The only way to resolve that is to change your aspect angle in relation to the targets to allow separation to be able to lock them.. So if you're flying head on to them then you should crank until they start to separate, if they are turning in with you then it might be wise to flee at that point because well if you can only launch on one that leaves the others free to do what ever they please. you possible could launch or hard lock one and hope it spooks them to start breaking apart enough to then be able to hard lock them all.. also it is possible if they are close enough togther if you get a good hit on one it could knock all out but this is like winning the lotto very unlikely.

Yes I did just re-read what he said. Did not realise that part of what he was saying was in reply to vapor clouds.. How ever his theory on carb ice being linked to evaporation is only a "minor" part of carb ice. as I stated the primary cause is due to a drop in pressure and a velocity increase.

Join the 104th TS. if you see me on hit me up. Sweep knows his stuff but he's a punk kid so except his attention span to disipate 10s after you start.. :P

Ok, I can't answer your question for a 100% certainty.. How ever.. A member on this forum asked me to ask my SME contact [an actual eagle driver] in regards if when the landing gear was extended if he would be able to know[feel] it.. My SME's response to this was that you would not know the gear was down by feel or notice any type of speed/throttle response. How ever he said you could most defiantly know it was down due to fuel burn rates. He went to say that the engines in the Eagle are so powerful it's just impressive. He went on to state that the 8ftx3ft board[airbrake] does not work. that the engines were powerful enough that they would just push that board down and the hydralic system could not raise it while under power[keep in mind the engines didn't push them down it, it is due to air flow due to the engines still accelerating the plane]. So for the most part your question in regards to trim. Well this is me stating what I think is happening.. You gear is not causing a weight imbalance thus it should not err will not affect roll.. The gear is more center line then thus it would affect yaw slightly but nothing the cas should not be able to compensate for. Thus you for the most part should only see the gear down in a fuel burn.

actually you're wrong about this.. First things first, condensing water is not due to pressure increase. If you have ever filled a HPA tank i.e. an SCBA, SUCBA, Paintball tank you will notice that it actually increases in temperature. The reason for the temp drop is due to a decrease in fluid pressure causing the temp to drop. This is part of the venturi affect. I think you're confusing pressure increase with velocity increase. as far ambient temp you will notice carb ice mostly in the 60-70*F range

anyone want to get in on an "office pool" that piepen or what ever his name is, will ultimately still try and say the eagle at 47k with full load and 3 bags can't happen?

this has always shut down the radar since as long as I can remember.. How ever once you're in nav mode you can turn the radar back on. I would not be surprised if this is true on the real jet.. the Radar on the jet can cause issues with ground based radar and cause injury to personnel/civilians. This would just be a safety issue as nav mode should be selected when landing at all times and if you forget the radar is on switching to nav turns it off.

More proof for our friend that thinks the eagle can't do anything. I just realized he hinted that the f15 could do it with out even being in Afterburn. So it would be wise for you to just go hide back in the Russian corner cause the boogyman f15 at 47,000ft had it's eye on you! :P
-
just to clearify for our troll friend what SME stands.. It means SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT.. I.e. a real life F15 eagle pilot. One that flew the EXACT model that is in this game in the same TIMEFRAME that ED has it currently Modeled.

What are you? Troll or goblin? I'm sorry but you're just plain wrong. I have confirmed with an actual Eagle driver [this means HE FLEW the f15 in real life in combat during Desert Storm] That an eagle with three bags[mind you those three bags would not be full] and a full weapons load can reach and sustain 47,000ft with out any issue. Hell he even said when He was farrying from hawii to Japan with three bags full weapons and everything being full[both internal and external] being toed by a tanker at 33-37,000ft out of burners it was fine. To top this off. He also said in training he used to do a intercept profile for a fast moving target like the sr71 they would zoom climb with full weapons to 75,000ft! mind you this was not a streak eagle climb profile resulting in 75,000ft being the apex. YOU NEED TO STOP TRYING TO ARGUE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG AS THERE IS NOT!

With anything each missile has it's usefulness. First let me address your ET issue.. The reason they are not flare resistant is because you're most likely hotter then the flare and by that I mean you're either in Full ab or you're in full throttle. The ET's will almost always go for a flare if you're at idle. So if you know you've got an ET on the way chop throttle, toss flares and a slight course correction. Second; use of the aim7. I can tell you this the aim 7 is a wonderfull missile if you know how to use it.. The aim7 is not a LONG range missile. HOW EVER! it can be. It loves high altitude high speed launches and Im talking 40,000ft or higher M1.4 or greater. I've gotten many Multiplayer kills using the aim7 at around 15nm. The issue though is needing to support that missile. and when you're at 40+k ft and your foe is down on the deck you have to NOSE over to keep lock. and decend with the aim7. If there is any foe in close proximity you're screwed as you will be in the cons in no time and well that means everyone can visualy pick you up. With that being said. The best time to use an aim7 is more for close less then 5nm and against a high alpha maneuvering target. the aim7 seems to be able to TURN extremely well while burning. Keep in mind that the aim7 has a little bit more reach then the aim9 in lower altitudes but is not as quick off the rail. Best of luck.

