Hm. weird. All of my Hueys are dark green after 1.2.6. No matter which paint scheme I select (at least from US ones, didn't tried other countries), it always ends having olive green paint. Repair function does not help. Anyone else having this? Thanks!

Whaaat?! Wing flex is implemented? Have to check it out NOW! :joystick: Beautiful, ED, and those wing vortices too! Next step to look forward is that engine smoke, and then Su-27 AFM. So I will finally make use of my FC3 install. :) Great!

Logitech G940 FFB... old dreaded reversal bug
Rotorhead replied to zaelu's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
I presume it's a bug as all other A/C have it right. Fortunately, an easy one to fix. Yep, seems like they are completely disconnected from trim. Which is nice for me, as it is exactly how I fly the Huey (and still hope ED will finally implement the same for the Shark), but it would be nice to have an on/off option to suit all hardware / customer preferences. -
Yes, when looking at it from pilot's seat, it becomes extremely noticeable.

Logitech G940 FFB... old dreaded reversal bug
Rotorhead replied to zaelu's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Yeah, FFB is "broken" right now. But if you click "FF tune" in your controls menu and check both "Invert X" and "Invert Y", it will "fix" itself again. Tested, it works for me with G940. Dunno why Belsimtek implemented FFB this way, but I'm thankful to ED for giving us those little "Invert" buttons. -

If the Mighty-8 is released today...
Rotorhead replied to RagnarDa's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
It's mine! :clap_2: My autoupdater is working fine, d'l-ing 1.2.6 now. Although it seems to take helluva time, but who cares. At least something to be excited for when I come back from work tomorrow. :) -
If the Mighty-8 is released today...

Christmas is coming earlier this year! Preparing to draw my credit card as fast as I can. :) Who's Madonna? What's CDs? :hehe: -
Ah, right you are. Forgot about Euro ones. Quite a shame as I am from Europe. :) However, I'd still like to know why the 'Mericans decided to do it the other way than the rest of the world. Well, I'd happily test it as soon as you release the Hip. I'm pretty sure the first thing I do will be a uncontrollable left-hand spin, followed by a catastrophic crash. :D Sure, it won't cause much trouble while in flight, but putting my stick a little bit left and aft off the center, together with stepping on the left pedal, became sorts of involuntary reflex for me when taking off with the Huey. I guess rewiring my brain for Mi-8 will take some time. When you think about it, it actually makes sense. Thanks!;)

When we're at it, can I have one OT question? Why do the rotors of Soviet-built helicopter spin in the exactly opposite direction than those of Western ones? Is it for some engineering reason? Or did they just pick one direction randomly and then kept it just because of tradition? Is it as sign of the East-West rivalry? If your rotors are spinning clockwise, our will spin counter-clockwise just for the heck of it? Or is it done to confuse enemy pilots, so they can't just hop into your chopper and fly right away, like we did in Operation Flashpoint? :D

I don't know, but I remember someone from Belsimtek (PilotMi8 probably?) saying that Mi-8 is actually more stable than Huey as long as SAS is on (or whatever is that device called), but less stable with SAS off. However, it's bigger, heavier chopper, so it definitely won't be easy. Especially in tight spaces for example. And I won't even mention that gazillion switches, it looks like in a freakin' space shuttle! Other than that, I agree on pretty much everything you said. -
Agreed, my friend! I'd happily buy any helo simulated on this level even if it had no guns at all. The rewarding feeling of taming that beast and moving from uncontrollable crashing to something that can be called a stable hover or precision landing is satisfying enough as it is. I remember the joy of flying Ka-50, and to be honest, I'm a little sad that I don't fly it as much as I want because of the Huey. I mean, Ka-50 is still my all-time favorite, but after trying the Huey (although I don't like this ugly helo just a bit), the Shark just doesn't feel challenging enough. And in (hopefully) short time, I won't touch the Huey because of Mi-8. But that's life I guess. :)

If the Mighty-8 is released today...
Rotorhead replied to RagnarDa's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
IIRC, in the very beginning, they said they want to release it by the end of last year. Well, it took a little bit longer in the end. ;) -
Sorry, didn't took my time to read this whole thread (quite an increase in post count since I looked last time! :)), but I don't see anyone really bitching over here. People are voicing their opinions, and since they are potential paying customers, it's their holy right. As long as people do it in a civilized way (and I was kindly surprised with this thread), I don't see nothing wrong with that. After all, it will be us who will pay for their products. As for me, I really like the idea of optional separate installs. If you only want DCS WWII, or you have both, but don't want to be bothered by jets in your WWII install, have them installed separate. For the rest of us, an option to integrate both worlds into one install would be very welcome. Devs, please consider this option. I think many people here would be thankful.

I'm afraid that most frequent complaint will be "Why don't you release it today? You promised it!" I'd love to be proven wrong though. -
Was thinking about pretty much the same.
-
Which is what I hope for as well. But as I said, many things will have to happen in very short time. So let's keep our fingers crossed, expect the worst and hope for the best. As are us flight simmers doing all the time. If we aren't trolling the forums. :)

I must admit, I'm still not getting the idea of two separate cores. So I will have to keep two installs of DCSW, even if its major feature was to get all the modules working under one roof? But on the other hand, my modules will work in both of those installs? Doesn't it defeat the purpose of separate cores then? Anyway, looking eagerly forward to the video. Let's hope they have heaps of relevant info to throw at us. If so, I'm in! DCS Spitfire, P-38 or B-17 will be soooo sweet!

I hate to be a rain on your parade guys, but do you realize that 1.2.6 must be released prior to Hip? As 1.2.6 will be open beta, we were told that we'll learn all the details in due time. And since there was no info on the beta yet, like how it will actually work, how to opt in and out, how to report bugs or maintain several installs in parallel, I'm not overly optimistic about it. Really, don't mean to spoil the fun, but in order to enjoy the Hip on Monday, quite a few things need to happen in the following 24 hours.
-
No cats were harmed during making of this video. 'cept that one squashed against a wall... ;)
-
Fair point. Especially now, when 1.2.6 will be released as public beta. So, we users are also beta testers, supposed to look after bugs and report them. And not knowing what exactly was changed does not really help us in understanding the possible cause of the bugs.
-
Let's hope that this wonderful video will somewhat reduce the "I won't buy until the Huey is finished" crowd... :)
-
Surely, they will: Sorry, couldn't help myself... ;)
-
Haven't seen the fan spinning in that video. Result = POOOOOOOR SIMULATION.... :megalol: Just joking of course. Beautiful video, you guys are setting new standards for DCS. Absolutely can't wait for this one, I think I won't be flying anything except this for quite some time. I wonder though if I will be ever able to learn all those switches. You already have my money BST, love this chopper and love all your work.

Wow, that modern VVS black (or dark grey?) scheme looks fantastic. Never seen Mi-8 in those colors before, me like!
