1. Brakes!? Yeah... I'll keep looking. Perhaps it is something from the update. But I've never had that happen before. I have some brake but not enough pressure to stop the bird! I always go in and manually remove those weird assignments on a new module, I know what you mean. I'll keep trying to figure it out. I haven't really seen or heard to many people out here having a brake pressure issue on a need to stop on the grinder really. Probably on my end somewhere. :music_whistling:
2. Not enough Toe Brake pressure! I have tried to search here as to not throw in another idiot question, I have a warthog with MFG Crosswinds. With my Crosswinds I can take any other module here and it will stop even if I come in reasonably hard and fast. But with our FA18 here I seem to have tow brakes but hardly any pressure to stop! I looked in the Pre manual and all I can see is a mentioning of a sensor warning light that will indicate something about speed brake pressure. Is there a switch I need to activate in the cockpit to wind up with enough break pressure for a runway, cause I keep going and going until I hit dirt! I'm thinking it's me not being familiar with this FA18 and maybe I'm not doing something or maybe it's not quite ironed out in pre release form? I saw one person with his system with different gear than mine and he had no rudder action or brakes until the last update according to him. Anyone know anything about these toe brakes for this Hornet?:helpsmilie: Thanx Marc
3. Yeah I noticed that too. I use a HOTAS Warthog and I have a set of MFG Crosswinds for rudder and braking. I noticed it I am moving slow I can use the toe brakes, but if I am moving fast like from a landing or even on the darn carrier if I try to turn around, I have to press "S" on the keyboard to make the wheels turn sharp enough, but then my jet keeps moving and brakes don't work and off the side I go or on a land runway I keep going to far to the dirt! Brakes don't work well. So I wonder if it's something I'm missing or is it the Hornet Pre release symptom? All my other jets have mega brakes that stop my aircraft even if I come in a little hot.
4. Calling Da Ball! The Ball is simple. Run between 180 to 200 mph. About 150 ft above the water...bring it in. The ball in my cockpit lights up orange then it can spike a touch or red, but green is more of a threat. if it's green ya need to move faster and your probably descending more than we think when it lights up green. I'm looking forward to the AGM-65 Maverick with FLIR pod. AMRAM 120 slammers! Now I sure don't want to come across as Mr. Know it all, cause "I ain't"! But I think after all these years of Janes FA18 E , US Navy Fighters, Flanker, LOMAC, FC and now DCS... Now that we have something so much more to perfection and so well done, I don't think much has changed as f:joystick:ar as approaching the Carrier.
5. Brakes!? I can trap and approach the carrier pretty well. Flaps, Hook and drop gear. I also noticed in some real Hornet videos on you tube which modes those guys have their display units in. I can select a way point and in my display system I can see the angle I need to be to line up straight with the landing strip. But my problem is my darn wheel brakes! I then fold the wings and attempt to taxi to the air craft elevator and my jet won't stop rolling!!!:helpsmilie: "Right over the side! Splash! I have some MFG Crosswinds. I attempt to program it in settings. Can someone help me with this? I don't seem to have any brakes.
6. Years of waiting-finally here!! %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//s224.photobucket.com/user/DragonFlySlayer/media/Screen_180604_121636.png.html?filters%5Buser%5D=53501378&filters%5Brecent%5D=1&sort=1&o=2[/img] http://s224.photobucket.com/user/DragonFlySlayer/media/Screen_180605_124938.png.html?filters=53501378&filters[recent]=1&sort=1&o=1 %5Bimg%5Dhttp%3A//s224.photobucket.com/user/DragonFlySlayer/media/Screen_180605_125556_1.png.html[/img] http://s224.photobucket.com/user/DragonFlySlayer/media/Screen_180605_125639.png.html
7. I like Chuck's Guides! I actually removed a whole load of DCS modules just because ..mainly for space and it's also a brain overload for me. The FA18 is truly what I and many others really ever wanted. I go back wanting this since 1995 before DCS, Before Flaming Cliffs, LOMAC back when it was just Flanker 2.0. Back when ED replied back to me respectfully and explained that the information for an FA18 was Classified and they pointed out the fact that they were a Russian Development team a that. So, it took while. Man now look at what we have! Life is good! And I know they are not stopping at this point as well. https://forums.mudspike.com/t/chucks-first-impressions-of-the-dcs-f-a-18c-hornet/6151 Some of you probably seen this? It's Chuck's first impression of the FA18 as Wagner let him have an earlier access. I look forward to what ever Chuck puts out for us regarding this one!
