This will sound like a broken record, but you guys should definitely consider F-15/F-18 grip - just look at the following the old Suncom Talon joystick gets...

$200 for GPU does not buy much unfortunately - perhaps GTX 1060? I don't think 1080 will be going down to $200 even on sale any time soon... Also I would definitely spend money on more RAM (at least go for 16GB RAM) and SSD if you do not have one already.

Precisely and that's where the problem is. I had Imperial units set as I needed them for the map when I was flying F-5; when I switched to L-39, I ended up with instruments in Imperial too, but instructor was calling speeds/altitude in Metric. In the end, this was not a huge issues as I ended up realizing what was happening in the end and switched to the correct units, but I would have preferred instrument unit selection for L-39 happen in plane specific options as its more intuitive.
-
I searched the forum and it looks like this is an issue with L-39 only as it apparently has two official cockpit versions; shouldn't be a problem for the other planes. I agree with Mainstay, ED should put an option for L-39 under plane options.

It doesn't look like a lot of people are on Teamspeak even when server has one - you will see people chatting, but Teamspeak is dead.

SpeedStick - what is your opinion of BRD-DS base? I heard Bauer stuff is really good, so just wonder why would you want to change it. Cyph3r - is there any way to add your desk mount to my existing order of base? I've looked at ordering it separately, but shipping costs just as much the mount itself...

Is there a way to set DCS to use default units (imperial/metric) based on the airplane? I've been flying F-5E a lot lately and had units set to Imperial, but yesterday decided to do a couple of L-39 training missions and it took me a bit to realize why I could not hit speed/altitude directions called out by the instructor.

Sure; where are the logs located - I'll pull them later on today and send them over? Thank You!

Whitelisting will not solve the problem - you would still have people accusing of 'cheating'. There also should be realization that VR users are probably just a tiny portion of the whole DCS community - even if you could limit servers based on user hardware/game setting, there won't be many people flying together at any given point of time. I think a better approach would be to do community events. I remember back in the old days when I used to fly AirWarrior and Aces High, once a week there was an 'official' mission. Usually Saturday/Sunday in the late morning (well at least for me here on EST, but it was picked so that people from pretty much everywhere could join at a more or less convenient time). This is something that I think could work really well in DCS as well... Actually, now that I remembered it, I really want something like this in DCS - if anyone's interested, let me know and I'll create a new thread for this.

Hello, Was anyone able to assign SRS to TM MFD's? MFD's are not recognized neither by default, nor after activating "Allow More Input Devices" option (in fact, after activating this option, SRS stops accepting commands from all of the devices including the keyboard). Thanks!

VAICOM 2.0 for VoiceAttack
mx22 replied to Hollywood_315's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Is there a profile for F-5 by any chance? Also how does VAICOM integrates/co-exists with other DCS radio tools (Teamspeak and Simple Radio) - I know these are not directly related to each other, but figured it is still worth asking. AvgWhiteGuy - have you tried TM calibration tool? Here is the link TM gave me: https://cloud.guillemot.fr/index.php/s/JDwsp9Q72AfKqWd Password: 12345 -
How should one go about scrolling online chat in VR? I wanted to check some of the earlier messages from my session today, but could not figure out how to scroll up. I could see a chat slider, but it wasn't clickable.

Try taking the grip off and make sure you have connector properly connected. You don't even need to screw the grip in to test all of the buttons. Contact Virpil support if it is indeed broken.
-
Why would it break? Not sure I understand your point. Something tells me gimbal of the joystick would break before the grip connection gives in...
-
Grip will be loose until the very last half turn or so, most likely you did not screw it in far enough. You will need to apply a bit of a force to get it all the way in too (someone here used pliers to hold plastic gimbal of WH in place while screwing in the grip as a precaution from twisting and breaking it, but I just screwed it in without holding gimbal).

Thank you very much for such an informative post!

I guess it is done with Warthog owners in mind. On Warthog, I can have throttle in off position and then move it to idle...

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
mx22 replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Most likely plastic, just like VirPil's grip. -

Introducing the VKB-Sim ‘Modern Combat Grip’ (MCG)
mx22 replied to rrohde's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Are there any plans to sell a complete joystick with this grip? P.S. On MCG and MSG TM, the 2-way switch on the top right side of the grip will not be very comfortable. I've got VirPil's version of this grip (not sure what is going on there, but grips are identical visually) and I would have preferred them placing it where Warthog's 'CMS Switch' position is and just a button on top right side (so basically swap places from the setup they and VKB have). -
Sorry, I should have been a bit more clear - all navigation is done through original TACAN (Kobuleti, 67X). The point of exercise is to fly along predetermined route using original TACAN only. So 18 degrees radial, 21 miles is calculated off original TACAN. I chose the other airfields as navigation points simply because it makes it easier for me to see if I messed up somewhere in my calculations. PS. Between the fields in the screenshot, I can obviously navigate by dialing TACAN frequencies of the airfields I'll be heading for. For airfields without TACAN stations, I can use NDB frequencies. But exercise here is to fly through points that are not located over any beacons forcing me to use original TACAN station only for navigation.
