  1. I wasn't lucky enough to be able to attend CIAV15 - but I hear the "Kockica" made its rounds on Saturday and the NATO grey 167 flew by on Sunday. Good to see the gang is back. :D Also, Wormeaten made three excellent skins - here's a gallery I took of them. Sadly, the Kockica isn't among them, and I'm not sure if Wormeaten is still working on them.
  2. Now all I need to do is combine the Winter and Spring from this mod, Summer from Desert and Fall from Vietnam. That'd pretty much be the ultimate terrain package. :D
  3. Good artisans and livery craftsmen, I'd like to ask for a MiG-21bis USAF-style camo paintjob similar to this Phantom here. I think it'd go really well with the DCS Vietnam terrain retexture.
  4. Excellent mod, chromium, this is something I'd been wishing in the game for a long time. It saves me the trouble of alt-tabbing between my weather page and the DCS ME. :D
  5. I'd like to "cyrillicize" my DCS to have all airplanes listed in the ME and in-game in following way: NATO jets - listed with their designation and name (i.e. F-15A Eagle, F-15E Strike Eagle etc.) Russian/Soviet jets - listed with cyrillic names and with NATO codename (i.e. Су-27С Flanker-B, МиГ-21бис Fishbed-L) I noticed the names are stored in the the "DCSWorld\Scripts\Database\planes" LUA files and I've been able to rename most of them - but I'm having trouble with two of them. First off, the Su-27S doesn't want to show the Cyrillic name - the Cyrillic characters get rendered as boxes (the "-27" and "Flanker-B" parts show up nicely". Secondly, I can't find the corresponding file for any of the third-party planes - MiG-21, Hawk, none of them want to get renamed. Does anyone have a clue what's going on?
  6. Very cool. Can't wait to see it live!
  7. The biggest problem is that the aircraft is heavy. As far as I recall, in case of excess fuel (over 700 L remaining) you're supposed to burn it all off with extended air-brakes, while race-tracking around the airstrip.
  8. Issue #3 is solvable, there's a replacement texture right down this link. I do wish issue #2 would be solved soon, I remember it working flawlessly up until a few patches ago.
  9. I'll watch this with great interest. The Alphajet is a nifty little thing, and I wouldn't mind seeing it in DCS.
  10. I think I'm about to have a compression stall!
  11. We need to figure out how to set SweetFX so we get a permanent sepia filter in-game.
  12. Definitely fits, excellent addition, John!
  13. Definitely on the SSD - I run mine that way and it's a very noticeable boost.
  14. You can either do it visually or call AWACS/GCI to identify it for you. As far as I know there's no third way.
  15. I'll check it out in the evening and see if that same QFE mmHg fix also affects the units in AWACS/GCI responses.
  16. The only two jets that have trim reset disabled, to my knowledge, are the Su-25 and Su-25T, which is supposed to be realistic.
  17. I'm definitely late to the party - I just discovered the thread now through /r/hogggit! Thank you for the effort in writing all of this down, I may even dare dip my toes into modding one of these days. I'm sorry to head abour dealing with aging parents. I'm not in that position yet, but I can't imagine it being easy.
  18. Thanks for the galleries, Zilch. The cockpit reminds me of a Yugoslavian airforce training video I saw on YouTube. Neither of the two look like the MiG-21bis cockpit - some instruments got combined together in the bis.
  19. Easy on the couch, Rick. :D
  20. What if it's a witch?
  21. That doesn't sound right. The second reheat stage doesn't (or rather, shouldn't) work above 4000m AGL. At least - that's how i remember it should be, and I'd never been able to activate it above said altitude.
  22. I should've quoted Cobra847 verbatim, I didn't quite type it out as he explained. I do not know how other airplanes' pippers behave when they're pointed at the ground, and whether they're slaved to the radar altimeter or (in case of the Su-25 models) the Klyon/Prichal laser. In the end, even knowing how they act doesn't mean anything if the MiG-21bis just plain didn't have any of it. Maybe LNS could implement a row of options in their "special" section. Intelligent ASP on-off, G-load limits on-off... not just tie them into the "simple" and "realistic" buttons. :D
  23. This has been confirmed in another thread as something the developers willfully included in order to fit the aircraft better into the DCS experience.