8. Years of waiting-finally here!! I have waited for a Hornet of this quality for many years here. Since around 1995's US Navy Fighters. I enjoyed ED's Flanker 2.0! Man O man, now look at us!!! This is so cool! A great piece of work still in the making and what a masterpiece! ED did it again! Thank you! Marc
9. I seem to have a problem scrolling with the mouse wheel inside the Harrier Cockpit to view zoom in and out. Outside the aircraft I can zoom in close or further back, but inside the cockpit with my head tracker I can look all around fine, but cannot scroll forward or back away using the mouse wheel. In the TrackIRv5 upon opening I can scroll forward or back. Does anyone know or are familiar with this. Is it normal with the Harrier? Thanks Marc
10. Interesting.. I created this mission or situation in DCS world 2 being two F16 C's with Random skill level. The F16's take off and then I take off in my SU-33. Right when I get up off the runway my sensors will start singing! What I did was set up my HOTAS so once I activate my radar by pushing my keyboard, I then have all the other AA modes via HOTAS. Chaft/flares...etc.. After getting hit a few times I then set up my HOTAS right... And I was able to maneuver and dump flares and then switching to CAC in a second I then locked up one F16 and presto, he was done. The second F16 sounded my alarm but I again evaded and it became quiet. Funny thing was, after I attempted to lock him up, I noticed he diverted to that small civilian strip east of Vegas! I programmed 4 way points for all of us and he was supposed to land at Nellis. My idea was to have the last man standing or flying, land back at Nellis. My missile 1st attempt hit that F16 no problem. But I have much to learn though.
11. After the updater flaw with our window's fire walls and replacing my vcruntime140.dll file, ... and I did end up uninstalling and reinstalling DCS World 2,.. after reinstalling my modules I noticed my Mirage 2000 has these black patches like I purchased a bootleg or pirated version!? I attemted to reactivate my license in world 2 and it was active and I did so anyway. My Mirage doesn't do this in the other DCS worlds. Why in Nevada? It sure fly's well though. Just whats up with the black cover ups!? Is it a International thing and French in Nevada? Doesn't make sense. :noexpression:
12. FA18 TM HOTAS in the works ??? This was stated in that F18 presentation. Eagle Dynamics SA senior producer, Matt Wagner, states, “We are happy to announce the cooperation between Eagle Dynamics SA and Thrustmaster® to create the ultimate F/A-18C Hornet simulation experience”. “After the success of our first collaboration with Eagle Dynamic SA on DCS: A-10C Warthog, that lead to the HOTAS Warthog, we are proud to start a new collaboration on the DCS: F/A-18C Hornet”, says Gilles Raulet, Thrustmaster Development Director. Makes me wonder if my long wish for a FA/18 HOTAS is in the works from TM?! The Hornet is on display at the TM Booth. I bet their going to market a F18 system to make us all drop or A10 system? I would love one! DCS is getting exciting. Lately I chose that Mirage 2000C module. The C is a AA mainly with some AG. I wish we could have had a D version or a N version. It is said that N is the Mirage Nuke version. Now I'm not crazy about the Mirage in a sense but it fly's beautifully and it was done superb. There is talk of The Hornet-Super Carriers-Persian Gulf terrain. But my point here I noticed is this Thrustmaster wanting to get in on the experience of it all. Makes me wonder what their going to create to add to it much like they did DCS's A10.
