  1. Well, the report clearly says what everybody who dared to admit already knew. F-22 is a BVR aircraft, it's pilots should maintain and extend back to BVR as much as they can 'cause merging into WVR turn fights is where Raptor's advantages bleak.
  2. So make Raptor pilots wear Blackbird space suits and you've solved the "Raptor problem"...
  3. perhaps some of the vehicles in the column can't go that fast...
  4. Yes but it flew higher and faster than anything else and noone experienced any side effects...
  5. ^^^^ Hmm, what would the SR-71 pilots say?
  6. So these MiG-21bis squadrons are still operational?!
  7. This report indicates that RF-4 was indeed inside Syrian terriorial waters / airspace. Territorial waters extend 12NM from the shore... Another clue: as reports state it was shot by AAA and AFAIK range of todays AAA is 3-4NM, it was problably shore based AA so...
  8. Yes, I've read the local newspaper, seems the aircraft is at the depth of 1000m... RIP.
  9. I've heard about firefighting Planes offered to US but I haven't heard anything on Su-27 flying to Syria...What are you talking about?
  10. Yes, you can see the F-16 pilot is using out of plane maneuvers such as hi and lo Yo-Yo to do so. However all these are Mil throttle setting maneuvers, I wonder what would it look like in 6G AB combat...
  11. Yes all of Iraqi Floggers were flown to Batajnica AB in summer 1991. None of them ever saw any combat with former JRV & PVO and plans of their return fell apart after Desert Storm. They used to sit on Batajnica tarmac during 1991-99 when some of them were destroyed during NATO OAF. All planes that survived OAF are preserved in museum near Surcin. Sorry for OT. Any ideas or official reports on who actually shot Turkish RF-4? Was it the Russians?
  12. You probably never shook a Fulcrum pilots hand...
  13. Same happened with Iraqi Floggers in 1990 that were refurbished in ZMAJ - Yugoslavia. These aircraft never returned to Iraq after they invaded Kuwait.
  14. I can't believe that amidst all that's going on in Syria Russians are to deliver new attack helicopters to Syrian army...
  15. What did they say? Can you provide us with some links? I'm sorry for the pilots, I hope they're OK! Now you see what a 40 year old plane is capable of...However I'm sorry to hear that an old piece of NATO hardware is more valuable than loss of hundreds or perhaps thousands of lives that happened during last 16 months od Syrian uprising.
  16. I failed to notice what happened to the pilots of the downed Phantom? What actually happened here is noting new...It's very common to task obsolete aircraft of low value with probing of "enemy" air defence. Now that you mentioned that there was a Russian Udaloy II destroyer near by I'm starting to think that she was the focus of this recon flight. I can hardly believe that Udaloy was sitting in Syrian waters so I might conclude that downed aircraft was not neccessarily inside Syrian airspace but inside Udaloy's safe perimeter or pehaps repeatedly buzzing her tower at 200ft MSL which finally triggered the attack. Observing destroyers usually stick to international waters. Looks like they were asking for it...
  17. This is kinda optimistic compared to RL, Don't you think?
  18. WOLFGANG STARK SHOULD BE BANNED FROM BEING A REFEREE...WHEN IT COMES TO CROATIA IT'S ALWAYS A REFEREE IN PICTURE..
  19. Nice job Portugal!
  20. The more I listen to it the more it feels better, local radios here are playing it every hour and a half but I don't mind. Anyway sorry for OT. But let's get back to it: GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!
  21. I believe this song was already used with some fighterjet videos...
  22. No, hitting the runway is performed is same manner as hitting a bridge, I can see these craters are pretty perpendicular to it at that there's 20+ craters in each line which makes me think it's a FAB-250 dropped from a Tu-22...
  23. I see no Mig-23...
  24. ^^^^ I disagree, the main reason of MiG-29A procurement in ex-Yu during 1987 was airspace defense. They finally served their purpose as they weren't used during 1991-99 wars in former Yu countries. Without intention of going political here I must say that I am a Croat, living in Croatia ever since I was born but I'm proud of such serbian decision of sending their prime fighters and veteran pilots up against the threat. If you have no adequate weapons you can always throw rocks at the enemy if it's Your contry they're messing with!
