  1. Honestly been so sick and tired of these problems, I just rolled back to DCS 2.9.5.55918 and have not spent a single minute troubleshooting anything since. I only get so many few hours a week that I get the luxury to sit down and play. Throw this at me in my 20's and I would have been all about the workarounds. But I'm a bitter old man now who just wants some peace and quiet.
  2. Still using a MAD CATZ RAT 7 mouse with no software support for windows 10 because its old. So I have no way to change the mouse Hz polyrate. ED, its 2024, should be an easy fix on your end that still hasn't happened yet. Because I would really like to keep using my mouse from 2010
  3. I think I will go this route and go ahead and get those RipJaws on order. Thank you guys very much! F4-3200C16Q-64GVK ordered!
  4. Yeah, I don't see any mention of 2x32GB kits. I don't know guys, what do you think? I could roll the dice and grab that 2x32GB kit from Amazon and give it a spin. Worst case it doesn't work and I simply return them right?
  5. Strange, I would think that since a maximum of 128 GB is now supported, that would constitute that that a single DIMM can support up to 32GB now and 2x32GB kits should be on the QVL list.
  6. So after the BIOS update and being able to support a total of 128GB RAM, am I still not able to go with the F4-3200C16D-64GTZR 2x32GB kit?
  7. Phew, that was stressful lol. I guess because I went from BIOS 1401 all the way to 2701 there were several reboots with black screens reading "Updating ME" and "Updating BIOS" so as to incrementally update itself one revision at a time but eventually PC came back up just fine, plugged in HOTAS, ran DCS and all is well. So now I should be able to grab the 2x32 GB kit Trident Z F4-3200C16D-64GTZR correct?
  8. Thanks a lot gentlemen. Will run the update now.
  9. I dont see where BIOS 2701 Supports 128GB, can you guys point me to that info? Ah ok, so is it fair to say that 2701 also includes this change?
  10. Ok, I am going to go ahead and run the BIOS update and will report back. Then I think I should be able to go with the Trident Z F4-3200C16D-64GTZR
  11. Thanks a ton for the info! I would love to go with the Trident Z F4-3200C16D-64GTZR but my mobo is the ASUS ROG Maximus X Formula and all QVL kits are 4x16GB configuration. I think that means that a single DIMM slot on my mobo only allows 16GB of RAM and no more. I also don't see the Z370 chipset on the QVL list of that RAM kit either. I think the biggest concern is that all 64GB RAM configurations in the QVL list of my mobo come in 4x16GB setup. Would it theoretically be ok to try them anyway as in a "this should work" or no? If not, the closest I can find that is available on Amazon is F4-2400C15Q-64GTZRX https://www.gskill.com/product/165/166/1536548425/F4-2400C15Q-64GTZR but that bumps be down from 3200 to 2400MHz. Would this pose any performance degradation?
  12. Hi Folks, I am no RAM expert. Currently still running my 8700k/3070 Ti/32GB RAM setup and given how DCS has been plagued with some performance issues as of recent, I have toyed with the idea of throwing in another 2x16GB pair of RAM sicks to fill up all 4 slots. I am currently using a pair of 2x16GB F4-3200C15D-32GTZR G.Skill sticks with timings of 15-15-15-35. I cannot find this exact model anymore. The closest I can find that is available to purchase is the F4-3600C18D-32GTZR with 18-22-22-42 timings. Basically I would be mixing a pair of CL15 RAM with a pair of CL18 RAM. Is there any possible way to make these 2 pairs play well together?
  13. Thanks for this. I have been pulling my hair out trying to revert back to 2.9.5.55918. The latest update has ruined the whole experience for me. Its mostly unplayable. However I am also unable to revert back to 2.9.5.55918 as I get an "HTTP 403 Forbidden" error.
  14. Several performance issues after the latest update: 1. FPS is generally very good, but randomly will completely tank anywhere from low 50s to around 8fps. Alt-Tabbing out of DCS and back in seems to help most times but generally when these random drops happen, DCS is unplayable. 2. Any mouse movement causes intense stutter while the mouse is moving.
  15. Apologies for going off topic but is there an easy way to revert back to 2.7 without having to do a full blown uninstall/re-install? 2.8.1 with it's terrain shadows fps drain is currently unacceptable.
  16. Been having an absolute blast last few months with stable build 2.7 falling in love with the WWII birds while running at 3240x1920 at stable 60 fps @ 60Hz with mostly all maxed detail settings. I was very disappointed to get updated to 2.8.1 and see a solid and almost consistent 10 fps drop from where I was with absolutely no visual improvement to account for it. Granted I don't have a super high end system, 2.7 ran great. Both 2.7 and 2.8.1 run at the same fps with all terrain shadows turned off in 2.8.1 while 2.7 was set at default. Turning on flat shadows craters my fps in 2.8.1 ED, all of my respects to you and the phenomenal work you do. But please keep unstable and unoptimized implementations in the experimental branch until they have been thoroughly tested and proved fully functional to be promoted to the stable build. These are basic product development practices.
  17. I just received my new MCG Ultimate grip. I have the orange box. And my existing Joystick is the Gunfighter Mk.II. Do I need to flash to the latest firmware that has "_BlackBox_" and "MCG Pro Ultimate" in the firmware file name for it to work?
  18. Yes this always works and brings back the image sharpness. But its a workaround rather than a solution. I'm curious to know what changes latest Windows Feature Release made to break this. Nothing notable appears in Microsoft's Release Notes.
  19. I have the exact same issue as of Windows 10 Feature Update 1909
  20. Ideally I would like to overclock with the Vcore and max frequency only throttling to maximum when there is a load. I'm not a fan of pushing absolute overclock values even when there is no load. I remember back in the day when I overclocked my 3770k I had to use something called "offset" overclocking to achieve that.
  21. I do run XMP but I only see all CPU cores max out at 4.3. Why would this be? Should I not be hitting 4.7 ?
  22. Is there an easy fool proof set of settings for a slight OC that are almost guaranteed to work for me to start with?
  23. Is there a one popular go to guide that typically everyone uses to get started? I found this: EDIT: I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable after watching that video. It seems simple enough. I think maybe if I start small and simple with a 4.8GHz OC at 1.30vcore and run that for a few weeks could be a good way to start.
