Looking for possible Radar cone. Trying to figure out if someone is "cheating" Had someone last night in an f15 that I could not see on radar pull a 180* turn while diving at 5,000ft and sub 10miles. He then pulled up and simultaneously fired at me [i was at 50,000ft and directly above him at that point]. Trying to figure out if in vert scan at that close of range can pickup the altitude gap. I can tell by how he reacted he knew exactly where I was before he turned 180* and fired on me. [confirmed via tacview] I attached a crude jpg of what I think the radar cones should look like. When he killed me, he told me that I flew past him and he saw me. In the tacview that never happened at least not till after his first missile missed. >- -<

Not sure whats wrong with the game's version.. How ever I know that "borrowed" mig21s being tested in the 80s against f15s had some unexpected results. In that the radar from the f15 would virtually over saturate each Sensor of the mig21's Rwr that it could not detect where the source was coming from and would show every direction. According to my cousin that when he was intercepting defecting Mig21s from North Korea that just hitting them with the radar they would about face and run back immediately and this was ~35-40nm.

they got my radar sweep. No warning from missile going active.

No launch in HOJ mode. Everything I shot was against a non jamming targets.

AIM-9 CAGE / SEAM target acquisition modes modeled ?
pr1malr8ge replied to Top Jockey's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
You can also slew the aim9 seakerhead once uncaged with the slew joystick on the throttle. -
Ok, I've had three people tell me they were hit by my aim120s and never got a missile lock warning.. [obviously cannot tell before 1.5.1 since kills were not recorded]. Currently un-installing 1.5.1 and will reinstall to see if the issue is corrected. Anyone else been getting excuse my language Bitched at about this??? While I think it's awesome Silent Killer I suppose but in all fairness it's not what I want in terms of kills..

New member (ex-LOMAC), has FC 3 doubts.
pr1malr8ge replied to Top Jockey's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
Top, I know I'm going to sound rude so I apologize in advance.. Just BUY FC3 already!, it seems you're already setup to play Flight sims the money for FC3 isn't going to bust your bank. You get all the FC3 planes and when the Mig29 pfm update is released well, you'll be able to play it as soon as you download teh update. -
Any update on a resolve for the replay issues?

Best advice, Learn the radar system before going into Multiplayer.. Once you're ready for Multiplayer. Don't go charging in. Make the enemy come to you. Survive. Once you start learning what works and what doesn't will let you start pushing and getting more kills.

you turn off NWS when the rudders have enough authority to correct movement.. Not sure what speed that would be in the f15

Quote from Retired Eagle Driver. This was asked more in tune of the airbrake but landing gear was mentioned "The air brake is a giant 8ft board. It slows the jet down considerable and we always used it during landing. How ever the engines in the Eagle are so powerful that in the upper rpms it would just push the board down negating it's affect. With the gear down you wont nessasirly feel it but you would see it in the fuel burn." I asked my Cousin an ex F15 pilot for a Member on the forums about feeling the landing gear and when if or how often he used the airbrake during landing. As far as your pertaining question. the gear does slow the jet down. How ever currently there is no damage model when deployed above 350kts.

New pilot help with audio cues and more.
pr1malr8ge replied to MaxMunsta's topic in F-15C for DCS World
Just to be clear. Flying high has its advantages and it has its downfalls.. If you want to fly high just be aware that everything happens quickly and you can't turn on a dime. If you're not proficient with the radar it is in your BEST interest not to fly high. -
We need a new bomb in DCS since we can't have the Kitchen sink we should get this since it was actually used in Vietnam in 1965
-
Well, you can't expect anyone to actually do this for you with out you posting the track file m8. Best of luck

I have the same peddles that you do.. While I do get a drop in FPS when using them and the same positive FPS once at full deflection. My issue is no where near that of what you're experiencing.

Russian missiles - usage, bug, problems, advantages
pr1malr8ge replied to tovivan's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Yes close formation should be a larger RCS, but at the same time making it hard if not impossible to distinguish multiple contacts. I.e. it looks just like one contact. Correct me if I'm wrong and I'm just thinking.. That if flying in close formation that upon being launched on that if both[multiple what ever] break opposite directions and chaff at the same. The missile should go for the chaff since it should be presenting a much larger RCS then the two planes after the break? -
[REPORTED]Tires still blowing out in 1.5 (possible old bug?)
pr1malr8ge replied to OnlyforDCS's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
No, still not wheel brake axis able to be assigned to rudder pedals. -

At the current moment I cannot get any replay to work for me. If I go more then 1x the jet will always run in the grass. If I go normal speed some times my plane can get on the run way but either drifts off before lift off. If it gets into the air it continues to pitch up until stall and then pile drives into the ground.

Su27 - A complete guide to combat employment and tactics
pr1malr8ge replied to Santi871's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
you know I think it's probably not the place here to argue.. I don't want to do this. Mainly because Santi's write up is damn good for a begining and for working as a lone wolf. There are pros and cons to this. I don't think everything you're trying to argue santi as sound but you have some validation to it. -
Su27 - A complete guide to combat employment and tactics
pr1malr8ge replied to Santi871's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
While I agree the f15 isn't exactly the best on mountain flying and VSM is virtually worthless and the sidewinders aren't the best. How ever please do not say the only reason we get sparrow kills is because someone does not know how to use the su27.. I can tell you right now with certainty that I have K.O. several good su27 pilots that were in mountains with the Sparrow. There are situations that with the f15 that using a sparrow is much better then anything else being carried. I can tell you this, that If I spot you and I am where I want to be and you are pre-ocupied or just not prepared you're not going to get out of it. Ask Winchester this. I have sent him into the ground with aim7s on a few occasions. Ohh and yeah nothing is more funny then getting an aim7 kill while in flood mode.. It's the ultimate troll. On a side note with flying in the mountains. If we had [the f15] SS mode it would be much much more closer of a playing field then what it is now. So much so that I wouldn't be hesitent following you guys in. Rather then let you play in the mountains while I extend gain altitude for a look down search. -

I'm not a fan of the SU27 in game which hey nothing wrong with it and I don't discredit it nor its fans/pilots[accept 2 but pft not worth me time]. But the reason I am posting on this is simply now to say HOLY MOTHER OF GOD someone should give DarkFire some accolades dude has some very impressive skills on presenting data. Good Job Sir. Now please don't limit your ability of number crunching and presentations to just the RU birds! Any rate good job Sir!
