  1. If you are trying to auto lock another aircraft all you need to do is select bore sight mode again and it will auto lock the closest aircraft in the parameters. So make sure your new selected target is dead center of your hud and your previous bandit is not Press bore sight or VSS and it will then drop the previous lock and reacquire the next. Do not switch to guns as that will not drop the lock.
  2. While I think the developers some times should resolve issues. How ever in my opinion this is an unreasonable request you're asking for.. Do you know how many models of Joysticks are on the market? Trying to make every single joy stick to work out of the box is IMPOSSIBLE. This is why there is a thing called axis tune. In the f15 there is a thing mounted on the stick that is like what is used in the f16, It is a pressure sensor. Thus any tiny pressure applied can activate the control surfaces. In this sim and in the real jet, any pressure applied to this portion [even with out breaking out of center] will temporarily disengage the AP. So as I said the issue is the fact that the game is interpreting the constant movement of your stick [even though you're not touching it] and not allowing the AP turn on. As I said the options on this is to figure a way to stop the output on the stick at center or use a deadzone so the game knows you truly are not touching the stick. You cannot blame the developers for a poor design of a manufactures joystick. What you're asking for is in the same lines of asking the developers to fix the game because someone might have turrets syndrome and their track IR goes Hay Wire when they have an episode. BTW the reason you and others don't have an Issue with AP while flying the A10c is because it's autopilot is not force sensitive to the stick. I.e. it only turns off when the entire jet goes beyond XX degrees in pitch or ROLL. Again, your Option 4 is not a valid option as there is nothing wrong with the f15's AP[well in context to what you're referring to] rather a problem with your equipment. So I revised those options and provided an Option 4 that make sense. Option 1. you deal with the reality that you have a crappy joy stick and just deal with out AP. Option 2. you buy a new Joystick Option 3. you your self take the initiative to resolved your joy sticks faults Either A. you do it your self which can include writing software, changing/altering windows drivers, or by using the games axis tune. This can include both deadzone and curvature to help reduce pilot induced oscillations. or B you contact the manufacture and ask them to fix the centering issue[by the way good luck with that] Option 4. you stop flying the f15c or the sim all together. Option 5. you continue to keep complaining on this thread to no avail as there is nothing to be done to help you.
  3. The sarh method is probably refering hoj guidance where the seaker head is not activly pinging a target.
  4. lbst is 30nm. But yet, guns mode should be slewable. So guns is using VSS, to me it seems to be a little bit more wider in search and less elevation but it might just be me.. Still, if I have visual and can point the nose straight at my target ill use borescope for AAQ. I'd rather have SS as at times BS requires a bit more finess and also means I have to fly directly at it which can put me in an "unfavorable" position
  5. As far as "pointing" the nose at a target vissualy, you can do this with the eagle with less effort then the flanker.. how ever there is a HUGE feature missing in the eagle in this regards. SuperSearch, currently with the eagle you either use VSS or Bore [you could use Guns which is a little better then bore]. How ever if we only had SSM it would be much much easier then what we have now and what the Flanker has.
  6. I dunno flankers can keep those mountains.. I've watched err chased a few of them into the sides of those things.. Me, if I'm not in anything but a >90% chance of a kill I will break off extend gain alt and look down into those mountains.. If I can't get a kill O well I will live, but the mountain flier might be a crater or make it home.
  7. I feel the same way as blaze, I'd love to fly the Flanker but the cockpit just makes me want to hurl my lunch. Other then the lack of english the Metric system [while I can use it, I do have a degree in ME] I cannot convert it fast enough to use it effectively. The other thing is the baby blue it might as well be sh** green/brown it just has no Appeal to me..
  8. Well, then I have no real options for you that you're going to like.. I can clearly see in your track that your joystick is constantly moving. But to clarify something, I too also had no issue with AP in the A10 with out any dead zones but the f15 will not work for me with out a dead zone. While I use a TM warthog it only requires a dead zone of 3 for mine to work. So to sum up and you're not going to like what I'm going to tell you; either A. Deal with out using AP, B. buy a new joystick or C. find some way to eliminate output at dead center of the joy stick.