13. I have had the same problem. In control settings I found Nose wheel steering range and on/off control. S is for range but ALT+Q will turn it off. So I assigned a toggle switch on my Warthog's Throttle. I now flip the switch up and no movement within the wheel! But before I do this I look back of the aircraft and make sure the rudders are lined up completely via rudder pedals. Then I flip the switch up forward and take off with no problems. With the switch in the middle I have some steering movement and with the switch flipped all the way down I have even more steering range. No need to hold down anything. On rough take off's though you can shred your front tire up if you get too squirrel'y  DSF:joystick:
14. Flanker 2.0 I remember Flanker 2.0! I think that sim was ahead of it's time from looking at system requirements on the box from the way we used to buy flight sims. I still have a Flaming cliff's manual. The books that used to be printed out and come with them I wished I would have saved all of them. Then I remember Flaming Cliffs and how it evolved to FC3. Then quickly came LOMAC. And then into years and DCS worlds and all the directions we have been led into with many great qualities and things present. I always enjoyed the original Russian Music theme in Flanker 2.0. Even years later with a much more powerful machine one could hardly or almost max out Flanker's settings. It really was some interesting work. I just wanted to say hello and I was hoping that maybe I could get a slight briefing or a link to any info regarding the Hornet project. Ya know, I remember once when everybody was jumping up and down one year when LOMAC was being almost ready to be released. Seemed like everyone was asking if the Hornets in LOMAC would be flyable and we would get a "No" answer from ED. I have recently purchased the Mirage 2000 C. The whole action in DCS worlds is pretty stellar. Like flying low level and the overall action of the module is interesting. I purchased a really hot PC too that maxes out all the settings. That was a must! Once during the LOMAC years I inquired to ED about how nice it would be to have a Hornet and they seem to understand but informed me that being a Russian development team the information at that time was classified so it made it impossible for ED to create a FA18, was what I was told. But now years later we have seen small peaks of possibilities and I was just hoping only because I have awaited for so long... well... maybe ... just maybe you could at least inform me if the Hornet project is still in the works or not. Hopefully it is. I'm thinking it is in my own mind. Last year Wagner had informed me politely that realistically a beta version could be released within next year which is now this year 2017. 03-20-17 today. :joystick: Alright... I do go back a ways. Flanker was the beginning wasn't it? Yup... from buying boxed up products with printed manuals and possible game updates on the website to DCS worlds and downloads to PDF manuals. It has been a nice ride. So here I sit. With my MFG Crosswinds, Warthog system. Those beautiful German made aluminum desk mounts from Monster Machine co. An i78 core plasma cooled CPU with 32 Gigs or RAM. my little Gforce 980TI. Mackie HR8 Studio Monitors for sound. TrackIRv5. I think you guys do the best work and are a leader in this industry. I have always been informed that it is a labor of love and it is a great deal of work involved with little to no profits. So were lucky we have what we have. I hope we can get even more lucky.:smilewink: Respectfully Marc
15. Remember Tron? The movie where the guy became stuck in a video game? I think it would be cool if there could be a cool modern animated movie by today's standards, that was where someone or a group of people got some how stuck in a DCS World. If done right it would be a hit and do major things for the flight sim community I bet. And on that note, ever since Flanker 2.0 became LOMAC, I wanted a FA18 of some kind knowing the quality that we all have known within this platform of LOMAC, Flaming Cliffs 1,2 n 3 to DCS worlds! From Atari's 800 XL "Microprose" F15 E Strike Eagle I ...:P (WE"), now have F15 C in DCS world! I'm getting harder to kill if ya know what I mean?! :pilotfly: Just thought I would have my own screen shot contest. I like these. The MIG 23s are easier to kill. The 29s and SU27s are very dangerous! Can I see some of yours? Respectfully "DragonFlySlayer" 2nd Lt. Marc
17. In DCS worlds I have been trying to figure out how to change the information presented in the MIG 29S's HDD so it is not the same as the HUD! For the life of me I can't figure out how to change the information so I can see jets and their position and navigation like we can in the SU27 and 33 HDD. Is this the way the MIG is or how can I change the mode of the HDD in the MIG so it is not always the same information as my HUD? I have been reading/ searching and trying to find something and looking at Key cards pdf I have downloaded in order to try and find out if there is a way to change that. In my MIG in all three DCS worlds the HUD is the same as the HDD and I cannot change the HDD to show navigation and other aircraft positions. In the SU27 and 33 it is different but not the MIG. Can someone help educate me?:joystick:
18. Rudder Problems - Saitek!! Well a day later here and I figured out my problem. My rudder pedals breaks are functioning backwards! If I press the breaks down on the Saitek Fighter Jet rudder pedals , it releases the breaks! Then when I take my foot off it activates the breaks! So while I applied the throttle for take off my breaks were actually on causing my jet to veer off course! Even when I disconnected the Saitek unit it still must of been structured in a way in control settings to continue to veer off! Now I press the brakes down and I go straight! Let my feet off and wheel breaks apply! I need to order a set of MFG Crosswinds!
19. One problem I am having is in DCS world 2 Nevada, taking off in that mission they have set up. As I attempt to depart from the runway, my F15C continues to gently move to the left and want to drift off the runway to crash or do damage to the aircraft! I spent hours trying to program controls or remove keyboard commands and assign rudder... I even removed the rudders and the jet still wants to drift left. I only did one successful take off and that was because I held the rudders very carefully to keep it from drifting left. Is this supposed to be a tail drag effect? I have a new machine and I have settings all completely maxed out! Looks really cool! All sorts of trucks n cars moving. Maybe if I create my own mission and take off it will not act this way.. "?" Anybody know what this is or why my jet wants to drift on the runway either way landing or taking off? It's in the DCS world 2 Nevada/ missions/ F15C/ taking off from runway practice.