Sweeps is about correct.. I'd say 15nm against a newer pilot. how ever if someone knows what they are doing and they know you're high and fast they are not going to just sit there letting the aim120 keep its speed until pitbull.. So in retrospect high alt launches against a vet should be no more then 11nm maybe 12 for a better chance of scoring a hit. If you're high and you see a target start to crank at 15nm you should not fire as he is prepared for your shot. [all though if you have access aim120s on board feel free to launch one at 15nm to force a good defensive maneuver and shoot the second at 11nm or closer.]

F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
pr1malr8ge replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Nope, my AP list has 6 options i also have the .dll.lua ["d389pnilunilcdnilvdnilvpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN26", }, }, ["name"] = "Autopilot - Altitude Hold", ["d62pnilunilcdnilvdnilvpnilvunil"] = { ["added"] = { [1] = { ["key"] = "JOY_BTN15", }, }, ["name"] = "Autopilot - Attitude Hold", }, there is the possibility that maybe your german version was messed up and it was not included in the build? -

During upgrade from 1.2xx to 1.5 I never had to redo my controls. Ill check this when I get home tonight -
F-15 - mapping autopilot to joystick not working
pr1malr8ge replied to Sile's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Ok so here is how I have my AP setup which is the same as how you want yours to be Ap att hold is joy 15 which in the config says it's autopilot disengage I can tell you it does turn it on. joy btn 26 is alt hold found in c:\users\xxx\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\F-15C\joystick\Throttle -HOTAS WARTHOS {ffaskjldhasdlaksjjdjhasdlaksdjh????}.lua {combos = {{key = "JOY_BTN26"}, }, down = iCommandPlaneStabHorizon, name = "Autopilot - Transition To Level Flight Control", category = "Autopilot"}, {combos = {{key = "JOY_BTN15"}, }, down = iCommandPlaneStabCancel, name = "Autopilot Disengage", category = "Autopilot"},if it still does not work for you after that, then you might have an issue with your joystick needing a deadzone in the pitch and roll axis -
you cannot compare two aircraft's climb profile like that.. you have to match gross weight to do a comparison. It's the same thing as those RU fly boys who whine that the eagle is out turning their bloated Su27.. Run the same test with the eagle at the same gross weight as the m2k and see how it does..

canopy should not unlatch, aerodynamic forces would keep it pressed down. most likely you would loose the horizontal stabilizers also called elevators first due to them having the least amount of connecting material and the most amount of movement.
-
if this were the case then missiles would also be limited to m2.606

Supporting wingman's SARH ?
pr1malr8ge replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Think im getting to see why you think this might be a viable option. How ever Can I toss a wrench in your theory with out you thinking im trying to just solely side with Tharos? So as I see you're thinking buddy guiding is being used as a "backup" should the launching platform either needs to break lock or has an issue with it's radar.. While as GG said it is possible to buddy guide, it how ever being used as a full on tactic is horrible. Using it as a when all else fails then it is sound. How ever the issue though is that unless both aircraft are roughly on the same radial to the target you're going to have missile guidance issues. There is the possibility the missile could be completely blind to the radar return from the buddy aircraft trying to guide. In my opinion this tactic would reduce the PK value of the missile 10fold.. Still better then 0% if the launching aircraft cannot keep lock. -
it's because someone decided to just put 2.606 as the max number it can achieve.

Supporting wingman's SARH ?
pr1malr8ge replied to Dirty Rotten Flieger's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Someone mentioned the aim120[?] and being able to be buddy guided.. I know that there was implimentation and programming in the F22 that would allow it to DL with a b1 lancer that could act as a launching platform for the aim120[x].. I thought I read somewhere that they also tested this. I think this was done to allow the f22 to be More effective in lower numbers. Since 1 b1 lancer could carry 20+ aim120s. leaving 2 f22s to search and guide and still have missiles on board for "close" proximity protection -
OP/Post date just seen. Think It's best to remove what I just typed

6,000lbs and you went to 85% rpm for 150nm? Where you flying at 2ft off the ground? I can do that trip mostly in full AB and still have enough reserve for a go around.
-
no he is not.. Mach speeds to relative air speed is higher as you go higher.. if you can't reach m2.5 at 50k ft that means you tried to hard to get up to that height. Once you hit 50k m2.5 it will top out at 2.50X push over to .8g and decend you can hit over m2.6