  9. watching your track your att hold was not on either.. Well it was on but was "temp off" due to the stick allways putting in commands. alt hold is shutting completly off due to the 5* pitch limit Btw I hardly ever use alt hold. I just trim it best I can. You should be fine with just the ATT hold
  10. So I just watched your Track file and what I suspected is the case.. DCS is registering movement in the stick and with the f15c it temporary disables AutoPilot when it registers stick movement. Once you go past X amount of degree from Straight and level it will shut down completely. Alt hold will shut down completely first then att hold next. I know this is the case by pressing Right Ctrl + enter to bring up control diagrams. Watching the stick ball it is constantly fidgeting thus the causing AP to not engage. Resolve to this is adding a a deadzone to both Pitch and roll axis to where it no longer fidgets. Keep in mind though I will admit, altitude hold in the f15 is a joke. It truly does not like to hold altitude. you have to get it trimmed out PERFECTLY for it to work long term.
  11. I have not looked at your track yet, how ever I'm willing to bet you have no dead zone setup in your axis profile. If dcs detects any stick movement it will shut down autopilot. Place a deadzone in both pitch/roll axis and see if this resolves your issue
  12. So according to everyone pro RU planes launched chaff should make me imune to ER's ohh figured I'd give it a go.. NOPE not imune and I as //RAGE said exploited chaff by dropping a whole crap load and behold I still got smacked and I even put in a slight maneuver. Sorry but I'm not sold on the ER being worthless.
  13. Don't apologize, nothing wrong with what you're doing. Just some stuff is hard to understand and it's not your fault.
  14. Nothing against Ragnarok, but I can only understand about 10% of what he is saying.. Rag, are you typing in a translating program or are you actually typing your self? My guess is a translator.
  15. Yes it does slow down, how ever it is designed to reflect the most amount of radar energy back to the host. So yes it may not look like a plane but it also prevents the real return from being as bright. It's kindof like trying to look at an object through a flame. You know its there you can see it, but it's distorted.
  16. What you're failing to realize is that the chaff is still being illuminated. just because the targeted craft has maneuvered if the host platform does not change it's aspect angle along with the missile then there has been no change in how the chaff is being illuminated. Think of it in these terms, a plane flys into a cloud and then turns to put the cloud in between you and him. You have to change the angle of relation to you and the plane to be able to see it. Given the amount of distance that has to be done is much longer/further then the missile is capable of traveling to achieve a hit.
  17. I see what you're getting at Frostie. The issue is that you're on the same side most of us are on. Thinking that why wouldn't some one want the clickable cockpit.. Well what I can tell you is this; I have tried several times to get friends whom I game with to get into DCS they will not touch the a10c with a 10ft stick. They as are 90+% of all gamers NOT INTRESTED in learning/memorizing all the systems in a study level sim. Spending hundreds of hours learning systems, buttons, setting up a HOTAS, etc etc is not in the deck of cards for the majority of those who game. Simmers represent less then 1% of all gamers. Flaming Cliffs level aircraft is alot easier and even then it is still above the vast majority of gamers. This is simply due to the fact that it also requires skills not present in today's BoxStore games. So with that, those who are willing to learn the systems shouldn't they be rewarded with playing against those who care about being Simicly correct vs having to play against those who only care about pressing a few buttons and SPAMMING THE SKYS WITH AMRAMS OR ETs? but yes you're right adding a Study level aircraft to the mix wont change the basic level of tactics. but it will cause a rift when some yahoo that was shot down by a study level sim piloting an f15c and that guy is back in the air in 60 seconds spamming 8 amrams, rinse repeat. Take for example some lone fc3 driver gets into the Hawgs A/o and gets an aim9 in the face. Then that fc3 driver in just a few minutes is back in the air and in short order is back in the Hawgs A/o and clubs the hawg. That hawg driver has every right to be pissed because he earned the right to be there when the fc3 driver just pressed a few buttons and bam right back in the air vs the hawg that had to go through full systems start up etc etc. Maybe it's me but personaly when im in the eagle I don't go looking for Study level aircraft, if I do come across them I may shoot one or 2 but I wont stick around. Maybe it's just a code of honor not sure. How ever if I ever get a Study level f15 or f18 it will be fair game to me to club down some hawgs and stay in the area.
