Correct, sir. I'm sure it's just like the heavies, of which I am used to. You pull the handle, that will cut out all fuel flow to that engine, also cutting all power and other accessories. If that doesn't do it, rotate the handle left (again, not the A-10) and that will explode the first squib on the fire bottle. If that didn't work, you had one more bottle to try, using the right rotation.

Awe astounding. There should be a badge on this forum, that after a review by, say, ten peers, you are able to place proudly next to your username. It should say "Master Builder." And you sir, would have my vote to be the first person to receive such an award! You, M. are truly a master builder. Bon travail

Yikes! Sorry to hear that DM. Take it easy.
-
Agree with DM. Very sharp looking!

DM, mounting is ok with me if you decide to go in that direction. I've got a question that is going to really show my ignorance, but I've never used the emergency brake in the sim, and I'm currently not at home. Does the brake work by pulling out the handle, or by twisting it? Just wondering how to implement the switch part. Thanks.

Helios and HSI peculiarity Thanks. I've been trying out all kinds of different things myself, but can't seem to find a lot of options to change in the GUI.

I'm just giving this a little bump and I am truly perplexed.

This pit is really nice. And clean! Like how you've prioritized the switches and installed just the ones really needed. Is that aluminum sides?

I probably was one of those that may have turned down one of your offers. I've taken some of them, too. Unfortunately, real life does not always allow me the luxury to afford fantasy life no matter how much I want it. Sometimes it takes a couple of months to save up for a big money item. I can probably see how some others, maybe not many, but some, have to do the same thing if they are not independently wealthy. So I wouldn't hold it against people, nor stop offering. But that's just me. :smilewink: You've got some incredible stuff, DM. Along with that, you've got a lot of knowledge and ability to help a lot of people. Especially me. So, if you have the time, please don't give up on some of us because you don't think we appreciate what you have to offer.

That's fantastic, DM. I didn't know about VPs, as I'm rarely on there and always on here. As long as you were making them, I'd get them from you anyway. ;) I simply didn't know exactly what was included and what wasn't, and I'm glad you can get enough time to make them, so thank you. (As it is, I'm already gladly in your debt for your help, only wish I could return the favor somehow, besides only a six pack. :) )

So what does that leave? Is it just going to be the Aces II decals, and that's it? Whatever you're able to do, I appreciate it. I know I certainly couldn't do make them with the same quality.

Deadman's A-10 C Cockpit Build DM, it's a bit confusing, just for me, in all the offerings, or maybes, etc. in all the different places. So can you just, I don't know, tack a little note next to your order list that just says: "Wayne - Yes please!" Well, what!? You might be asking. As you know, probably anything laid before me. Inside decals? Yes please. Outside? You got it. Yes please. Handle Decals? Yes please. Replica handles with decals? I'll change this one up and say "Most definitely!" :) I think you might be getting the idea. (On a personal note, not sure what else could be at the top if my list besides what I've already mentioned. (Landing gear panel, etc.) So feel free to offer and most likely answer will be in the affirmative. Thanks.) So, in summary of my confusing post. Decals - Yes, whatever is made. (In/Out/Both) Handles - Yes. Entire set, whatever it consists of. Whether it's only the aux landing gear and pedal adjust, or the ones I really want, the canopy jettison and especially the brake. Hope it works out to my favor, if not, totally understand, maybe next time, and let me know if you could use any help doing anything. Here's another idea. Instead of that 501©3 nonprofit, actually fund the book as a Kickstarter. That way, you'd have the funds up front, with definite possibility on selling even more afterwards! Win/Win! :D
-
Um, no one?
-
There ya go, DM. Create a non-profit, set up a 501© and have companies donate to your... Restoration... And Display of.... America's Military Air Power. Of course, you could call it Deadman's Pit, but that might sound too much like its got something to do with Dante's Inferno! :D So how about RADAMAP? ;)

I seem to be having difficulties with my HSI, and wondering if anyone has encountered this or would know of a solution. Perhaps it's just something stupid I forgot to do. Running the HSI on a separate monitor through Helios. My HSI seems to be... backwards? It is always approximately 180 degrees or so (not always that much) out from what it displays in the A-10C. The compass card also seems to in the opposite direction. If I'm on a northerly heading, and I turn East, my compass card through Helios shows I'm heading South, then turning West! Like I said, it's probably something stupid, but I've checked my Helios setup and simply don't know where I've screwed up, but it is rather consistent. Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry, I do not know. I am curious to see what the response is, if any. Though I'm not afflicted with this particular trouble, Please, let us, know if you have a resolution. Thanks.

Sorry to hear this, Tom. I really enjoyed seeing your pit progress. Great luck with whatever you take up next! (Oh yeah, you wouldn't still have any extra landing gear panel parts would you?)

Deadman's A-10 C Cockpit Build How about that fancy red cover you got there? :) um, eventually I'll want to start an AcesII... Can you dip the whole seat? Like a really big plastic 1:1 model! :D You know, the more I think about it, how *about* the big red round switch cover you have there? Or maybe the brake and ... Handles? (It left me there at 2am.) time to check out.

Fine bit of restoring there, DM. Paint stick, huh? I've never actually used one of those. You still recommend the clay or putty method for the knobs? I just picked up some clay last week in anticipation of painting the knobs as soon as I drill them all. Or is this paint stick all the rage with the kids these days?

Then, to make the rivets look really authentic, every once in awhile make sure you hammer a "smiley" into them, ;) (Never liked pounding rivets, nor general hangar type work. Working on the line, you don't often get the chance to get out the rivet gun. When you do though, it's usually a patch that gets the occasional smiley pounded into them, and when you do screw it up, you get the chance to drill it out and get more practice. :D) I think you've made a great looking seat!

Too bad DM, I was looking forward to these. Next time though, ok?
-
That's good stuff, thanks Cyber. Like I said, I'm just learning so I didn't realize there was a shield out there for more inputs. Good to know.
-
Yeah, if you can figure out a way to put more than a handful of switches I am definitely in. I'm just learning the Arduino board and it's going slow. I never liked C myself. I can go all day with VB and Access, but I never could get ahold of C.
-
Oh! Not a problem! I kinda just figured you might have dropped the project or even dropped out for awhile. I really like the work you've done though, and if it's still a possibility, I can wait as long as it takes. As long as you can say for sure if I've got one in the wings, I'd be more than happy to make due until whenever you can get back to playing. :)
