  1. Hey all, short and sweet. Well, not that sweet but the short part still applies. I've been flying the Ka-50 lately with a new X-65F and the trimmer seems to be functioning oddly. I used an X-52 before this, and whenever I activated the trimmer with that the trimmer would immediately set wherever the stick was as the position for the stick, etc etc etc. Now with this stick, I go to release the trimmer and its almost like there are only a few set values that the trimmer can be at in the x-axis, the y and twist axis seem to work fine. For example, when I finish a turn I return the stick to what would be the center position using the RCtrl+enter thing in the corner, and upon releasing the trimmer the stick immediately jumps a little bit to the left. If I release the trimmer a little bit right of the center, it will return roughly to the center position. The problem is that the stick isn't staying where I released the trimmer. Any help with this? Could it possibly have to do with the deadzones on my stick that i set up, in order to mask the stick not being centered from the start?
  2. Because people like you will keep making these same stupid threads over and over again if he doesn't
  3. An obvious reason to me is something like the fact that it's a ground attack plane, therefore you don't exactly need the same off-bore sight capacity as, say, an F-16 would. If you've locked the target in the TGP, you're either going to have to fly directly over it anyway for bombs or you can already instantly aim a maverick at the target with a press of the button. From what I can see, there's no need in the 'hog.
  4. I fail to see what being a Jap has to do with not approving of the limited combat potential of the Huey.
  5. That's due to parts commonality with the B Huey. I asked this same question when the module first came out, the 40mm is available on the H Huey panel because they can use the same panel as on the B Huey. There's something to do with the size of the H Huey that prevents the 40mm grenade launcher from being mounted if I remember correctly. Pointless edit: oooo lawdy 100th post
  6. Greetings everyone. I'm sure many of you know that in the past ~5 years the US and multiple other air forces in the world have been equipping their pilots with Helmet Mounted Displays which allow them to see their HUD and I believe a few other things while looking away from the HUD itself. This has already been implemented in Falcon BMS, and it's a really cool feature. I'd like to know if we're getting one any time soon? Maybe not for the A-10 for obvious reasons but perhaps the in the F-15, or maybe the F-18 will have that upon its release?
  7. I'm not sure, like I said it was a Christmas gift
  8. Thanks for all the help guys, I kind of jury rigged it back on by using Last Glue and it seems to be holding up greatly. I'll remember this though just in case it breaks again.
  9. Looked at it, it looks like it does too much damage to the area around the screw. I want this to be reuseable. Plus it looks like it goes too far in, dont forget we've got electronics here
  10. So I got an X-65 as a gift recently (by the way, happy holidays to all you folks :D) and after only about a day of using it, I went to transport it to another location in a large enough bag and when I removed it I discovered the top right hat switch broke off, as seen in picture. Turns out that screw that held it in snapped off completely so I'm stuck with half a screw inside my stick. Is there any way I can get that out? I'll be able to put the hat back on quite easily once it is but at the moment its impossible with the half-screw in
  11. Don't the British versions not have the Longbow radar as well? If I remember correctly they were closer to the A-variant than the D-variant
  12. True, but I'd much rather prefer 12 mavs and whatever else I need to take over loading as lightly as possible. As I fight and use up munitions I'll lose that weight. Maybe its just the fact that this is a sim after all, not the real thing, I dunno.
  13. According to Wikipedia, Mavs are 17 to 110 thousand, depending on the variant. A JDAM for example is 25 thousand dollars. Besides, cost hasn't usually been an issue for US forces,(don't start a flame war over that) wouldn't it be nice to have that extra capability? It'd mean you'd be able to kill that many more enemy tanks before needing to return to base and rearm.
  14. Greetings, simple question here. In the A-10C why did they design the jet so it can only carry the Mavs on two stations? In my opinion they are the most effective anti-tank weapon on the Hog, so why not allow them to be placed on more hardpoints? Even if its just two more, thats 12 mavericks, you know what I can do with 12 mavericks? :D It just doesn't make sense to me.
  15. If you have the brainpower to actually follow along with what is going on in the tutorials you'll find that it's quite easy to learn what to do. Is this your first time in a flight sim? This is a dedicated community, there are people out there who DEDICATE themselves toward a hobby they like, its like car hobbyists or whatever they wish to call themselves except in our case it's for military aircraft. And since we can't just go out and purchase an A-10, our best bet is to use the same simulator that our government uses to train some pilots on this jet. I don't know what you were expecting exactly when you bought this, please enlighten me.
  16. Yes the title deserves to be in all caps I felt like something was wrong with the MiG-29 quickstart mission, so I opened it up in the editor. Sure enough, I noticed there were a few groups that were not spawning for god knows what reason. So after a few trial runs and a bit of frustration as to why I couldn't get it to work, I got it! There are now two more groups of enemies that spawn once you kill the previous group like in the other quickstart missions Hopefully someone in ED will pick up on this and include it in the next patch :D So, without further ado, I present you: The fixed version of the MiG-29 quickstart mission! Just overwrite the MiG-29 CAP mission in the dcs world/mods/aircraft/flaming cliffs/missions/en/quickstart folder! (Be sure to back up in case something goes wrong! Although that's unlikely) MiG-29 CAP.miz
  17. I get a similar issue sometimes, the rudder seems to move itself to the left or right... It only happens in the Mi-8 so it's not an issue with the stick. And also it seems to disable keyboard rudder inputs which I would use to "trim" out the problem, which is extra odd.
  18. Firing multiple flares you mean? I'm lost
  19. Do you have 1.2.7? That seems to be a bug in one of the instant action missions. It works just fine in the previous version. If you don't, then I really don't know what else could be causing this. For the ripple fire, you need to select rockets then next to the weapon select switch there's a dial with numbers 0-7 on it. Set that to the desired amount of rockets fired per trigger press and you're good to go.
  20. Yes, I can confirm that in 1.2.7 you can choose if you want door gunners just like you choose weapons in the payload screen, and if they use the M-60 or the M-134s.
  21. Hey, sh*t DOES happen :D
  22. Pilot hitbox and/or switch on pilot death not fixed? ;_;
  23. It worked! Many thanks :)
  24. How can I get this script without the constant updates for how many enemy units remain and stuff? I'm terribly inexperienced at scripting and want to implement it in one of my missions that spans over a huge range and doesn't have these set zones held by enemies
  25. I'm having a similar-ish condition, I'm trying to create a convoy escort mission similar to the Overwatch singleplayer A-10 mission but over a much farther distance and including other vehicles. So anyways, I'm trying to get the convoy to hold position outside a town, exactly like the Overwatch mission. I can get them to stop and I can get the radio trigger to come up, but when I activate it I can't get the convoy to start moving. Any help with this would be great. Mission is attached, and note it is still VERY MUCH work in progress: Edit: Not trying to steal your thunder here just think its better than creating a new thread for it 05 WATCHFUL EYES.miz
