  1. Really digging your idea, but I think before it can be done there needs to be a serious overhaul in infantry behavior. When they're in combat, if they're supposed to follow a waypoint and start getting shot at, the infantry doesn't engage and continues along the way to their waypoint (at least in my experiences.) this wouldn't go well with your idea unfortunately
  2. A 30 second teaser would be much appreciated :D JK JK Just a lot of dogfighting and general badassery. Maybe steal a mission from a previous FC3 campaign and convert everything to russian/mig-21 etc? (Third mission in F-15 campaign comes to mind, the AWACS attack one). Oh, and co-op with all the devs would be nice :D Edit: I'd also like to throw in even if you guys get your asses beat, as long as you go out in style I'd be happy :P

  4. Not necessarily. If you read the thread, you'd know that Cobra said there's still a very real possibility of a 1.2.8 release, but the team is currently committed to migrating to 1.3.0. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  5. Right, like I said I don't have the slightest doubt that the community will put out 100s of missions for this bird, easy. And while there may be a variety, their effectiveness is limited. We don't really have any serious anti-tank gear, so the MiG won't have much of a big role in some sort of heavy conventional conflict. Even if it's got a lot of different unguided weapons, if I remember correctly it's going to be terribly innacurate to use them on targets. I feel like the Hawk module is going to be running into this problem as well, maybe on an even larger scale.
  6. So, as the release of the Fishbed draws near, one issue remains prevalent in my head: There will probably be an unfortunate lack of variety in missions. Don't take me wrong, I've got full faith that the community will chug out a plethora of missions. But the thing is, I don't know if there's going to be much variety in them. Most of the hype seems to revolve around low level GCI and A-10 hunting at the moment. Other than that, there's not much availability. The variety in air to air missions doesn't go very far, as far as I can think, especially in an outdated fighter like this. (I'm really having difficulty trying to convey my point with this, sorry if it's confusing) Then there's ground pounding. I know she's no A-10, and that's really going to show. 4 hard points for weapons means that the Fishbed's options in AG are severely limited. Part of why the A-10 stayed popular and why there's such an abundance of missions for the Hog is because of the sheer number of weapons it can carry, how long it can stay in the air, and the variety of it's weapons. The Fishbed is nearly the complete opposite in my opinion. So, I'm wondering if anythings going to be done about this (if anything even can be done) or maybe if I might just straight up be wrong about this.

  12. I'd imagine it would be the same, that's what I've thought all this time. Although sometimes in dogfights the "AI" seems to be lacking the "I" part of the acronym. The current tactics they use sometimes make my head spin trying to figure out why they'd do some of the things they do in dogfights.
  13. Now, this might just be my headstrong American ego talking, but I don't think this is true. I'd like to see some proof on this. As far as I know, guided munitions were extremely effective during the Gulf War. Yes, I'm confident that many civilians were probably killed, but you that most of the bombs dropped killed civvies, not only a select few ones. Not to mention the fact that I'm relatively certain they had very precise accuracy.
  14. I personally would like to see a P-47, because dem 8 .50 cals and dat bomb load. And I'm not even a fan of A-G. But in my opinion, I don't think we're going to see one by Leatherneck. Seeing as they're a Hungarian(?) company, odds are these are the guys who will be spitting out most of DCS's flyable soviet airframes.

    Dammit Leatherneck you've had me in hype mode for the past week! It's not fairrrrrr :< I've been sorting things out to buy this the second it's released and I've got money burning a hole in my online wallet... I'll give you guys TWO high fives each if you release it tomorrow ;)

Let's hope this delay beyond the posted release date won't be much longer than previous delays :D I've always wondered why holding a second kickstarter or indiegogo isn't an option? Excuse me if it's not my place to ask, but I'm sure there are plenty of us out here who missed the first and would still love to get this :) See you guys in the sky!

  20. Hey, this got a lot more attention than I thought :D Lets cross our fingers that WAGS D: is listening. But then again they can't implement everything we ask for so I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't go through.
  21. I'm buying just about every DCS module that comes out, whether or not I'm going to use it, just because I'm sure these devs need all the money they can get. I try to be "that guy" :D
  22. This. The scaling feature in BMS is probably my second favorite part about that sim. It's a great help. And regarding the labels trick, I used to do that but eventually stopped because it made it a bit TOO easy to find targets, and you can see them through the cockpit or hills as well.
  23. Currently have Nvidia GeForce GT630M. Relatively low end as far as I know. It's low enough to make resolution have a hit at least.
  24. Increase spotting distance? So I have two conflicting issues with my DCS setup that I could use some help with. One, being how to increase the distance at which vehicles are able to be seen by the player. I know I can do this by increasing the resolution, but here's the other issue: I'm running on a very weak system here, so in order to save frames I'm running at 1024x768 instead of my full 1600x900. But like I said this decreases the distance I see units at. In this 1024 resolution it's hard to see units until I'm about a mile out, at full zoom. This is obviously a huge problem. Can I get some help here, or am I screwed?
