I have flown a mission called FOB Vetka numerous times and there has always been an abundance of visual tracer rounds coming from multiple AI BDRMs. In 1.5 I am seeing none from a distance from either friend or foe AAA and some slightly visible only when flying very close to them (while they are filling my hog with holes and causing me to say damn and hell). Has anyone else noticed a dramatic reduction in visible tracer rounds from AI AAA?

Is Crimson Dawn working? I'd like to give it a go sometime if it is.

The fact that 1.5 forces windowed mode has led to some issues. Check your control panel/Power options and make sure that "never" has been selected for TURN OFF DISPLAY and PUT THE COMPUTER TO SLEEP. It seems that in windowed mode Windows doesn't know that DCS is running so anything set up that will operate automatically may activate and cause trouble. That's trouble with a capital "T" if you know what I mean.

Be sure that depth of field is off.

Try placing the ogg files in the saved games/DCS openbeta folder.

I flew it today and although I didn't fly the entire mission being alone it seemed like everything was working.

I tried the Hawg flight in 1.5 and didn't get any tasking at the IP so I think it may need some tweaking to work in 1.5.

Howdy folks, If you want to try something awesome with the 1.5 beta click HERE for Ranger79's A-10C mission called OP Takeback. The Zip file contains the miz file as well as a dynamic weather lua file. With the dynamic weather installed you will see and hear the new rain effects of 1.5, but don't be discouraged about the weather. If you fly to the AO the skies will be clear. It's as realistic as it gets with this monkey business. I am thrilled that dynamic weather can now be used without tanking frame rates and look forward to using it often. I have also added some radio chatter and 1 KA-50 slot.

Most of the missions created before 1.5 are no longer functioning as designed in 1.5 and I doubt that the original creators will have any interest in going through the process of repairing them at this point. I think the time has finally come to throw all the old missions in the recycle bin and start over.

I am using the 1.2.16 version but am unable to extract the new version

I can remember flying a MP mission with one other person and we were seeing entirely different clouds in the same mission. I have no idea how or why it happened but although it's rare I know from experience that it can happen.

!! Important !!: After update or repair, don't forget to adjust your view distance or you will have a graphic glitch. For dummies like me can you give specific instructions as to how to do this?

Considering the problems folks have had in the past with updates and repairs I think it would be a great benefit to give specific instructions concerning how to return settings to default in the option/system file if needed. Here's a few screens of mine with extreme setting and one using my City Lights mod.

Try increasing the anisotropic filtering setting to see if that helps. Although I am NOT recommending using a mod in the beta as it would defeat the purpose of bug reporting, THIS mod will solve the issue.

Buy a cheap mouse with a scroll wheel and the wheel will zoom in and out. BTW, I have the same problem with my trackball and 1.5.

After passing 2 successful stress test programs on my video card with no issues I think I may have found the problem, at least I hope so. I had my Windows power options plan set to turn my display off after 3 mins. of idle time. I changed that to "never" and haven't had a black screen since. I think the reason this became an issue with 1.5 when it never was an issue before is that for some reason 1.5 runs in windowed mode by default even if full screen mode has been selected in the options menu, but that's just a theory as well. I remain cautiously optimistic and will test again tomorrow.

I agree, I used OC Guru to boost fan speed to 100% but no joy. Thanks for sharing the test. Changing drivers didn't help either so I'm thinking it's unique to the 1.5 beta for whatever reason. Maybe some future updates will solve the issue.:book:

I theorize that older video cards may not be able to handle the extra load put on them by EDGE and DX11 and may overheat as a result. If I knew that for sure the solution would be obvious but I remain cautiously optimistic that there may be another reason.
