and tried to vent by deferring the error on the design of the game? Have you never online gamed before?? This is the Internet we're dealing with. -

To get more Su27's in the air the Mirage needs to have it's fuel drained, slots reduced, and spawn pushed back. Problem solved. I'm not here to give everyone a how-to, but when I see things like someone waiting until they're 2 miles away from their opponent in a head on engagement to turn after firing uncoordinated missile spam, get splashed by a single fired 530D, exclaim "530's are dumb" in chat, then promptly post on the BF thread about how it should all be changed it tends to need some attention and wrangling back to sanity. -

Haha I'm reading the previous posts and realizing that when I address and correct things like your misconceptions about radar/BVR differences you guys move the goal posts of the conversation to fit your argument and start talking about the issue being RWR SA instead of radar. Do you think I'm trying to be better than you by proving you wrong or something? I could care less about that. I want everyone to be happy and have fun. I don't want people that can't handle their personal challenges to change it up for the rest of us that can. -

AbortedMan replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
You're telling me that being lower than a Mirage is the disadvantagous position to be in and I'm the one that doesn't know squat about flying the Su27? This is probably why you think the 530D is some sort of ultra-missile. Do some research before you start throwing that trash around. The fact is I got my peepee slapped real hard when using the Su27 multiple times so I went to other servers and practiced against human opponents until I consistently survived and got kills with every available weapon system reliably. Then I did it all again with a wingman. You know what? It worked. What I did not do is run to the server's forum thread and try to change the mission rule set to cater to my shortcomings as a person who cannot have some introspective criticism, cannot learn from their mistakes and misconceptions, and cannot grasp new concepts. You know why? Because it does not work. Please, please tell me you're saying you're blaming your Su27 losses on RWR differences. Please. -

AbortedMan replied to gregzagk's topic in Multiplayer
I don't know why you guys are still trying to convince me. You're moving back into hyperbole where the Su27 can simply do nothing on the server effectively. It's just not true. If it were as bad as you're saying I wouldn't be concerned about seeing them in the sky. You can live in the defeatist role where you're forced to play other aircraft because you just can't seem to figure out how the other Su27 players are doing it all you want. Call me out for "personal attacks" just because I disagree with you and can provide good enough reasons to argue against all you want too. It won't ever solve your real problem. -

Wow..."yes" to every one of those questions. That pretty much sums up the level of conjecture and subjective critique on what is and isn't going on. It's clear we're not going to convince each other of anything. I do implore you to observe what team has won the last couple of map rotations during this test session (it's been red ~3:1, btw). The fact that you think the Su27 is so inferior is completely lost on me and a whole bunch of others. I'm thankful that Ciribob and the other authorities on the server are observant of the actual gameplay situation and I trust their judgment of feedback more than I trust yours. -

Two things: 1. Learn to use the Russian RWR. It actually does give information on multiple contacts. It gives more information than the Mirage/F15 RWR like radar strength/distance as well as relative altitude. You don't have distance information on the Western RWR...the symbols in closer/further away from the center are not distances (like 99% of people think). It's the computer using whatever algorithm to tell you what is the biggest threat, but it does not have context in which that threat is presented. 2. Why do you want BF to be like 104th so badly? That's exactly what I would hope people do not want to happen. I play on Blue Flag because I do not enjoy the missions on 104th or Open Conflict. Is that the goal here...to turn Blue Flag into 104th? -

The Mirage tracks at 65nm and can lock at 50nm as per the manual and my in-game experience. In my tests with the Su27 some time ago it can track a fighter sized target at 120km (65nm) and lock at 40nm. I honestly wouldn't call that "just so much better", especially with the added detriment to the Mirage's radar being subject to clutter filtering and losing track/lock MUCH more probable. That isn't the case for the Su27's radar. This is the stuff I'm talking about. Conjecture overcoming your testimony. This is definitely not the stuff that current balance issues should be criticized and manipulated by!
