Some food for thought... 4 years ago when we had a daughter, to save space, I replaced my desktop with a then nicely spec'ed laptop (not top of the line, but with enough power to drive any game back then on high settings) and I regretted that decision ever since. My laptop is 17" and is just too heavy to be really mobile; and yet 17" is just not enough to enjoy games on daily basis - so I ended up bringing back my monitor. Monitor meant I needed at least some kind of a shelve nearby to connect laptop to. So much for space saving (to be honest, current setup is nowhere near as bulky as my old PC table, but it is big enough to house small desktop)... Another thing I did not initially think of - upgradability (or to put it better, the lack of it). I've just bought one of the small gaming desktop chassis (MSI Aegis) and while not a perfect solution (it's using proprietary MSI motherboard so I know down the road neither case, nor MB can't be upgraded), I added to it just the hardware I wanted (and can upgrade everything as needed) and it cost me easily $1000 less then a similar spec'ed laptop would have. Perhaps not the answer you are looking for, but think hard before getting a laptop. P.S. From what I understand, 1060 is not much (if any) better then 970/980 - perhaps try going for at least 1070? Remember, you won't be able to upgrade it and it will be the first thing that will 'age' on your laptop.

I have Google Daydream which unfortunately does not allow for any adjustments. I looked through Moonlight settings, but haven't seen anything for IPD. I will try it Trinus later on today. Thanks a lot for your help!

Just stumbled on this thread and of course, had to try it... I'm having problems with "ghosting" though - seems like edge of left/right eyes are fine, but there is an overlap in the middle. For example in FW-190, I see two gunsights... Any way to correct this? I'm using my Pixel XL (5.5'' screen if it matters) and Moonlight. Thanks!

Hi guys, Right toe brake on my CH Pro Pedals stopped working a few days ago, so I took cover off the right pedal and took potentiometer out. Figuring I have nothing to loose, I tried taking it apart and ended up braking the circuit panel... Any ideas where I could buy new potentiometer? I recall reading that CH no longer sells spare parts and to be honest I don't want to replace an otherwise perfectly functioning set of pedals. Thanks!

I went through the cold start tutorial only so far and was amazed about how unprofessional it was. This is a fairly complicated plane with a busy cockpit, having clear instructions on what is what and why would have been very useful. I also highly doubt Soviet/Russian instructors were/are serial drunkies, so what's the point? I hope developers take note and produce better trainings in future modules.

Is there somewhere an option in DCS that permits assigning a joystick button to act as TrackIR center key? Obviously the key itself is assigned in TrackIR software - I'm just looking for an 'empty' line command in DCS that would allow me to bind the key to a joystick button (perhaps with a modifier). Hi guys, I've just noticed that when I start a mission in Mig-15, fuel shut-off valve is always positioned at around 50% open. Not a problem for cold starts, however when I try to start mid air (such as Free Flight), it causes the engine to shut down immediately. Did something change in the last patch or two to cause this? Or did I screw something up on my end and if so, how do I fix that? Thanks!

Related question... During the cold start up, after engine is on, manual says to switch Isolating Valve switch on (located on left switch panel and is the only switch that is not getting activated during start up) - green light next to the switch should come in and there should be a drop in RPMs and temperature. On my end, turning the switch on does not produce any RPM/temperature fluctuations and, according to the manual, it means I have fuel automatic malfunction. Yet plane/engine operates normally. Has this switch been properly implemented?

I realize the premise of WWII style joystick, but as someone who is late to Black Mamba game... Is VKB planning to re-release Black Mamba, perhaps just as an attachment for Gladiator base? I'd really like to have 2 hats on my joystick...

Does anyone use CH Products Fighterstick USB with DCS? If so, what settings do you use for it? I find that it's just too 'loose' near the center which makes takeoffs/landings more hard then they should. I've tried playing with curves and saturation, but still can't find the settings I would have liked. Mind sharing yours in this thread?

Not sure if I'm forgetting to turn something on or does the ARK-5 control panel does not have any floodlights over it? On the left side, RSI-6 control panel is always lit, but on the control panel for the ARK-5 panel on the right side remains completelyunlit - at least on my screen, it's unusable as I can't see any controls...

А есть ли в Миг-15 подсветка пульта управления АРК-5? Вроде как включил все лампы - левая сторона кабины полностью освещена, а вот на правой стороне только панель АЗС и дальше кромешная тьма... Может пропустил что-то?

I'm having an issue with this training mission as well. It's a night ground attack training mission using aircraft cannon and apparently illumination flares must be dropped by another flight. Unfortunatelyrics flares are either not being dropped or they are dropped somewhere else, nothing illuminates target area so it's impossible to complete the training mission... does anyone else have the same problem with this training mission or is it some graphics option that is not activated on my end?

Hi, Is there a way to have Russian communications in the English version? I've checked Russian cockpit, but I do not see an option for Russian language. Since I can speak Russian, the whole thing of English with Russian accent is rather annoying... Thank You! Alexei

Joe Kurr, Why to struggle with a version in a different language then the one you speak? After you ad shipping, ozon's price will be approximately the same as English version (plus you won't have to wait for a month or so to get your hands on it).
