I agree. It’s definitely useful when winders don’t have the reach but you can still lock up in DGFT mode. Only time I really did that using 120s was bandit was trying to run when I was busy splashing his buddy. Found him, he was cold and accelerating but well within the envelope. Lock drops after latest patch and hotfix
Eagle7907 replied to captain_dalan's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Hey Mike, Any news about fixing the problem with Jester not switching to PSTT when told to? It seems he’s still having that issue. Usually that results in a free kill for a bandit, if you know what I mean. Merry Christmas! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
This happened again to me the other day as well while trying out TWS. Somehow, don’t know how, but the b-sweep was not completely going to the right. This time I didn’t really know what I was doing. Trying to learn TWS by trial and error. Evidently if you just do lots of sensor select or or other TDC presses and undesignates can cause it as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Can someone help me figure out what happened?
Eagle7907 replied to Eagle7907's topic in DCS: F-16C Viper
Can someone help me figure out what happened? Oh snap. That might be it. I check it on for ramp start when taking the runway. Not sure if it was on this time since I was already on the runway. I’ll have to watch the track to see if it was. Addendum: It was on, switch leaning towards the cockpit sidewall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -

Has this been reported? That’s pretty crazy. I was in a climb when it happened. Also it was cold but standard pressure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -

I don't think so. I did a runway start and didn't do any refueling. Only thing I altered from after takeoff from that area of the cockpit was the external lights panel. I understand what you're thinking though. I did nudge the trim hat before this sleigh ride started, but I find it hard to believe that would change the FLCS into any change in logic with the gear up? -
So I'm all pleased as punch about the AMRAAM upgrade, so I take a wingman and go out an shoot some bandits up. After the second flight being splashed I decide to get a bit higher in altitude (30k) to get a bit more reach for the Mig29 flight. While climbing I accidentally nudged my trim hat and the FLCS started doing weird stuff. The jet started to oscillate in pitch. I nose over and almost red-out, regain control. Hmmm, thats odd. M.85@28k a stall? No way. So I climbed up again, same thing happened. But this time I let it oscillate and it got worse. This time it completely departed. What? So I regained control, well sort of. I was able to stop the rolling, but it got into a deep stall. I attemted to use the MPO, but that did nothing. it got so deep, at max thrust, watching from outside the jet looked like a heli on fire. December should be a great month for the Hornet. On Discord it’s been mentioned. Also YouTube, Facebook, etc. Standby for link. Unfortunately, the cheek station mount won’t come until the ATFLIR is developed. Been answered by Bignewy and Wags several times. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

This is correct. Also for those who haven’t noticed even in the civilian world, it is extremely difficult for a person to marshal an aircraft in to park with the taxi light on. That light is extremely powerful, bright, and usually with a wide beam. Now imagine that in an environment on a deck of a ship being directed everywhere you go. It would be unwise and unsafe to use any taxi or landing light on a carrier. The only time I’d would imagine it’s use would be if the jet is out of control on the deck and you’re warning people to get out of the way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Heatblur Development Update - Thunder & Cat
Eagle7907 replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Heatblur Development Update - Thunder & Cat I think what you guys did with the Tomcat really set the bar high. Never have I gotten a cool jet with a cool album with a funny RIO. I am a bit disappointed he hasn’t sung me “Great Balls of Fire” yet. [emoji6] I know.....EA. [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
Wheel brakes not fully applying?
Eagle7907 replied to Arbil's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Yeah channel 2 deactivates the anti-skid. Brakes still function but unless careful applying expect an F-5 drift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro -
December should be a great month for the Hornet. There’s still lots missing besides weapons/systems on the hornet to yet be addressed. I wouldn’t be surprised if the end of next year there is still undeveloped items left. One good example the BIT page. Another, DTC implementation. And that coveted AG radar. ATFLIR. Long way to go. Oh you’re right. -129 engine is 90%. That’s even worse. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Brakes a bit ineffective? I read on a certain source that 85% is the initial run up for TO either MIL or MAX. So, it shouldn’t move at all. Also note that sometimes the jet will make a slow right hand yaw during the run up. I think that has to do with the left brake problem. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I don’t think it completely resolves your conclusions, but F-14 has spoilers, anti-skid brakes, and speed brake. F-16 just has speed brake, anti-skid brakes, and aero braking which only effective until the tail plane stalls. But I also think the friction values for the F-14 is based on the legacy DCS standard, where as the F-16 seems to be different and very easy to taxi using minimal thrust. That’s my observation between the two. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I discovered this the other day. From cold jet, I started up jet and when selecting on the STA switch next to MMC, GPS, MIDS, INS, etc., I would get the sidewinder growl audio. Master arm is still SAFE and still in NAV mode, JHMCS off, while taxiing I still hear the missile audio and I even hear the audio cues of looking outside the missile FOV. Out of curiosity after takeoff, I switch to AA briefly and switch weapons selected to A120. Missile audio stops. Go back to NAV. All seems normal then. Two problems. 1) Sounds like the missile audio is playing regardless of mode selected for ramp start. 2) The jet is accepting JHMCS regardless of switch position for ramp start. Okay, I tried this and after one or two tries, I got it to work. Its almost like the logic of the DED displays are not correct or only written to work from the home page. So going to theses pages from any other page won’t populate them which is not correct. Thanks for pointing that out. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

Has anyone else been able to dopper right to the other pages for DLNK? My install doesn't do anything, according to the Wags video. It shows the first page. But not the other remaining pages. Same with CMDS. Only can configure program 1. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk Pro

I’ve noticed this problem as well. It’s almost like the nosewheel loses traction after you advance the throttle to takeoff thrust. You have to correct the drift which by then is close to 50kts. I don’t know. Just seems odd. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

No, no, it’s all good. Just appreciate you doing that. I’m not caught off guard by the results not completely matching the 1-1, but the excess speed combined with the lack of braking energy may be a combined result why the accelerate-stop calculations don’t match. Anyways, EA. Good day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Brakes a bit ineffective? Dee-Jay, so by your testing your conclusions are that the problem isn’t just the lack of brake energy. It’s also a surplus of power plant energy or lack of drag/friction? (I guess friction is brake energy, but I’m thinking more of induced drag) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sometimes it’s not the jet that’s the problem. The NTTR map does have some airports that are not instinctively correct to other airports. Also there are still bugs at some airports as well for that map. You may very well setting this up correctly in the jet, but the airport/ATC might be the thing preventing the ILS beams from being broadcast. I don’t have a list of which ones work or not, but to check and make sure they are setup to work: -would to ensure a headwind for desired runway. -Always call ATC for inbound to verify the runway they are using is correct (this will save you frustration). -verify the runway on the F10 map has an ILS freq. Don’t rely on the kneeboard charts. If all those favor your ILS you want to shoot, then the jet should detect the beams if set up correctly. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I’m not familiar with the Cougar Hotas, but I think this is targeted for those who still have them? They don’t want the TM Warthog, but just want the newer base? I’m just speculating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