  18. Woo, gotta love the fact mr Pepin here gives me Negative rep with the statement "He ask for real evidence and he bring nothing to the table" Pepin I have NEWS FOR YOU! what I said was STRAIGHT FROM AN ACTUAL F15c Pilot. You can ask SDschorch, Sinus, SWEEP that can CONFIRM to you that I am not talking out of my ARSE. BTW what about the Picture I posted of my TEXT message conversation with him! You've been repeated told by many people on this forum to bring documented evidance to support your claims yet you don't. I bring to you the words of a person who has actualy flown this plane in real life! .
  19. Yes this is a known issue.. what you need to do each time you die is to switch plane slots and your nav will work. It's a bit of a pain in the rear but it is manageable. By the way, the grass over taxiways etc is reflecting on what it is like in real life.. Russia doesn't spend the money in terms of upkeep compared to the western world.
  20. Well, I agree with most of what you say[can this truly be that we are on the same page for once?] How ever I don't think of DCS as a SIM when we are talking about FC3 and Multiplayer.. The reason for this is simple it doesn't take 15 minutes to get up into the air. I can spawn in to an f15 and or su27 and be airborne with full arms in as little as 60 seconds. or less if the server pre-arms the aircraft. Flaming cliffs is a game with sim added in as a bonus. While I for one would rather fly a full system f15c but when you look at the whole picture in terms of potential sales for ED, the "gamey" flaming cliffs sells more then a full system that has a STEEP learning curve. Given that, the unrealistic tactics will always be there no matter since truly this is a game over it being a simulator. As I parenthesized I agree with you that there are things that are absurd. how ever I just am looking at the much larger picture that the few of us who want more realism will unfortunately hurt over all sales and most likely wont get it. I'd be all up for getting full study f15c's and su27s then breaking fc3 off into its own relms leaving the study aircraft [a10c,f15c,su27,mig21,m2k,ect] to fight each other.
  21. I can tell you it's spammed.. but when I get a chance to talk to my SME, I will ask him for certain. I just bugged him few days ago about something else so I don't want to "SPAM" him about chaff spamming!
  22. Not sure why you think the sparrow does not like high alpha targets. In my opinion if the motor is still burning it loves maneuvering targets a lot more then the slammer does. The only reason I take more aim120s is because of the smoke trail the sparrow leaves that well and of couse it being a sahrm.
  23. Not trying to get into a "pissing" contest with you. How ever how can you say that "spamming" chaff/flare is an exploit? Even if the CM rejection is altered do you think "gamers" are going to care. a Vast majority of people only care about the kill even if it results in a death them self. So they are still going to push just to get the kill. In my opinion this isn't an exploit it's just a lack thereof in the game. Exploits in this game would be the screenshot, or alt/tab exploits. Or missile file changes. Spamming chaff/flare does not qualify.
  24. I think your yaw issue is more the fact your rudder pedals are overly sensitive. Try using slight toe brake pressure to correct your centering.
  25. Yes this is true. and ACCORDING TO MY SME any high alpha or high G manuvering you would DROP the tanks before hand. Second up high in RL and in this SIM you cannot pull 9G's there is not enough air density to allow this. So to that in the upper 40s you're not going to be able to pull enough G's to damage the airframe. The only time you're going to generate enough Speed and G's with 3tanks would be during a dive and you're in the 25,000ft range or less! Roll rate is not a concern with the f15 as GG stated. With CAS you're limited to around half what the bird truly is capable of and adding wing tanks will still not deduct enough off roll rate to be below the CAS limit! I suggest either A. you start bringing to bare documented evidence by an accredited publication or B. you stop posting in this forum cause you're just going NO WHERE with anything you type!
